Chapter 75: Chapter 75: I Don’t Care About You

Edith still couldn’t believe she’d lost her mind for saying such cruel things to Callum in front of Cliff. She couldn’t bear to imagine Callum crying alone in the office or not being able to eat in peace all day. She couldn’t even work peacefully because Callum kept calling her nonstop, to the point where she wanted to block him. Although she really wanted to talk to Callum, the current situation didn’t allow them to be as close as before.

It had been two hours since she had spoken with Cliff, and Edith was now focused on her work in her office before returning to her role as a nanny.

Hearing someone barge into the room startled her, her mouth dropping open. It was Callum. She was genuinely confused as to why he had suddenly come to her, after they had just argued in Cliff’s office.

"What’s the matter with you suddenly coming to me? Are you still not satisfied with my scolding?"

Callum grabbed his lover’s hand and quickly lifted her tiny body. "Edith, do you want to marry Cliff?"

"Do you still not understand what I meant?"

Callum slowly let his girlfriend sit at the desk. "Answer me, Edith! Do you want to marry him even though you don’t love him?!"

"You’re wrong, Callum! I married him because I love him!"

"I still don’t believe you!"

Callum aggressively devoured his lover’s lips, making them both gasp for breath. Although his lover wanted to let go, he deliberately devoured those red lips to vent his anger. He hated having those pure lips defiled by a bastard.

Of course, Edith wanted to keep up the act to avoid ruining her mission. She quickly pushed her lover away, wiping her lips, which were wet from his greedy devouring.

"Callum, are you crazy?!"

"Yeah, I’m really going crazy now because I saw you two trying to kiss in front of me! Plus, I was furious when I heard you wanted to marry Cliff!"

"It seems you can’t think straight if I decide to marry another man. And you’re the same! You’ll end up marrying Arabella! You also kissed Arabella openly at that time."

Callum rolled his eyes, placing his hands on his hips. "Didn’t you have no problem with that news before? Why are you bringing it up again now?"

"I’m actually very disappointed by the news. I’ve been pretending to be nice to you all this time so you wouldn’t have to feel guilty. I’m so sick of having to put on an act in front of you all the time!"

"So, you’ve been hiding it from me all this time?" Callum touched his girlfriend’s arms with a pleading look. "Edith, I need you to give me another chance. I can fix everything. I will swear once again that I did not kiss that snake woman at that time!"

"No. It’s too late now. You and I were never meant to be together." Edith slowly released her lover’s hand. "I know you’ve been trying to contact me about this. That’s why I purposely didn’t answer your calls. But when it comes to children and work, I still want to communicate with you."

Callum let out a heavy sigh. "Aren’t you going to regret everything?"

"Yes, I won’t regret it. Besides, I don’t want to see your face right now! I have to finish the draft of my summer clothing line soon and present it to my investors. I think you’re a nuisance now!"

"Okay, I won’t bother you anymore. But I still won’t let you marry Cliff! I’ll definitely come see you when I have some free time."

"Go now, Callum! I don’t want to talk to you any longer."

"Edith, if you need someone to talk to, I still want to be your friend."

"I don’t care about you anymore! Now I’m so sick of seeing your face!"

Callum had been openly dumped by his girlfriend several times. Seeing her serious demeanor made him even more afraid. Was his hope now dashed because he’d lost to Cliff from the start?

As Callum walked out of Edith’s boutique, a spy was actually monitoring his movements again. The spy took multiple photos of Callum’s gloomy and anxious expression to report the good news directly to Diana.

Meanwhile, Diana is holding a meeting with the council members in a skyscraper. After the meeting, she summons the spy to her office to receive an update on Callum and Edith’s relationship.

Diana stared at all the photos her spies had taken with a sinister smile. She was so pleased to see the helpless expression on her stepdaughter’s face that she nearly fainted.

"It seems like the woman is serious about not wanting to have anything to do with Callum anymore," said the assistant with a sly smile.

"That woman is actually very weak. Even though I only gave her the video, her heart was already wavering. She’s truly easy to defeat."

"But if Cliff were to announce his engagement to Edith right away, are you sure you want to approve of their relationship?"

"I actually don’t mind if Edith becomes part of my family. As long as she can make Cliff happy, I’ll have to accept it. But I really hate that woman who can make Callum happy."

"After this, will Callum do something crazy like before?"

"If we pressured Cliff to announce their marriage immediately, I’m sure Callum would end his life immediately. No one would defend him anymore. Cliff would also take his son, as the DNA test has already proven it."

"But what if Callum still wants to pursue Edith? Surely you know how persistent he’s been."

"Of course, we have to intervene so Callum can’t usurp Cliff’s position again. If we need help, we can ask Arabella to make Callum even more helpless."

"I didn’t expect that woman to use such a clever trick to get Callum into her trap."

Diana stared out the window while sipping black coffee. "That’s what I’ve always loved about Arabella. She always uses every underhanded means to get what she wants."
