Bizarre Realm-Chapter 129 - 2: Take the Leap! No More Confusion!
Curios are processed equipment, Sealed Objects are less processed or even unprocessable, while Holy Relics are gifts from predecessors.
Curios are considered the least polluted, just like having a few incomplete spirits hanging on one’s body.
"If I want to access the Domain of Knowledge, I must take the initiative!"
The knowledge in the Bizarre Realm is alive, and it’s a resource; you can’t learn it just by reading, you have to steal and rob, plundering it from other monsters. That’s why Shawn was thrown into this haunted place.
In the real world, there just aren’t enough monsters for him to kill!
"The magic power is still quite abundant."
Shawn closed his eyes and sensed the Primitive Magic Power within him. His magic power has always been abundant, seemingly due to his High Inspiration Talent, which far surpasses others. In the Bizarre Realm, all Casters derive their magic from the same source, determined by the talent on the spiritual level. Unlike in the world of the Otherworld Souls, where Wizards are determined by Intelligence and Druids by Perception, in the Bizarre Realm, magic power is a manifestation of the inner spiritual plane. (Three attributes united.)
Because all Casting Systems share the same Law of Primitive Magic Power.
Then let’s fight!
Aemon threw him into this haunted place, to force him to fight.
Shawn took a deep breath, directly removing the Confusion. He no longer considered the issue of mental pollution, intending to face all the bizarre existences head-on!
"Yes! Master!"
"That’s it! They’re not scary at all!" Knowledge excitedly started talking.
Confusion removed.
Shawn saw the strands of black poison mists seeping from the earth. Although very faint, they couldn’t affect the Transcendent but could cause hallucinations in ordinary people.
Now he saw everything clearly!
After removing Confusion, Shawn felt the world was so clear. He directly stored Confusion into the Witch King’s Ring, then gazed toward the Poison Gas Swamp. Under his Spiritual Vision, a blurry, phantom-like outline appeared in the distance, like a massive dark viscous soft-bodied creature extending countless enormous tentacles into all directions.
Take a gamble!
No more confusion!
After removing Confusion, Shawn indeed felt less confused.
Now he had only one path—to fight, and then to survive.
Nothing else mattered.
Three ghostly Invisible Hands extended from Shawn’s back. This was his Specialized Spell, with longer duration and lower magic power consumption. If he wanted to conserve his own magic power, he had to make good use of the combat power of the Invisible Hands.
Click.
Weapons were drawn from the Witch King’s Ring, Shawn equipping a pistol at his waist and hiding a short-barreled shotgun inside his trench coat, with the Invisible Hands also wielding weapons. He now appeared like a walking armory.
Currently, he lacked offensive means, and his spell consumption was significant, so he had to utilize all the resources at hand.
—Invisibility.
Shawn’s figure disappeared on the spot; he first needed to feel out the surroundings. He wasn’t a Transcendent on the Wandering Path and couldn’t stealthily scout, so invisibility was crucial for him.
Several minutes later.
Shawn stealthily returned to the place where he killed the Lizardman. Since he decided to take a gamble, he decided to go big!
Take a gamble.
A few dozen meters away from Shawn lay the beheaded corpse of the Lizardman. Shawn crouched on the ground, quietly waiting. Corrupted mutant Lizardmen certainly didn’t come alone; there could be an entire corrupted tribe. The corpse would attract other enemies and predators, any of which would be prime prey for Shawn.
There are many monsters in the Bizarre Realm that are immune to firearms, but a mutated Lizardman dies if shot in the head, making them ideal for Shawn to practice on.
Whew!
Shawn tried to contain his breath as quietly as possible, waiting for prey to enter his sight.
Who knows how long passed.
A slight sound came from a puddle in the swamp not far away, then two dark yellow eyes surfaced, like a crocodile’s eyes, cautiously surveying the surroundings. Subsequently, two figures silently approached one after the other.
They were Flesh-Mutated Lizardmen; one was much larger, its blood-red eyes filled with bloodthirsty madness, indicating the presence of an Old Bloodline within.
"Here they come!"
Shawn took a deep breath and began calculating the distance. To ensure accuracy, he had to close the distance for his shots to guarantee a direct headshot kill.
Soon, the two Lizardmen spotted their comrade’s corpse, warily approaching to investigate the situation.
Now’s the time!
—Dimensional Jump.
Shawn’s figure blinked out, pulling the trigger in an instant. The three Invisible Hands fired simultaneously, a storm of bullets turning the nearby enemies into sieves.
Bang bang bang!
Within less than thirty meters, the two Lizardmen were simultaneously shot in the head. Shawn emptied the magazines of five pistols in one breath.
Buzz!
But just as he was about to check if the enemies were truly dead, an eerie whisper came from a marshy puddle, and a hunched, frail Lizardman climbed up, brandishing in its hand a bizarre, insect-riddled bone Magic Staff. The moment it raised it, a swarm of poisonous insects flooded out.
Shawn barely had time to react before the swarm of poisonous insects engulfed him, immediately paralyzing him in place. A poisoned arrow shot from the enemy’s hand—it had no bow, yet fired a poisoned arrow that hit Shawn’s head.
In immense pain, Shawn’s head exploded, brain matter spewing out, as his consciousness started to blur.
Death scenes rewinding!
Waking from the throes of death, Shawn felt a thrill. The cooldown for Death Retrospect was indeed short; he had triggered it for the second time in less than twenty minutes.
His potential was indeed never fully realized before! The gifts left by those nameless beings were far stronger than he imagined!
"There’s another Caster in the swamp."
"If I don’t eliminate it first, I’ll surely die the moment I make a move!"
Shawn took a deep breath and began thinking about how to silently eliminate the hidden Caster without alarming the two monsters in front.
The summoned poisonous insects could paralyze him, and being ambushed, he stood no chance to counterattack.
"If only I could stealth."
Shawn calculated the distance. Using the memories from Death Retrospect, he deduced the enemy’s approximate hiding location, in a puddle near the tidal flats, its whole body lurking in the foul, dirty water.
This creature was tricky; Casters are always cunning bastards.
"No guarantee of a headshot in one shot."
"Still need to sneak over."
The Lizardman’s Archery was precise, battles won or lost in an instant, basically akin to modern warfare. They couldn’t withstand firearms, nor could Shawn withstand the Poisoned Arrows. Both parties’ attack powers were maxed out, unable to defend against each other’s offensive methods.
In this situation, with the ability of Death Retrospect, Shawn was practically like running a cheat, directly preemptively locking down the enemy’s ambush position.
He could even know the opponent’s hidden maneuvers since he was killed by them the previous second.
Now.
Shawn finally realized his potential and saw a glimpse of hope to survive.
After removing Confusion, he truly was no longer confused at all.
He was fighting for his life; what need was there for confusion?
