As a result of today Edith hurt the feelings of the man she loved most, she couldn’t sleep and kept tossing and turning because her body was so hot. Even though she had set the AC temperature to the lowest temperature, she felt something strange with herself. So far, whenever she felt cold or hot, she was always pampered by Callum before bed. Every night they always shared stories, whether they were pleasant or not, Edith really missed those sweet moments. Moreover, Callum always entertained her tirelessly, making her sleep soundly every day since living with Callum.
Now she had no friends to talk to before bed. All she could do now was watch various videos sent by the teacher during family day events. When she played a video showing her running with Callum in perfect harmony, tears began to roll down her cheeks. Her right hand trembled even more as she touched the tablet screen, as if wanting to caress her handsome boyfriend’s cheek. What made her miss Callum even more every time she watched the video of their victory celebration. She could see Callum treating her like a real wife, no matter how many people were watching them.
After watching all the videos, she let out a sob, clutching her aching chest. "Callum, I’m sorry. I can’t bear to leave you either. But this is the only way you can live happily and have everything you want."
Having been unable to sleep all night, Edith wore a gloomy expression as she made breakfast for herself and her daughter before leaving for school. She was still unaccustomed to cooking breakfast for just the two of them; Callum usually prepared it most mornings.
Not only did Edith look gloomy in the morning, Eliana was also very lazy in finishing her breakfast, continuing to breathe heavily while staring at her plate which still had half a portion of her omelette left.
"Mom, I really miss Dad right now. He used to always feed me."
Edith tried to cheer her daughter up with a warm smile that morning. "My daughter, your father won’t spoil you forever. You’ll get used to it as you grow up. Do you want your friends to laugh at you?"
"But, I want to play with dad too."
"Eliana, if you continue to be stubborn, my mission will not go smoothly and you will not be able to stay with your father!"
"Am I not allowed to play with dad until now?"
"Eliana, for the sake of all of us, you should just listen to me."
Even though Edith had insisted that her daughter comply with her wishes, her daughter still couldn’t smile, having grown accustomed to Callum’s daily pampering. Likewise, Edith continued to sigh, as she missed Callum terribly all night. Even though they hadn’t even had a single argument, she admitted she couldn’t live without Callum.

Meanwhile, Callum couldn’t hold back his anger any longer. After dropping his son off at school, he went to The King’s Group building to meet his half-brother. He was certain that Edith’s sudden determination to distance herself from him was due to Cliff’s threats. The last time they had a problem was that the DNA test showed that Cliff and the twins were 99 percent compatible as father and son. Has Cliff still not given up on Edith?
Callum, unwilling to show his half-brother any more courtesy, barged into the president’s office and slammed the door, startling several people in the meeting with Cliff. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Can we talk now?!" Callum snapped.
Cliff briefly chatted with his two important guests to quickly end the meeting. After dismissing them, he invited his stepsister to sit on the sofa opposite him.
"Why did you suddenly barge into my room without knocking first? You don’t usually act like this."
Callum folded his arms and raised his head haughtily. "Were you the one who instigated Edith?"
"You seem to be in a bad mood right now, Callum. You ruined my important meeting, and now you’re recklessly accusing me of inciting Edith. You really don’t have good manners!"
"Now, I don’t want to waste any more time with you. I just want you to answer my question. Have you ever forced Edith to marry you lately?!"
Cliff smiled sarcastically at his half-brother, suddenly helpless because of a woman. Now he felt victory was in his hands. "Did you have a fight with Edith?"
"You don’t need to interfere in that matter! I’ll tell you one thing for sure. I won’t let you take anything I have."
"Seeing you suddenly go crazy over a woman, it seems I won’t have to go to all the trouble of persuading Edith to marry me." Cliff moved his head closer to his stepbrother’s earlobe for a moment. "You should think about it. Why is Edith suddenly acting cold towards you? Could it be that you don’t realize you’ve hurt her feelings and she’s already tired of you?!"
His blood pressure rose as those cruel words further fueled his anger. Callum grabbed his stepbrother’s shirt collar roughly, his left hand poised to punch his annoying face.
"I still won’t let you marry Edith! She will be mine forever! It’s no use threatening her with anything."
"You should look in the mirror! Edith must hate you for secretly cheating on her. If I were her, reading that news online, I’d be furious and hold a grudge against you."
"Edith would never do that. She’s always been loyal to me, and she’s always been loyal to me, unless someone dares to threaten her. I know you’re using dirty tricks other than falsifying DNA results!"
Cliff laughed casually, brushing a speck of dust off his stepbrother’s suit sleeve. "I don’t have time to resort to dirty tricks just to get Edith. You’re the one who resorted to dirty tricks to sleep with her and get her pregnant!"
"You bastard!" This time, Callum punched Cliff in the face without hesitation until Cliff’s body fell to the floor.
As this brutal scene unfolded, Edith also witnessed it firsthand as she entered the room.
