Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 684 - 579: Are You Out of Your Mind? (Part 3)
Joyina pouted and said, "Fourth Brother, I know you’re talking about me. I promise from now on I won’t tell my dad or my brother anything."
Tong Airui furrowed his brows slightly, got up, and went upstairs.
Seeing him leave, Joyina pursed her lips, "Luowa, I didn’t mean anything bad, honestly! Why is he still mad?"
Yi Luowa helped her sit down, pressed her lips into a smile, and said, "He’s been like this forever, don’t take it to heart."
"No, she has to remember this!" Mi Chenshuo said with a serious face, "Our big family comes from different countries. Some things, it’s not like my uncle and Fourth Brother can guard everyone like thieves. So, everyone needs to be more aware."
"Don’t talk about ’everyone.’ If you’re going to criticize, criticize me alone. I’ve honestly never told my dad or my brother about anything before—this time was the last." Joyina said as she stood up, "I’m tired, I’m going to rest."
"Darling, if you leave just like this, I’ll feel uncomfortable." Yi Luowa looked at Joyina with puppy eyes.
Joyina’s mouth twitched, "Don’t pretend to be pitiful with me! I’m not mad, I’m genuinely tired."
"Connie, Youyou, what do you two think?" Yi Luowa turned to look at the two pregnant women.
Connie said with a smile, "Joyina isn’t a petty person; she’s definitely not mad."
Youyou pursed her lips, "Not necessarily. Look at her little face—cloudy enough to rain."
"Rain!"
"Drop!"
The two little ones playing with toys blurted out a word each.
Joyina smiled and rubbed Sangyu’s head, "Missing Auntie Raindrop? She just left, didn’t she?"
"Hmm~" Sangyu hummed softly, raising her hand to grab Joyina’s hand, "No, no, no!"
"Not letting me touch you, or not missing Auntie?"
"No, no, no!" Sangyu puffed up her cheeks, removed Joyina’s hand, and patted her own hair, "Bad!"
"She’s worried her hairstyle will be messed up by your touch." Tong Yao laughed as she tidied Sangyu’s hair and re-clipped the bear hairpin back onto her head.
"Your mom isn’t even this vain!" Joyina plopped herself down between Sangyu and Ziyan.
Sangyu turned her head and hid in her grandma’s arms, "Not vain!"
Tong Yao smiled as she patted Sangyu’s little face, "Your Third Aunt won’t mess with your hair again. Our Sangyu is always beautiful."
Sangyu glanced at Joyina, tentatively sat up, and only straightened her back when she realized Joyina truly wasn’t touching her.
Ziyan puffed up his cheeks and gave Joyina a push, "Leave!"
Joyina turned to look at him, then grinned at Yi Luowa and said, "Now, this isn’t me wanting to leave—it’s your son kicking me out!"
"You’re sitting in a spot where they don’t separate. You had to squeeze yourself between the two of them!" Yi Luowa laughed as she came over, helped Joyina up, and said, "I’ll just take you back to your room."
Yi Luowa accompanied Joyina to the bedroom. As soon as they entered, Yi Luowa immediately started apologizing to Joyina.
Joyina laughed and playfully punched her, "What’s with you! I’m really not mad; Fourth Brother is right—I’ll pay more attention in the future."
"For truly big issues, neither my dad nor Tong Airui would discuss them at home. This time it’s not aimed just at you. Did you not hear Tong Airui directly call my name? I’m exposed to the most secrets, so I have to manage my own mouth first."
"Only someone with your good temper could put up with your family’s drama! Oh, by the way, Aunt Zhi Lan called, said she’d welcome us to promote our work at Haotian."
"You’re still tagging along for publicity tours?"
"It’s no big deal; I’m already tame compared to others. Did you see Youyou? Yesterday I saw her climbing trees again."
"Climbing trees? What for?"
"She spotted a bird nest, apparently. If my mom hadn’t yelled at her, she wouldn’t have come down."
"I’ll deal with her later!" Yi Luowa huffed with anger, "And you better watch yourself! Look at Connie—she’s always peacefully nurturing her pregnancy."
"Who can follow her example? She’s a true blue-blooded lady. How could the rest of us compare? We’re all wild ones." Joyina chuckled and turned her back to Yi Luowa, "Help me with my zipper, then get on with your business."
"If I steal my Third Brother’s job, he won’t be mad at me, right?" Yi Luowa laughed as she helped her undo the zipper.
Joyina hesitated, "Luowa, I suddenly remembered something. Do you think your Fourth Brother might be mad because my brother took his job?"
"What job did your brother take from him?" Yi Luowa handed over the pajamas hanging on the rack.
Only after putting on the pajamas did Joyina say, "This time when the operation against R Country was set up, my brother hadn’t been included. But after he found out, he directly contacted your dad."
Yi Luowa raised her brow slightly but didn’t respond.
Outside the door, Mi Chenshuo held the doorknob, his mouth twitching fiercely. Just as he was about to leave, Youyou popped up behind him, giggling mischievously, "Third Brother, if you don’t go in, I’ll go in."
Yi Luowa heard noises outside and smiled as she opened the door. Mi Chenshuo didn’t enter, but Youyou slipped in, "Sis, with you here, Third Brother doesn’t dare come in. Come on, hang out in my room instead."
Yi Luowa glanced out the door, then helped Youyou leave the room.
Mi Chenxuan was lying on the bed lost in thought. Seeing them enter, he sat up smiling, "How old are you now, still needing your Fourth Sister-in-law to escort you back?"
Yi Luowa fumed, "Xuan, you need to keep an eye on your Youyou. I heard she climbed a tree yesterday."
Mi Chenxuan’s face dropped instantly, "Youyou, have you lost your mind!"
Youyou shot Yi Luowa a glare, "I knew it! You’re not being kind—you’re here to tattle!"
"You dare glare at me!" Yi Luowa poked her forehead lightly, "I’m concerned about you!"
"You all left. I was bored by myself and saw a bird nest about to fall, so I went up to prop it up. Why are you all making such a big fuss?"
"How dare you talk back!" Mi Chenxuan stood up, "How can I trust you like this..."
Mi Chenxuan’s words abruptly stopped. Youyou froze, "Finish your sentence! Trust me with what? Don’t tell me you’re going on a mission again!"
Mi Chenxuan turned away, showing just his back, "It’s not a mission."
Youyou grabbed his sleeve and pulled him back, "What do you mean ’not a mission’? What’s the problem then?"
Yi Luowa sighed, pushed open the door, and walked out. Mi Chenxuan had just passed the initial test for Saint-Cyr School, and he’d been agonizing over whether to study abroad. No one could make the decision for him—he’d have to discuss it with his wife himself.
The living room was empty. Yi Luowa glanced upstairs and walked briskly up.
Her mother-in-law’s bedroom door was ajar. Just as she approached, she heard her mother-in-law scolding Tong Airui.
"You’ve caused trouble for yourself, and now Luowa has to clean up after you. Couldn’t you discuss this privately with your Third Brother?"
"This is killing two birds with one stone, letting the others understand the rule as well. Our family needs to establish this principle!" Tong Airui turned to his father, "Dad, don’t you think I’m right?"
Long Che nodded with a smile, "Right."
Tong Yao glared at the father and son, "You two are always right, but it’s unfair to Luowa."
"Luowa has a good relationship with them; she can handle it. Our international family gathering together is like a global house party. Even the daughters-in-law are princesses—we need rules!" Long Che glanced at the doorway and continued, "Luowa does a great job. She deals with top-secret matters, yet you never see her sharing any of it with her parents."
Yi Luowa twitched the corner of her mouth, knocked on the door, and walked in, "Dad, give me another job. I’m afraid I’ll have moments where I can’t keep my mouth shut."
Long Che smiled and looked towards his son—that look clearly said, "Your problem to fix!"
Tong Airui chuckled, "Where do you want to go?"
"I think the car factory suits me better."
"But I think it’s best for you to stay by my side so I can keep an eye on you anytime!" Tong Airui laughed and ruffled her hair, "Let’s not talk about this anymore. Later tonight, we’ll sit down and discuss it properly."
