Bizarre Realm-Chapter 130 - 3: Go Big or Go Home!
Shawn only had one chance to make a move.
Whether he decided to strike first against the wizard lurking at the edge of the swamp or to kill the two hunters examining the corpse, he would immediately expose his own presence. Both enemies had the capability to kill Shawn instantly. After all, he was on the Wizard Path and didn’t have the reinforced flesh and formidable resilience of a warrior.
Even if Rangers couldn’t obtain firearms in the Bizarre Realm, their use of bows and arrows was incredibly dangerous.
Time did not allow Shawn much room for thought.
Once the two Lizardman hunters finished investigating the corpse, they might very well discover Shawn’s presence, as the Ranger Path inherently granted tracking abilities.
—Mirror Image Technique!
Following his instincts, Shawn decided to gamble everything. His figure dashed out, directly targeting the caster at the edge of the swamp. He wasn’t sure what path the creature belonged to, but its abilities were very much like those of a wizard.
Bam!
A gunshot shattered the tranquility of the area.
The sudden gunshot undoubtedly startled the two Lizardman hunters. Their first reaction was to roll and dodge, then instinctively nock arrows and aim at Shawn’s position. However, the next moment, they were a bit stunned as they saw nine almost identical enemy figures.
Shawn’s own figure was hidden among these nine seemingly identical mirror images.
The number of spells Shawn currently had at his disposal was quite limited, and with the current situation, using any other spell would not be very effective. It was better to take a risk and see if the enemy could discover his true body. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Undoubtedly!
The two Lizardman hunters were somewhat bewildered at this moment. They didn’t immediately grasp the situation, and with so many enemies suddenly appearing, their instinct was to dodge and avoid attacks. Survival instincts kicked in; the enemy had the advantage in numbers, and they were ambushed, so naturally, they sought to evade damage.
This gave Shawn a window of opportunity. He did not empty his magazine in one go but instead focused his spirituality, locking onto the position of the sixth creature. Without visibly perceiving the target clearly after removing his confusion, he was able to determine its precise location by relying on the eerie dark green projection reflected by the enemy.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Shawn opted for a precision shooting strategy, guided by inspiration, slightly slowing down his attack pace.
A splash of blood suddenly appeared.
The first bullet hit the target precisely, but it didn’t injure the enemy. The bullet seemed to be miraculously blocked by something, deflecting from its original trajectory upon nearing its body.
—Energy Shift Force Field.
The enemy was indeed a creature on the Wizard Path.
The hallmark defensive abilities of a wizard, Energy Protection Field, and Energy Shift Force Field; the enemy had activated the Energy Shift Force Field, causing the bullet to deflect along an invisible energy barrier, missing the target’s vital points entirely.
However, Shawn’s second bullet hit the target, and amid the sudden flash of blood, the creature was shot in the chest. A barrage of bullets then struck the target, one bullet hitting its head directly, causing its skull to burst open instantly.
Instant kill!
Both of them were transcendent beings on the Wizard Path, and that creature couldn’t withstand more than Shawn could; a headshot almost certainly meant death.
Whoosh!
The sound of arrows cutting through the air echoed.
All of this happened in an instant. The two Lizardman hunters were also quick to react, with one swiftly drawing a war bow and nocking not just one arrow, but three, while the other followed closely with two arrows at once.
Multi-shot!
Bows and arrows were more stealthy compared to firearms, but they had a drawback: their attack speed was not as swift as firearms. Shawn had already finished shooting while they were just about to take their shots.
Without hesitation, Shawn rolled to dodge, with nine identical figures simultaneously rolling to evade.
At this point, the enemy was undoubtedly still somewhat bewildered since they couldn’t ascertain Shawn’s true body. They could only randomly choose among the nine targets. Arrows pierced the air with incredible precision, the Ranger Path’s abilities being exceptionally powerful early on, with nearly every arrow hitting a vital area of a mirror image.
A fifty-fifty chance, life and death in a split second!
At this moment.
The Goddess of Fortune seemed to favor Shawn, as five arrows all struck the mirror images, causing them to shatter instantly. Yet Shawn’s true body remained untouched, and with three remaining mirror images, he suddenly stood up, launching a furious storm of shots, directly blowing off the head of one of the Lizardman hunters.
Another instant kill.
Flesh-side enhancements could only withstand bullets after elevation.
The other, more robust and mutated Lizardman hunter, was hit by five bullets, yet still managed to draw and nock arrows again. The instincts of life and death made it aware it had no chance for melee combat with Shawn. Upon shooting, it locked onto one of the targets found to be Shawn’s real body.
The enemy was truly powerful!
In this clash lasting less than three seconds, it somehow found Shawn’s true body among the mirror images.
Bam!
A shot from the Invisible Hand hit the opponent’s arm. The intense pain caused it to falter in its shooting, with an arrow narrowly missing, brushing past Shawn’s shoulder. A streak of fresh blood emerged, and his right arm immediately felt numb, with the flesh at the wound darkening as if it were rotting.
