Chapter 774: Chapter 342, Transactions Everywhere (Part 1)_3

"Yes, peace, that’s what the Dwarves want too." As the representative appointed by King Rorrek the Granite Hand of Breeze Castle, King Belgar of Eight Peaks sat on a chair with three cushions stacked, nodding repeatedly: "We are not friends with the Brittania people, but we are not enemies either. Dwarves will not engage in civil war with humans, allowing Green Skin and Chaos to find an opportunity."

Laine sat to the right of Francois, and seeing this, whispered to his father-in-law: "The Dwarves may be stubborn, but they understand the bigger picture."

Francois’s sea-blue eyes twinkled as he smiled elegantly: "The stubbornness of the Dwarves lies in that they do not give you the chance to meet and propose peace talks!"

"I agree to peace talks and am willing to sign a truce agreement, but I must say, the Dwarves of Breeze Castle must acknowledge the Montfort Duchy’s full legal claim to Axe Bite Pass." Duke Fulcard of Montfort said repeatedly: "Moreover, please immediately stop your over-extraction from the mines under my territory. Many mines have already extended deep into my land, infringing upon the rights of the Montfort Duchy."

"The issue of Axe Bite Pass was instructed to me by Rorrek." Belgar stroked his white beard, first affirming the issue of Axe Bite Pass’s ownership: "The Brittania people have long guarded and patrolled Axe Bite Pass, established watch zones and sentries, and defended against the invasion of Green Skin, the Dwarves of Breeze Castle are willing to acknowledge that Axe Bite Pass belongs to the Montfort Duchy."

"Phew~" Duke Fulcard of Montfort felt a weight lifted off his heart, as the tariffs brought by Axe Bite Pass were Fulcard’s lifeblood. He could not possibly concede on this point. Since the Dwarves acknowledged this, further negotiations could proceed.

Both sides began a tug-of-war-like negotiation on many issues. Two hours later, the truce agreement was signed by Dukes Fulcard, Casvan, and Bohemond, and Breeze Castle representative Belgar, marking the first relatively specific delineation of respective spheres of influence. The Brittania people acknowledged the existence of Breeze Castle, and Breeze Castle acknowledged Brittania’s ownership of Axe Bite Pass. Regarding the mineral veins under the mountains, both parties agreed to put aside disputes and jointly develop them. The Brittania people granted Dwarves the right to continue deep mining, and the Dwarves agreed to sell part of the ore to the Brittania people at favorable prices.

Laine knew this was a win-win agreement because Brittania’s mining technology was terribly lacking. Even if they drove the Dwarves away, they would not have the capability to mine themselves. The Dwarves could mine with peace of mind, without worrying about finding a market for the ore.

The dukes and Belgar left the conference room, preparing to go sign the agreement, leaving only Francois, Bodric, Laine, Mogiana, and the representatives from the Empire in the room.

"The next issue, regarding the Empire’s request to further open exports of Wood Elf medicine and Half-Elf Warhorses." Francois continued: "We would like to know what the Empire can offer us in exchange." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"We are willing to trade with you for an army." The Great Alchemist Biersaze Gaert said in his strange voice, filled with the sound of metal scraping: "An army that you need."

"An army we need? I can’t think of a particular army we need," Laine said, frowning. Brittania’s heavy cavalry is the best in the Old World, and he has Dwarf artillery, so he couldn’t figure out what particular army they would need.

"We know what you need," the representatives from the Empire said, presenting a contract before Laine.

"An elite bow cavalry from Kislev called Ugoer."
