Chapter 368: 368: Imperial Army

"But..." Felix still felt guilty.

"No buts. I’m already tired and don’t wish to hear any more of that. Okay?"

Felix hesitated and then smiled. "Okay then. I won’t bring it up. But I hope you won’t get mad at me..."

"Why would I?" Eden sighed. "So stop being a kid and take a rest. You’ll need it."

Felix nodded as he said, "It’s been so long since we’ve spoken like this, Master. Why don’t you sleep beside me and tell me some stories?"

Eden raised an eyebrow. "It’s already late for that. So sleep. Okay?"

"Okay. Since you won’t tell me a story, then sit with me and I’ll tell you some stories," Felix offered.

"Stories? What stories?"

"When I was in a coma, I kept having different dreams. I want to share them with you."

Eden figured it wouldn’t be too bad keeping him company. So he sat down beside him, listening to his tales till late night, until Felix finally dozed off.

By the next morning, news came to them through Lenny.

Eden was standing on the balcony that morning with Adrian, Leo, and Elvis when Lenny flew into Eden’s fingers like a bird.

And then he whispered the news to them. The news about the Emperor’s armies heading down to the Kingdom of Valencrest, and their intention of going to the palace for Queen Elizabeth.

Eden shared the news with them.

"I can’t believe he’d go that far..." Leo said. "I guess he’s really going to do anything to achieve what he wants. Even if it means getting messy with the political situation."

"He’s not the Emperor, so we shouldn’t have expected him to follow the rules or play by the game," Adrian added.

"So? What are we going to do now?" Leo stared at Eden.

"He wants us out, so we’re going to do as he said. We’re going to head back to the Kingdom of Valencrest and stop him from making any more mess and getting anyone else involved in his chaos."

Elvis nodded. "I think so too. I’m worried that if we’re late, he might actually get a hold of my mother."

Eden stared at him. "Don’t worry. None of that will happen. We’ll make sure to stop him before he does."

They shared the news with the rest, and they all began making preparations to head back.

The Emperor’s army had been dispatched some days ago, so it was obvious that they were already getting closer to the Kingdom. Or they might have already arrived.

So they knew they had to hurry to catch up and stop them. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

They soon got ready and boarded their horses. And so their journey through the woods back to the Kingdom continued.

They knew they wouldn’t make it if they only relied on physical travel, so they relied on Eden’s powers. They used some magic to hasten their journey.

In less than a day, they had arrived at the Kingdom of Valencrest.

The people of the market square were shocked at the sight of the Imperial Army flooding into the Kingdom.

They watched in shock and confusion, wondering what they were doing here and who they were here for.

These imperial armies marched past them and made their way to the palace.

They soon arrived at the palace, where they gathered, their weapons all out and ready to strike.

Queen Elizabeth was inside when the news reached her that some Imperial armies were outside.

She didn’t hesitate but made her way out to the entrance in the company of some Royal guards.

She stood there, staring at the crowd of Imperial armies that had surrounded them. She didn’t know why they were really here, but she knew that if they attacked, they could take them all down.

They didn’t seem prepared to go against these Imperial armies.

"And how may I be of help to you?" she asked, staring at the Imperial General of the army who stood in front.

"You don’t need to help us with anything. We’re here to take you back to the Imperial Palace as a criminal. You’re simply under arrest," the Imperial General spoke, aloof.

Queen Elizabeth kept her chin high as she scoffed. "And what are you even talking about? Why would you come to arrest me when I didn’t do anything? It simply doesn’t make any sense, so don’t come around here joking."

"I would have been nice if it were a joke. But you should show some respect and honor to the words of the Emperor. I don’t have time to banter words with you, so you should simply accept your fate. Follow us peacefully, or do you wish to be dragged along?"

Queen Elizabeth glared at him. "Nothing gives you the right to come here and disrespect me as you wish. So I’d appreciate it if you turn and leave with your men this instant. I won’t be going anywhere."

The Imperial General scoffed. "And what makes a female speak about respect? You think you’re everything just because you’re on the seat, huh?" He laughed. "What a joke."

He continued, "If you’re that curious about why you’re being arrested, then I’ll let you in on it. You’re guilty of treason against the Imperial House," he said. "It’s now news of what your son has done. So let’s not waste our time and get this done."

Queen Elizabeth stared at him. She had heard about it all—the accusations and all that happened at the Imperial palace. And she was worried about her son. She wanted to take action to protect her two sons, but Eden had sent her a letter, assuring her that he would protect them.

With his words, she was able to stay at ease while waiting for news from Eden from time to time.

She scoffed. "Treason? You all really know how to make up interesting stories. As if that accusation wasn’t enough, you’re here to cook up another? What’s the aim? To lure my sons out of their hiding place?"
