CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 113: Stabilized

Cassandra’s eyes widened when she heard it.

’Who is it?’ She asked as she looked at the Duke who was staring at her.

[You know us, Princess. Wasn’t I talking with you before?]

Cassandra swallowed as she blinked hard. ’But your voice,’

[Oh, I am not single now. I have fire too.]

Cassandra nodded, understanding the situation completely. ’Do you want to get more power?’

[Yes, We need wind and earth too.]

[Try out the new powers Princess.]

Cassandra did not reply. She looked at the Duke with a dull face.

"What happened?" Duke Salvador asked as he raised his eyebrows. "Is it telling you something?"

Cassandra nodded her head. "It is telling me to try out my powers."

Aiden smiled as he touched the fifth princess’s hair softly. "So try it."

Cassandra shook her head in denial. She was a little afraid. She did not know what was happening anymore and suddenly she was in the possession of so much power. Cassandra looked up into the duke’s eyes. "I am afraid," Cassandra said as she blinked.

Aiden Salvador was silent. He looked at the fifth Princess as a laugh left his lips. "Why? I am here to protect you. Nothing will happen to you. I am here." Duke Salvador’s tone was filled with understanding and love.

Princess Cassandra swallowed as she nodded her head. "I will try."

Princess Cassandra smiled as she looked down at her hand. There was a little tremble in her heart.

"Do not worry Princess. Just try. If anything goes wrong then I am there." Princess Cassandra’s eyes shined when she heard those words. Duke Salvador’s words had given her the confidence that she lacked.

"I will try." Princess Cassandra smiled. She closed her eyes but she did not know where to begin. She was like a blank canvas who was lost.

Princess Cassandra’s smile dropped down as she looked down. ’Where are you when I need you?’

Princess Cassandra thought but the voices that were commanding and guiding her were nowhere to be heard. Cassandra’s mind was getting messy.

’I need you now and yet you are gone.’

’You never stop talking when I tell you too.’

Princess Cassandra was complaining but the voices did not say anything. It was as if they had abandoned her.

’So this is how things are going to be.’ Cassandra started playing with her hand in dismay. Her eyes trembled as she started thinking about how to go forward from here.

Duke Salvador understood the fifth Princess’s troubles. He sighed as he held Cassandra’s hand as if he was teaching a child for the first time. But Aiden knew he had this level of patience only because it was Cassandra.

"You helped me before so let me guide you now." Aiden smiled as he held Princess Cassandra’s hand tightly.

"Close your eyes and concentrate. Let the fire flow through your body." Aiden’s voice flowed through Cassandra’s ears as she blocked everything else from her surroundings. She nodded her head as she followed the Duke’s words without any questions.

Aiden was happy seeing that the Princess was following him. It showed how much she had come to trust him as she had started trusting her.

"You might feel the fire moving through your veins. Concentrate on that. Nothing else." Duke Salvador loosened his grip on the fifth Princess Cassandra as he smiled. "Now move it towards your palms or your fingers. Think that it is the only way that the fire will be released but be sure to not drop your focus."

Cassandra could feel the power traveling towards her hand but she couldn’t understand what to do next. Her eyes creased as her face twitched.

"Don’t do that." Aiden touched Cassandra’s nose as he laughed. You are new in using the powers so it will be a little difficult but practice will make you perfect."

Cassandra swallowed as her face turned pink. her heart was beating faster. Cassandra could not control her power as a fire emitted from her palm for a brief second before it vanished.

"OH ..." Cassandra was frightened as she opened her eyes and shook. She looked at the Duke and was looking at her with worry.

"Are you okay?"

"Did you get hurt?"

Both Duke Salvador and princess Cassandra asked together. Both of their breathing increased due to the incident. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

After a brief silence, both of them started laughing. It was the first time that they had laughed so wholeheartedly. It was as if the barrier between them had suddenly vanished but soon the laughter died out but the atmosphere it created still remained.

"Control your emotions next time, my butterfly." Aiden touched Cassandra’s cheeks as he came near her face. His voice was a whisper. "We both only have one life to spare."

Cassandra smiled but her face was blushing. She could tell that her neck would have been red long back. She nodded her head but her eyes looked straight into Duke Salvador’s

Aiden smiled as he moved towards the fifth Princess. His eyes were shining with an unknown emotion in them. And before he knew it the Duke rested his forehead on Cassandra’s.

Princess Cassandra could not move. Her breathing increased and so did her heartbeats. Cassandra swallowed. She did not know where to look as her gaze was engulfed by the Duke’s.

"This .." Princess Cassandra managed to break the Duke from the spell that he was under.

Aiden soon realized what he was doing but he did not want to stop. He wanted to take a step forward. He had long made up his mind regarding the fifth Princess and now that he was here alone with her, Aiden did not want to lose it.

’But I cannot be careless.’

’The Princess will be frightened.’

Princess Cassandra was looking at the man. She wanted to stop Duke Salvador but also wanted him to continue. Her heart was in a dilemma. Cassandra did not know what to do anymore.

"Princess .,..." Amy’s voice came as the voice of door opening was heard.

Both Cassandra and Aiden moved away from each other. They both didn’t know how to face one another. Amy, who had just entered the room, did not know what had happened.

Cassandra ran her hand on her hair nervously as she smiled at Amy. "Yes."

Amy looked between Ed and the Princess. She could feel the unanswered tension between them but she could not understand the contest behind it.

Amy’s eyes narrowed as she smiled and walked towards the fifth Princess. "Can we talk now?" Amy asked in a low tone.

Princess Cassandra nodded her head as she looked at the Duke who too nodded his head. They both moved to the chairs and Amy took one.

"Tell me, Amy. Something was bothering you." Princess Cassandra asked as she blinked at Amy.

Amy looked at Ed before she shifted her eyes towards the fifth Princess. "Something is different here." Amy’s tone was low as if afraid that someone might hear her.

"Like what?" Princess Cassandra asked as he moved towards Amy.

[How should I explain it in words?]

[It is just a feeling that I am getting.]

[Something is fighting between myself. Something is having a huge conflict.]

Princess Cassandra listened to Amy’s thoughts but her eyes narrowed. She couldn’t understand what her lady in waiting was saying. It was true that she had felt a little different from the time she had entered the Vivere Kingdom but not something that Amy was thinking.

Princess Cassandra did not have any other options left as she looked at the man sitting beside them.

"Ed." Princess Cassandra looked down, too shy to look up at him. "Did you feel something different since you entered?"

Aiden’s eyes sharpened as he looked at Amy. He had felt it but he dismissed the thought, thinking that it was because he was more powerful with a specific element. But if Amy was feeling the same thing then it was different. The situation would change completely.

"Yes." Aiden’s tone turned serious as Princess Cassandra looked up at him to listen. "My powers are confused."

Amy’s eyes brightened as she nodded her head in agreement. "Yes,"

[Yes, confused. That is the word.]

Princess Cassandra looked between Amy and the Duke as she then focused on Aiden. "Confused? How?"

"I cannot explain it in words but after what happened before it stabilized," Aiden said as he looked at the Princess, making her eyes wide.

’What happened before?’ Cassandra swallowed as an image came into her mind but the voices from within dismissed it.

[He is not talking about it.]

Princess Cassandra’s eyes shook as she listened further. [He means when you absorb the powers.]

Princess Cassandra looked at the Duke with a questionable look. "Are you sure?" Cassandra murmured but the question was not directed to anyone in particular.

"Yes. I am sure about it." Aiden said with confidence as he looked straight into the fifth Princess’s gaze.

[Are you doubting us now?] The voices scolded the princess at the same time.
