Bizarre Realm-Chapter 131 - 3: Go Big or Go Home! (Part 2)
This is the Extraordinary Relics: Poisoned Arrow!
Under intense pain, Shawn’s half-body was already paralyzed, but the Invisible Hand behind him remained unaffected. He emptied out the bullets directly, and the last two bullets hit the enemy’s forehead. With a bang, the burly Lizardman Hunter slowly fell.
"Poisoned!"
Without hesitation, Shawn activated the mysterious knowledge in his brain, unleashing the power of the Curios on his body. The paralysis gradually faded, and the toxicity was temporarily suppressed.
There was simply no time to think.
Shawn pulled out a dagger from the Witch King’s Ring, gritting his teeth as he cut off the rotten flesh on his arm. The intense pain made him tremble all over. After digging out the decayed flesh from the wound, he quickly bandaged himself, then took out the Butcher’s Endless Wine, gulping down a third of it in one go.
This was the most useful Curios in his hand. In approximately three days, the Blood Wine inside would automatically refill.
At this moment, Shawn was no longer concerned about the pollution of flesh.
He quickly ran towards the enemy’s corpse, loading bullets as he went, and before approaching, he shot once to be sure.
Bang.
No reaction.
Only then did Shawn breathe a sigh of relief, swiftly scavenging the bodies of the two enemies. One of them surprisingly didn’t have any condensed Extraordinary Relics. He dug out the eyeballs of the burly Lizardman Hunter, stripped off the Curios equipment they wore, and then ventured into the mudflat, quickly locating the corpse of the freak Six.
Indeed, it’s the Wizard Path.
This hunched monster had even more Curios, a Magic Staff, two Talismans, and several other bizarre items, seemingly sacrificial tools, all emitting obscure, polluted Spiritual Light.
Splutter.
Shawn gritted his teeth as he pried open the enemy’s skull with a dagger, then excavated the brain. The monster’s Extraordinary Essence gathered in the brain, directly transforming it into an Extraordinary Relics.
"Must leave now."
Shawn fumbled in the filthy swamp, searching for any Relics that might have fallen into the puddles. When he stood up, he looked as if he had been rolling in mud, covered in foul sludge, with tar-like stains spreading.
"Time to change locations."
After this ambush, Shawn couldn’t stay nearby any longer.
The Magic Power within him had already been significantly depleted. A wizard must never exhaust their last bit of magic, or they’ll have no means of self-defense.
"Fortunately, the poisoning is not deep, the enemy’s poison mainly has a paralyzing effect."
With the effect of the Curios, Shawn’s right arm was not significantly affected, and he could move freely. His decisive action of excising the rotten flesh and allowing blood to flow should have reduced the toxin’s impact.
Shawn did not return to the original hillside.
Instead, he circled around to enter the plains, then selected a hillside location with a relatively clear view to hide, laying directly on the ground to rest.
If any enemies tracked him, this location was relatively easy to spot.
The wound healed rapidly, with the Endless Wine left by the Butcher being almost a perfect recovery tool, aside from the flesh pollution. His wound had scabbed, and he even felt an itch that might be the flesh regenerating.
The Curios on those two Lizardman Hunters were quite similar, consisting entirely of Talismans, likely to enhance survival capability. The heavily mutated big guy dropped an advancement Relic, its Eye Stems, which is the core material for advancing the Ranger Path, of little use to Shawn but could be sold for a tidy sum in Abyss City. These types of Extraordinary Relics often contain the Origin Power corresponding to their path, with the Ranger Path focusing on the enhancement on the flesh side, mainly improving agility and remarkable vision.
The key Relics came from the Wizard monster; Shawn has extracted its brain.
Mysterious knowledge was in turmoil, eager to go.
Yet Shawn sensed a corrupt aura, as there were remnants of the monster’s consciousness fragment within the brain.
"Damn! I’m going all out!"
Shawn set up the extraction ritual on the spot, using the brain as core material for promoting to a wizard or directly using his knowledge to digest the monster’s knowledge. Yet it’s almost a given that this monster’s brain was a highly polluted Extraordinary Relic.
High risk, high reward!
In Shawn’s hands, the monster’s dark red brain slowly melted, akin to liquefying meat sauce, with part of the Extraordinary Essence dissipating in the air, while another part surged into Shawn’s body through the ritual’s decomposition.
The mysterious knowledge in Shawn’s brain was agitated, devouring the knowledge contained within the brain, as spells manifested within Shawn’s consciousness along with the decomposed and digested knowledge.
It was as if Shawn had consumed the monster’s Spellbook!
Yet as the price for all this, an eerie fragmentary consciousness of the monster suddenly emerged in Shawn’s mind.
It sought to take control of Shawn’s consciousness, even entering his brain to manipulate the body.
"I can kill you once, I can kill you twice!"
The Spiritual Light in Shawn blazed, the mysterious knowledge in his brain poured forth, directly suppressing and assimilating the incomplete Spirituality enclosed within the absorbed knowledge, as if a specter of the monster had entered his body.
The monster’s Personality Fragment was killed repeatedly by Shawn until there was not a trace of Spirituality in the absorbed knowledge.
