Chapter 517: Chapter 444 I Really Didn’t See Anything (First Update)_2

"You’re with the Divine Eagle?!" Park Shunyan asked incredulously.

"Yes!" Yi Luowa smiled and tilted her head to look at Mi Chenshuo. "Third Brother, I assigned those two to Bert. Everyone’s been busy these days, Bert’s the only one with a bit of downtime."

Mi Chenshuo nodded, "Alright, you handle it. Which office is Bert in? I’ll go check on him."

"Last one down the hallway. You all go ahead first; I’ll grab something from Tong Airui." Yi Luowa said as she lightly knocked on Tong Airui’s office door and stepped inside.

Park Shunyan kept watching her enter before furrowing his brow and asking, "She called you Third Brother? Is she your sister? But your only sister is the Princess of Nation S, isn’t she?"

Mi Chenshuo shot him a sideways glance. "She’s my sister-in-law! Don’t even think about making a move on her! She’s someone you can’t afford to mess with."

"Sister-in-law? She doesn’t look very old—she’s married?" Park Shunyan clearly wasn’t taking Mi Chenshuo’s warning seriously.

Mi Chenshuo dragged him forward quickly by two steps before warning in a low voice, "Don’t think you can flirt with anyone just because you’re the Prime Minister’s son. She’s Airui Aldrich’s wife. If you want to stay alive, you’d better behave yourself!"

Park Shunyan angrily shook his hand off. "If you mention my status again, I’ll quit acting!"

"Quitting would save me the trouble; I’d love not to have to serve you, Your Highness!" Mi Chenshuo pointed toward the stairs and raised an eyebrow mockingly, "Stairs are over there. Take your time; I won’t see you off!"

"You want me gone? Well, I’m not leaving!" Park Shunyan huffed and strode straight toward Bert’s office.

Mi Chenshuo caught up and gestured to Bert’s office. "The gentleman in there is Prince Bert. Watch yourself!"

Park Shunyan shot him a glance. "Mi Chenshuo, I owe you. After this is settled, the next time we meet, we’re strangers!"

"I wish you’d treat me like a stranger already!" Mi Chenshuo lightly knocked on the office door, and only after hearing Bert’s reply did he push Park Shunyan inside. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Just as Mi Chenshuo entered Bert’s office, Mi Chenxuan arrived with Youyou, knocking directly on Tong Airui’s office door.

Yi Luowa jumped in surprise when she saw the two return. "Aren’t you two on your honeymoon? Why are you back?"

Mi Chenxuan chuckled, "We picked the wrong place for a honeymoon."

Tong Airui glanced up at him. "The prisoner’s been brought back?"

"Yes."

"That Sato Hara is insane, intercepting us at every turn. We split into four groups to confuse his team, and only then managed to bring the person back."

Tong Airui smirked slightly. "That’s a significant accomplishment for you. Now that the prisoner’s returned, you and Youyou should resume your honeymoon."

Mi Chenxuan replied seriously, "You’re shorthanded right now; how can we continue honeymooning! Captain, I request to rejoin the team. Please assign me a task!"

Tong Airui smiled, "Once this period is over, I’ll grant you a long vacation. You and Youyou can go out and enjoy yourselves properly."

Youyou chuckled, "Next time, we’ll definitely choose the right spot and make sure we’re not called back halfway for a mission."

"Next time you’re out, I promise not to assign you tasks." Tong Airui picked up the phone and dialed Colin. "The prisoner’s been brought back. You and Sato Hara can talk directly. Ask him if he wants his daughter or Sula Island."

"Understood!" Colin laughed upon hearing this.

Tong Airui was infected by Colin’s amusement and couldn’t suppress a smile as he looked over at Mi Chenxuan. "You both go get some rest; I’ll call you when there’s a mission."

"Understood." Mi Chenxuan pulled Youyou out of the office.

After the two left, Yi Luowa crossed her arms and stared fixedly at Tong Airui.

Tong Airui met her gaze and asked, "Something on your mind?"

Yi Luowa pouted. "You’re using Youyou too frequently! Can’t you give her some wages?"

Tong Airui’s deep eyes immediately sparkled with laughter. "She earns a mercenary’s annual salary every month."

Yi Luowa frowned and growled, "I knew it!"

"There’s no other way; she’s been insisting on joining Divine Eagle, but that’s completely unrealistic. This is the only way to satisfy her. Darling, we’ll only discuss You once this, alright?"

Yi Luowa took a deep breath. "My mom only has one daughter. You absolutely can’t let anything happen to her!"

"Of course. Unless it’s absolutely necessary, I won’t send her on missions. You knows her position is only known by you, me, and Old Eight. The less who know, the safer she’ll be. So, you understand..."

Yi Luowa reached out and forcefully grabbed his cheeks. "I don’t understand!"

With a "bang" followed by another "bang," the office door was abruptly opened and swiftly shut.

Yi Luowa let go of his cheeks, her face flushed. She whispered, "Who’s here?"

"Who else is that reckless?" Tong Airui raised his hand to rub his cheeks, chuckling. "Soon the whole building will know I’ve been domestically abused by you."

"Then hurry up and eliminate witnesses!" Yi Luowa said as she rushed to the door, yanked it open, and grinned mischievously at Colin, who was still in eavesdropping mode.

Colin chuckled awkwardly. "This old man’s eyesight isn’t what it used to be. I didn’t see anything, I swear! Please don’t eliminate me as a witness."

Yi Luowa rolled her eyes. "Of course you didn’t see anything—because I didn’t do anything!"

"Luowa, invite Uncle Colin in," Tong Airui called, eager for Colin’s undoubtedly good news.

Colin hurried inside. "Airui, Sato Hara wants his daughter. This good news can now be shared with King Muta and the Prime Minister. The rest is for them to handle."

"Good!" Tong Airui smiled broadly as he picked up the phone.

Colin chuckled and walked out the door.

Yi Luowa saw him escaping and quickly chased after him.

Colin heard footsteps behind him and quickened his pace without looking back.

Yi Luowa laughed at his retreating figure and jogged after him. "Why are you running?"

Colin laughed nervously. "I’ve got matters to deal with."

"Need any help?" Yi Luowa asked earnestly.

"No, no..."

Yi Luowa burst into laughter. "Uncle Colin, what are you so nervous about?"

Colin chuckled. "I’m afraid of getting eliminated as a witness."

"You’re our most respected Deputy Captain Colin. Who’d dare touch you? Tong Airui would skin them alive." Yi Luowa smiled. "If you don’t need help over there, I’ll head to Bert’s."

"Go ahead, go ahead, Staff Officer Yi. I truly didn’t see anything earlier."

Yi Luowa exchanged a glance with Colin, and the two broke into laughter. With the tension over conflict easing, everyone felt much lighter.

Yi Luowa entered Bert’s office and saw Mi Chenshuo still there. She smiled and said, "Third Brother, if you’re not busy, stay for lunch here. I’ll have them prepare something to send to the backyard. We’ll eat there. Old Eight and Youyou have returned."

Mi Chenshuo was startled. "They’re back already?"

"When they heard about the battle, Old Eight sacrificed his honeymoon to return." With outsiders present, Yi Luowa kept the details vague.

Bert laughed. "I’ll join you all in the backyard for lunch."

"If you don’t go, I’ll drag you along. The more the merrier." Yi Luowa smiled, "Let’s celebrate."

"The battle’s over?" Bert grinned.

Yi Luowa nodded with a smile.

Sitting to the side, Park Shunyan stared at Yi Luowa, captivated. He realized her profile was even more striking than her full face, especially when she smiled, her slightly upturned lips seemed to pull at both his gaze and his heart as if bewitched.
