Chapter 516: Chapter 444 I Really Didn’t See Anything (First Update)

"Handsome! But no matter how handsome he is, he’s still not as handsome as your third brother!" Joyina laughed out loud, her laughter crisp and delightful. "You should know who this is; he’s been famous for years now—the idol star from H Country, Park Shunyan."

"Him?" Yi Luowa scrunched her nose.

Joyina widened her eyes. "What’s that look for? You don’t like him? I spent a fortune to bring him here, don’t discourage me!"

Yi Luowa pouted. "Spending so much on him, you might as well let my third brother act alongside you instead."

"I would love for your third brother to play this role, but he’s retired now. No matter what, he just won’t agree to make a comeback." Joyina glanced at Yi Luowa’s military uniform and smiled, "Luowa, can you get me one of these uniforms too?"

"Sure, I’ll take you to pick one up. You know Park Shunyan’s size, right? Get him a set as well."

"I know. Let’s go." Joyina chuckled as she took Yi Luowa’s arm.

Yi Luowa led her to knock on Bert’s door. When Bert saw Yi Luowa, he greeted her with a smile, "Chief Yi, what brings you here today? Got some time to spare?"

Yi Luowa grinned and said, "Missed you, thought I’d come by and see you."

Bert immediately pretended to look "nervous." "Quick, shut the door! If Airui hears that, he’ll kill me."

Joyina burst out laughing. "Not shutting the door is probably better; if you shut it, rumors will start even if there’s nothing going on. Second Prince, I’m here to experience life—can you issue me two sets of uniforms?"

"I’ll have someone fetch them right away." This task clearly wasn’t part of Bert’s job, but with Sheng Duheng busy with frontline matters, Bert understood Yi Luowa’s reason for coming to him. He picked up the phone and called logistics.

Once Bert hung up, Yi Luowa asked, "Bert, with Tong Airui being busy, can you help me take care of Joyina and Park Shunyan over the next few days?"

Bert nodded with a smile. "No problem. Anything Chief Yi asks, I’ll make sure to complete the task."

Yi Luowa smiled at him. "They say the power of love is the greatest force—this time, I really believe it. Just look at you, your glib tongue is getting sharper every day!"

"Even if I have the gift of gab, I’m not as talented as your Airui. Otherwise, how come you ended up with him and not me!"

"Now you’re not afraid of Airui coming to kill you?" Joyina teased.

"He’s busy right now, no time to deal with me." Bert stood up with a grin and personally poured them two glasses of water. "Take a seat for a while; the clothes will be delivered shortly."

After Yi Luowa pulled Joyina to sit down, she asked, "Bert, have you set the date for your wedding with Princess Dean?"

"It should be next spring." Bert smiled faintly. "By then, your twins should be walking, right? Let them be my flower children."

Yi Luowa smirked. "By then, if they can crawl, that’ll be good enough!"

"Then should I wait a bit longer—until they can be flower children—before I get married?"

"Don’t keep waiting; my dear Grandpa Mutai is eager to hold his grandkids in his arms." Yi Luowa chuckled. "After so many trials and tribulations, you’ve finally made it through to a happy ending."

Bert smiled helplessly. "If it weren’t for Airui, who knows where I’d be right now."

"He only did what he was supposed to. He couldn’t possibly stand by and let his brother be framed!"

Bert sighed deeply, a hint of sadness washing over him.

Joyina pursed her lips. "Who doesn’t have a past? What’s done is done—let it go. If you keep wallowing in regret like this, I won’t stick around for this ’life experience’ you’re offering."

"Do you think I’m enthusiastic about having you here?" Bert said with a laugh. "Hey, you were a perfectly good Viscountess—why are you doing all this now?"

"You’re talking viscountess? She gave up being a princess for her ideals." Yi Luowa glanced at the time and said with a smile, "Joyina, where’s Park Shunyan stranded, why isn’t he here yet?"

"Not too far, he should be here soon." Joyina pouted slightly. "If you’re busy, just go ahead. I’ll stay here with Bert."

"I actually do have a document to proofread." Yi Luowa stood up. "I’ll go get it and review it here at Bert’s. That is, as long as Bert doesn’t mind us annoying him!"

Bert laughed. "With beauties around, it’s not annoyance—it’s a joy!"

Yi Luowa left the room with a smile and walked toward Tong Airui’s office. Just as she reached the door, Mi Chenshuo came upstairs with Park Shunyan.

Park Shunyan’s outfit today was much more normal compared to last time—his previous air of rebelliousness was gone. However, his black casual outfit today seemed to highlight his delicate, almost frail demeanor instead.

As soon as Park Shunyan saw Yi Luowa, he froze on the spot.

Yi Luowa smiled slightly. "Welcome, Mr. Park."
