Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 74: I Want To Be With You, Cliff
Edith was shocked to witness a brutal scene showing Callum punching Cliff in the face openly in front of her. Edith didn’t mean to be afraid of Callum because she knew Callum would do it because Cliff had provoked him. However, in a situation like this, she couldn’t defend Callum because she had to keep her distance to make it look like she already had a grudge against him.
As Callum realized his girlfriend’s presence, his face paled. He immediately stopped his brutal actions and approached her. However, her retreating footsteps made him even more awkward and afraid she would hate him even more.
"Edith, this is not what you think."
Edith immediately looked away as she helped Cliff to his feet. "I don’t want to hear any more of your explanations."
"I actually-"
"I really dislike a man who uses violence to defend himself!" Edith crossed her arms, glaring at her nervous lover. "Are you blatantly accusing Cliff of threatening me?"
Cliff nodded, pointing at his stepsister. "She just accuses me of stealing you from her. And we haven’t spoken much lately, Edith."
"Actually, I came to you now because I had something to tell you. But now that Callum’s here, I can’t wait to tell you this important thing."
"What do you want to tell me?"
Without hesitation, Edith openly embraced Cliff’s hand, causing Callum to gasp for breath. Furthermore, he could see the look his lover was giving him now, as if she were declaring war on him. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Edith, what are you doing now?" Callum asked softly.
"I wanted to tell you too, I actually want to marry Cliff."
"Are you crazy? You want to marry a man who hurts your feelings?"
"Callum, I would rather marry Cliff than marry you because you have proven that you are a very scary man!"
Callum wanted to touch his lover’s shoulder, but his hand was immediately pushed away again.
"I don’t think I need to explain anything further, Callum. I’m sick of you chasing me even though I don’t love you!"
"Edith, how cruel of you to say something like that after all the happy moments we’ve had so far."
Edith laughed lightly, wrapping her arms around Cliff’s neck. "I never considered any of our moments to be happy. I truly regret ever having anything to do with you."
Cliff moved his lips closer to the red lips in front of him. "Callum, if you dare attack me again like that, I’ll report you to security and have you thrown out!"
Callum grinned at his girlfriend, extending his index finger. "Edith, I’m sure you’ll regret defending the wrong man! Even if you stubbornly want to marry Cliff, I still won’t let you!"
"Get out of here! I don’t want to see your face right now!" Edith shouted.
In the end, Callum left the room as Edith wished, slamming the door shut.
Now only Edith and Cliff were left in the room. Edith felt increasingly awkward seeing Cliff’s face so close to hers. She immediately pulled her head back and smoothed her slightly disheveled hair.
"Sorry, I suddenly came to you without telling you."
Cliff wrapped his right arm around his ex-fiancée’s slender waist. "Edith, I really want you to explain everything to me. Why did you suddenly want to marry me? Was it because of the DNA test results?"
"No. But I just realized that I should actually marry you, not Callum. Because over the past five years, you’ve helped me so much and you’re the only one who keeps me company when I’m lonely."
"But, hasn’t Callum been doing the same thing lately?"
"Even if he did the same thing, if he was the father of my twins, why didn’t he look for me earlier? Why did he have to abandon me? You were the only man who took the initiative to be there for me." A heavy sigh escaped her lips. "I’m sorry, Cliff. After I read the news on the internet about Callum, I realized what a jerk he is."
"So, you want to come back to me because that news hurt you?"
"I don’t want to be stupid anymore. Since Callum’s been proven to be a jerk, I have to leave him and try to take Erdin away from him."
A sinister smile crossed her face as she heard her ex-fiancé’s plan to commit such a crime for her sake. "But wouldn’t it be very difficult to take Erdin away from him? It seems he already considers him his own son."
"I have another way, but I can’t do it right now because I have to plan a strategy first so it doesn’t end up failing."
Cliff hugged her slender body tightly, slowly stroking her supple back. "You don’t have to rush. I just want you to stay safe. I’m actually worried something will happen to you if you overdo it."
"It’s okay. I wanted to get revenge on him anyway after he hurt my feelings."
"After hearing this exciting news, I can’t wait to introduce you to my mother as my fiancé. She’ll surely approve of our relationship."
"But will your mother like me? I haven’t been close to her all this time."
"It’s okay. For your sake, I’ll definitely do whatever it takes to make her like you."
Edith couldn’t hold back her tears because she really wanted to apologize to Callum for hurting his feelings again. She really wanted to be angry now. When would this all end? If she continued to hurt Callum’s feelings, he would become even more helpless.

Meanwhile, Callum returned to his office, roughly taking off his suit. His breath became increasingly labored as he continued to imagine his girlfriend nearly kissing his worst enemy in front of him. Furthermore, after being yelled at and humiliated by her, he had felt something was wrong with her since last night. Was it really Cliff who had been secretly inciting Edith but didn’t want to admit it?
"Damn it! Are those two kissing behind my back?!"
When Callum tries to contact his girlfriend, his calls are continuously rejected.
