Chapter 369: 369: An Attack

She could read through them, and The Imperial General could tell.

"Shut up! What gave you the right to be so cocky? Who do you even think you are?"

"I’m the Queen in my territory, and you? Who the hell are you?" she questioned, her expression firm.

The Imperial General was pissed. He glared down at her as he snapped, "Just because an ordinary woman like you got some seat, you think you can say whatever you want? Huh?"

He continued, "Don’t think I’ll let you have your way because you’re a woman—that’s the more reason you should shut up and do as you’re told. You have nothing. The guards you have here can’t compare to the Imperial army. They can take everyone down in a second. So don’t dare get cocky."

"And who says that’s all she has?"

They all suddenly heard a voice that hadn’t been there before. Everyone paused as they began looking around. They looked left and right, but didn’t see anyone.

"Who’s that?" The Imperial General demanded, pulling out his sword. "Who the hell is that??"

No one spoke. Rather, the wind grew heavy. The trees and bushes began moving to the rhythm of the wind, blowing dust into the faces of the guards.

They all covered their faces while looking around, struggling to see what was happening. But they could only hear the voice of the same person speaking.

"You pathetic armies should at least know your lane before trying to create trouble. Talking down on a woman is certainly not an honourable thing to do. You should know better."

The voice echoed through their ears with the wind, blowing dust into their faces.

"Who the hell is that?! Show your face, you coward!" The Imperial General demanded, looking around alert.

The voice laughed as the wind cleared. The dust slowly faded as it came again. "How sad. Do you think that you could do anything to me if you see my pretty face? You couldn’t even lay a finger on that lady. All you do is talk. Pathetic."

The Imperial General was already burning with fury. He began looking around as he said, "Who the hell is that...?!" He demanded until he finally caught sight of the person speaking. "You...!"

They all turned their attention up to the tree, staring at Eden, who casually lay on the branch of the tree, his eyes closed. He looked so relaxed, with a smile lingering on his face.

"Isn’t that the Wizard?!" one questioned.

"Yes, it is the wizard!" another agreed.

The Imperial General scoffed, staring up at Eden. "I guess you wished to save us all the trouble and come yourself. That’s good then. No one gets to stress themselves," he said, his sword at his side.

Eden stared down at him with a smile, his eyes open. "And what are you going to do about it? Kill me?"

"You monster... I’ll have your head today and hand it over to the Emperor! A monster like you doesn’t deserve to live!"

Eden yawned as he rolled his eyes. "You see, I’ve heard that a thousand times now that it’s boring. Don’t you guys have any other interesting lines? Anything?"

They stared at him.

Eden sighed. "Well, since I’m an angel, I’ll give you some advice and encourage you to leave now. Don’t even bother starting a fight here because none of you will make it home alive," he said, staring down at all of them. "Leave now if you wish to live. This is a kind warning from me."

They all stared at each other and looked up at Eden. The Imperial General snapped at him, "And who do you think you are to tell us what to do? We’re going to make sure we have your head today! No escaping for you!"

They snapped as the general signaled two of his men to strike. The two of them pulled their arrows and shot at Eden.

The arrows flew towards Eden, but even before they got to him, they paused. Eden only needed to stare at the arrows, and they turned and flew back to the two men who shot them.

The arrows pierced through their chests, and blood spilled. Soon, the two of them were down on the floor, dead.

Everywhere went silent as they stared at their dead bodies and then looked up at Eden, who was examining his fingers.

He smiled. "It seems it’s going to get more bloody than I thought?" Eden looked down at where Queen Elizabeth stood. He smiled at her. "Take her inside so she shouldn’t witness so much violence."

Elvis and Lysander appeared from the side, along with the rest.

The army turned in their direction, their arrows and weapons set for a fight. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"You’re here for me. So why bother looking their way?" Eden stared at them. "You all should go inside and make some tea. I’m craving one. I’ll be done in a second."

They didn’t question. Lysander and Elvis slowly helped Queen Elizabeth back into the palace. The others followed too, and the entrance door was closed.

Now the army turned to stare at Eden again.

"You... are you that confident? You think killing only two men means you could take all of us down? Huh?" The Imperial General questioned.

Eden smiled. "Isn’t that the case? It’s not like any of you are that impressive," he yawned.

The general stared at his men. "Don’t let him go on talking! Attack him now and take him down this instant!" he ordered.

"Yes!"

They attacked. Most of them pulled their arrows as they fired in unison, their arrows flying in Eden’s direction, ready to take him down.

Eden didn’t seem bothered at all. He casually stared at them as the arrows flew towards him. Soon, these arrows puffed into dust. The arrows appeared again before these men and pierced through them all, sending them bleeding and falling to the floor, dead.

Eden then jumped down from the tree, standing on the floor with both hands behind him. He smiled at them. "I guess it’s time to get real."
