Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 749 - 628: Denton, Your Mom is Calling You Home for Dinner (1)
"It’s nothing, I was overthinking it. Dad has way more experience in this than I do." Tong Airui smiled helplessly. "When we were kids, even going to school required heavy armed escorts. Just imagine the scene. In such terrible conditions, he still managed to keep us safe and raise us. Now, with something so minor, he’ll definitely handle it."
Yi Luowa grabbed his sleeve, "The way you’re talking is making me anxious. Call Dad."
"No need to call, we’re back." Long Che walked in, carrying Sangyu in his arms.
"Dad, how come you’re back?" Tong Airui let out a long sigh of relief when he saw his father.
"I was thinking about Danton and didn’t want you all to worry about us." Long Che set Sangyu down. She ran over in little steps and hugged her mother’s leg tightly. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Where’s your brother?" Yi Luowa asked with a smile, patting her daughter’s little head.
"With Uncle." Sangyu tilted her head up to look at her mother.
"Your uncle-in-law is holding Ziyan and your sister in the ICU." Long Che glanced out the door and lowered his voice. "Has An Yang been sitting outside this whole time?"
"Yes, no matter how much we try to persuade her, she won’t listen." Yi Luowa smiled helplessly. "That child cares so much about Danton. If Danton ever returns to Haotian in the future, what will she do then?"
Long Che chuckled. "That’ll depend on Danton."
"Dad, stop speculating. An Yang is still so young." Tong Airui shook his head at his father.
Long Che smiled and was just about to say something when Tong Airui’s phone rang.
Tong Airui quickly answered the call. "Uncle Ruan, do you have any news?"
"Yes. The military from R Country—after your kingdom fell, some of them escaped and became pirates. One of their ships was sunk by Han Mo and An Yang, and now they’ve come seeking revenge."
Tong Airui furrowed his brow slightly. "Was the ship that brought down the plane also theirs?"
"Yes."
"Uncle Ruan, could you find out why they shot down that plane, and why they took Prince Danton onto their ship?"
"I actually did look into that. Shooting down planes is something they regularly do—mostly cargo planes. This time, they wanted to try something different. As for why Prince Danton ended up on their ship, they don’t know either. After all, no one on that ship survived."
"Thank you, Uncle Ruan."
"Don’t mention it. I was worried you were waiting for my update and couldn’t rest properly, so I called as soon as I got some information. Get some rest. If there’s more news, I’ll come by the hospital this afternoon to let you know."
"Alright, sorry to trouble you." Tong Airui hung up the phone and turned to his father. "They’re not targeting us; it’s revenge they’re after."
Long Che nodded. "That lessens our burden of guilt a bit. Go share this news with your father- and mother-in-law."
"I’ll go. Let Tong Airui rest for a while." Yi Luowa held Sangyu’s tiny hand and stepped out the door.
"Mommy~" Ziyan’s big eyes lit up the moment he saw his mother.
"Don’t make your uncle-in-law carry you all the time. Come down and play by yourself." Yi Luowa beckoned to her son.
"It’s fine, he’s not heavy. Besides, I can’t see him properly unless I hold him." Mi Xiaotian chuckled, adjusting Ziyan upward in his arms.
Yi Luowa gave a soft smile. "I’m heading to your grandmother’s room. Are you coming?"
"Coming!" Ziyan wiggled out of Mi Xiaotian’s arms and ran towards his mother.
Yi Luowa led the two children to her mother’s room.
When Queen Haotian saw the two little ones return, she greeted them with a smile. "Luowa, just in time. I needed to discuss something with you."
"Mom, what do you want to discuss?"
"The Ruan family saved Danton. We need to show our gratitude. What do you think we should give them? Money seems too tacky, and they don’t need it."
Yi Luowa thought for a moment. "They’re devotees of Mazu. Our family has that Mazu golden statue over two meters tall. How about we gift that to them?"
"That works, but wouldn’t it be a bit too little?"
"Then we could also offer them some investment projects. That way, it’s mutually beneficial. Sounds good, right?"
"I’ve thought about that too, but would they even be interested in heading over to our side?"
"Don’t worry. Let Tong Airui talk to them about it." Yi Luowa gently patted her mother’s hand. "By the way, Mom, Uncle Ruan just called. He said those people weren’t targeting us, just seeking revenge."
Queen Haotian sighed deeply. "Ah... Feuds like these—sometimes you don’t even know you’ve made enemies, but they turn up at your door regardless."
"Heehee... Grandpa, your beard tickled me!"
"Heehee... Pull it out!" Ziyan said as he and his sister piled on top of their grandfather.
Yi Luowa was startled and quickly called out, "You two, are you rebelling?!"
"Let them be. I’m just playing with them." Emperor Haotian laughed as he protected the two children. "I’m so glad you brought them here. Otherwise, I’d be bored to death. That rascal uncle of yours does nothing but sleep—he doesn’t even keep me company."
