Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 748 - 627: What are you worried about? (Third Update)
Shui Hui looked nervously at Yi Luowa, "You’re pregnant, why are you still rushing around? Be careful with your body!"
Yi Luowa smiled and said, "Auntie, I’m fine, the baby is strong too. These past two months, I’ve been busy in Haotian, and the baby has been very well-behaved. I haven’t had any adverse reactions so far."
"Now that you mention it, I remember – that day, your uncle and I were watching TV, and we saw you gave a speech. Kid, you’re incredible. A young girl like you dealing with such big issues, you handled things even better than most men."
Yi Luowa sighed softly, "Auntie, it’s not like I had another choice. Who could’ve expected Danton to be held hostage on a pirate ship for the past two months? If we’d found him earlier, I wouldn’t have been forced into this role."
"It must have been so difficult for you. At least Danton has been found now."
"I owe it all to your family." Yi Luowa smiled, "Especially An Yang. She truly cared about Danton—without her, we might not have saved him."
Shui Hui chuckled, "That child—whenever she sees something beautiful, she can’t take her eyes off it. She’s had that habit since she was little."
Yi Luowa laughed along. When the elevator door opened, everyone gradually walked out.
As soon as they arrived at the restaurant, Yi Luowa immediately began ordering food for Ruan An Yang and Kou’er. She knew Kou’er’s preferences, but for Ruan An Yang, she specifically asked Shui Hui about her taste.
Seeing Yi Luowa so busy while pregnant, Shui Hui felt embarrassed and stood up.
Tong Airui smiled and said, "Auntie, I’ll help her. You sit down."
Tong Airui quickly caught up with Yi Luowa, supporting her as they walked out the door. "I can handle these things—why do you insist on managing everything yourself?"
"I feel uneasy, afraid Mom and Dad will notice something’s wrong." Yi Luowa pursed her lips. "You heard what Old Seven said, didn’t you? I’m scared."
Tong Airui tenderly patted her head. "It’s alright. Danton isn’t that fragile. Besides, medical science is so advanced these days. Even if there are small problems, they can be treated."
"I don’t want him to have even the smallest issue."
"Then we’ll follow your lead. He won’t have any complications."
"I’m not a doctor. Does what I say count for anything?"
"You’re a saint—your words have power!"
Yi Luowa heard the teasing in his tone and glared at him fiercely.
Tong Airui grinned. "What else do you need taken care of? I’ll handle it. You just wait here for me."
"No need for you—watch out!" A figure came rushing toward them. Yi Luowa instinctively reached out and pulled Tong Airui to her side.
The person glanced at the two of them, mumbled a quick "Sorry," and then rushed into the private room they had just left.
"What happened?!" Yi Luowa’s heart raced, her first thought being that something had happened to Danton.
Tong Airui helped steady her and was about to turn back when Ruan Honglang walked out with that person.
"Uncle Ruan, what’s going on?"
Ruan Honglang frowned slightly. "Ten pirate ships have been spotted in the waters near Crescent Island."
"Ten ships?" Tong Airui frowned deeply. The simultaneous appearance of so many pirate ships felt highly irregular. After a moment of thought, he said to Yi Luowa, "You go back to the private room and sit. I’ll go with Uncle Ruan to investigate."
Ruan Honglang shook his head. "Airui, no need for you to come. Whether it’s ten pirate ships or more, none of them will leave here alive. Just go back to the private room and keep everyone calm for their meal."
Yi Luowa glanced at Tong Airui. "Could they be coming for us?"
"Highly likely."
"Dad..." Ruan Hanmo walked out holding a cellphone. Upon seeing Tong Airui and Yi Luowa, he stopped mid-sentence.
"You’ve received the news too?"
"Yes, Little Wolf called me..."
Ruan Honglang, noticing his son hesitating, sternly said, "Airui already knows. Speak your mind."
"Little Wolf told me that the flags on these pirate ships are the same as the one we sank the other day."
Ruan Honglang raised an eyebrow. "Here for revenge, then?"
"Let them come! We’ll fight!" said Ruan Hanmo decisively. "I’ll gather the crew. You handle organizing the clansmen." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Can you tell me your numbers?" Tong Airui asked, a little uneasy. The island absolutely couldn’t fall—his closest family was all here.
"We don’t need many people. This is about weaponry." Ruan Hanmo chuckled. "Don’t worry. Wait for our good news."
Tong Airui nodded, watching as the father and son walked away. He then took out his phone to call Leng Chuting. After all, this was Z Nation’s territory; directly intervening might not be appropriate.
Upon receiving his call, Leng Chuting immediately made a decision. "Don’t worry. I’ll send reinforcements right away."
"Thank you, Chu Ting Jie."
Leng Chuting laughed. "Hearing you say ’thank you’ is rare! I’ve got to notify my uncle Ruan before deploying troops. Don’t want to get scolded later."
"Alright."
Tong Airui hung up the phone and turned to Yi Luowa.
Yi Luowa pouted. "There won’t be any issues, right?"
"As long as Chu Ting Jie steps in, there definitely won’t be."
Tong Airui sounded confident, but once the fighting began, they quickly realized they had underestimated their enemy!
These weren’t ordinary pirates—they were clearly a well-trained military force.
What military force?! Tong Airui was furious. He led his men to the front lines.
After a full day and night of fierce battle, they finally defeated the "pirates." Out of the ten ships, only one managed to escape.
Ruan Honglang wanted to pursue, but Tong Airui quickly stopped him. "Uncle Ruan, leave that ship to Chu Ting Jie. Let’s interrogate the prisoners to find out who these soldiers really are."
Ruan Honglang hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Hanmo, mark the remaining ship’s coordinates and send them to Chu Ting. Have her eliminate it from a distance."
"Yes!" Ruan Hanmo responded, promptly heading off to make arrangements.
Ruan Honglang turned to Tong Airui. "You haven’t slept in over a day. Go get some rest. I’ll personally handle questioning the prisoners and update you as soon as there’s any news."
Tong Airui hesitated before saying, "Alright, then I’ll go check on the hospital."
Tong Airui returned to the hospital with his group. Danton hadn’t woken up yet, and the Queen and Emperor of Haotian were standing by the window, gazing at their son in the ward.
Ruan An Yang, sitting on a bench with her knees hugged to her chest, was dozing off. Hearing footsteps, all three of them turned to look.
The Emperor of Haotian asked in a deep voice, "You’re back. How’s the situation over there?"
"Nine ships destroyed; one is fleeing but won’t last long."
"That’s good." The Queen of Haotian sighed. "This trouble is probably because of us, right?"
"The interrogation hasn’t started. I came to check on Danton first. Ruan Island Master will notify us after they uncover anything."
Ruan An Yang rubbed her eyes. "Brother Airui, were there many casualties on our side?"
"Not many... An Yang, why are your eyes so red?" Tong Airui quickly walked over to her.
Ruan An Yang rubbed her eyes again. "I’m fine. Maybe I didn’t rest well."
The Queen of Haotian looked at the little girl compassionately and said to Tong Airui, "This child’s been here the entire time—two nights and one day without sleep."
Tong Airui frowned slightly. "Go rest now. I’ll call you when Danton wakes up."
Ruan An Yang shook her head. "I’m not tired or sleepy. I’ll just wait for him to wake up here."
Tong Airui sighed helplessly. "It’s the same no matter where you wait."
Tears welled up in Ruan An Yang’s eyes and then fell. "Brother Airui, don’t make me leave. I’ll go as soon as he wakes up. I won’t disturb his rest."
"An Yang, your brother Airui doesn’t mean it that way. We’re all just worried about you." Yi Luowa walked out of the VIP ward next door.
"I’m fine. Really, I’m alright. I just want to wait. Why won’t the handsome brother wake up?"
Yi Luowa came over and gently patted her head. "We’re all waiting, but he’s still unconscious. There’s nothing we can do about it."
Seeing his wife’s puffy eyes and red sclera, Tong Airui asked worriedly, "You haven’t slept either?"
"I did. But the cannon fire was so loud..."
"Now that it’s quiet, you all should get some rest. I’ll stay here with Danton."
"You’ve been awake for a full day too. You all go rest—I’ll stay." Little Raindrop appeared. "I did manage to nap this morning during the ceasefire."
The Emperor and Queen of Haotian exchanged a glance before heading into the room. At this moment, neither could afford to collapse—if they did, the burden would fall squarely on their daughter’s shoulders again.
Yi Luowa saw her parents enter the VIP ward and gently nudged Ruan An Yang.
Ruan An Yang clutched the bench tightly. "Sister Luowa, I’m not going to rest."
"Sigh..." Yi Luowa let out a soft sigh and followed Tong Airui into another room.
Tong Airui didn’t see his father or the children and asked curiously, "Where are Dad and the kids?"
"Dad and Uncle took them to the hotel—it’s quieter there, and the kids can sleep more comfortably."
Tong Airui froze. "How many people went with them?"
"Dad’s entire escort team went along." Yi Luowa blinked. "Husband, what are you worried about?"
