Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World-Chapter 31: Family Members
The dog beastman found that Xie Ziyuan’s gaze was too intimidating! He couldn’t help but swallow and asked, "Do you need me for something, Master Xie?"
Xie Ziyuan raised his eyebrows.
The dog beastmen became embarrassed as a realization dawned on him. Right, he was the one looking for Lin Yuyao earlier, claiming that he wanted her to deliver his message about his family to Xie Ziyuan. And now, he was standing in front of Xie Ziyuan himself.
He took a deep breath. "Master Xie, I want to talk about my family members. Do you still allow them to come here...?"
Originally, he watched to fetch them himself once he found out the location of the base. Now, he didn’t even dare to think about wandering out of the base by himself, much less bringing his family there!
The only person capable of it was only Xie Ziyuan. Since he promised he could bring his family to the base, he believed that Xie Ziyuan should be able to achieve it.
Su Yining’s message flashed in his eyes. "Let’s talk in another room."
The dog beastman nodded and followed Xie Ziyuan out of the warehouse. On the way, they met another beastman, an otter with water ability. He also wanted to bring his family to the base.
The four arrived at a room, which was similar to an assembly room. There were various tables and chairs there. This time, only four chairs were occupied.
Lin Yu’an had inexplicably joined as per Xie Ziyuan’s wishes.
"Do any of you have an ice ability as a family member?" Xie Ziyuan opened the conversation.
The two beastmen exchanged glances before the otter raised his hand. "Master Xie. My family are all otters. Most of them have water related abilities. My sister can control ice."
Xie Ziyuan inwardly was frowning. He couldn’t help but express his doubt. "Otter? Do you guys need to live in the water?"
It would be troublesome if they needed water. The underground base seemed to have a wide room decorated with a water type environment, most likely for water type species beastmen to live there.
They would need to find a huge source of water for that place, not to mention the dry moat...
It was somewhat troublesome now.
Leng Chuan, the otter seemed to have read Xie Ziyuan’s mind. He immediately shook his head. "We indeed need to splash ourselves with water once a while, Master Xie. A room with a bathroom is enough for us, or if there is nothing like that, we can still splash ourselves in the common bathroom."
Xie Ziyuan rubbed his chin, his eyes glinted with some calculation. He found some more pills on his table in the watchtower, and after he ate them, he could feel his power surging.
Even if other types of power were average, he could feel he was able to use his space ability with more ease now.
"Do you two live in the same place? Tell me where do you live." Xie Ziyuan nodded and gestured with his hand.
"No, we live in a different village, but our places are close to each other." Ma Yongcheng, the dog beastmen, answered.
"Describe to me your village environment. How far from the dangerous zone?" He continued to ask both of them.
The two answered Xie Ziyuan’s questions, adding details to each other’s words.
"My village is already a dangerous environment, Master Xie. Last time, the village chief asked some people to check the contamination level and it already rose to above 55%..." Leng Chuan began.
Ma Yongcheng told him similar things about his village’s condition. "Our villages shouldn’t be far from here. It is near the border of the dangerous zone. Most of the village members have left because of the contamination level."
It was most of the beastmen’s fate. They had nowhere to go once the land became uninhabitable and could only try to seek a decent place elsewhere. Most of them would die in the process... either succumbing to starvation or turning into fallen beastmen, and later zombie beasts.
In Leng Chuan and Ma Yongcheng’s case, they were trying to find habitable and relatively safe land in the forest near the dangerous zone. Alas, they were kidnapped before they could do that.
The two actually met each other because of the kidnapping case. They found each other familiar because they had passed by one another before. As it turned out, they shared the same goals and the few people who actually have families.
"Actually, we have gone for too long, Master Xie. They might have thought we were dead." Ma Yongcheng’s eyes looked a little red when he said this, imagining his wife and pups.
"I told them I was going to find food and return when it became dark. Now, more than two weeks have passed by..." Leng Chuan said in a daze.
Inside their heart, they also deeply feel worried about their family members’ condition. It had been so long and it was unknown whether they were alive or dead now. Without the protection from an adult male beastmen, what could they do?
Although they felt helpless, they didn’t dare to urge Xie Ziyuan.
"Alright." Xie Ziyuan’s cold eyes which seemed to penetrate all their secrets scanned their faces.
They were stunned, and subconsciously lowered their heads. It wasn’t that they were guilty of something, but because they felt suppression from his aura.
"Lin Yu’an, register all of their family members, we will depart tomorrow." Xie Ziyuan stood up. He reminded them once again. "Remember to come back here early in the morning."
Lastly, he turned to Lin Yu’an. "You should join us too, prepare yourself."
Lin Yu’an was surprised. He hesitated a little before he swallowed and eventually nodded. He had to learn to be strong to protect his sister, and Xie Ziyuan might just give him this chance.
"Thank you, Master Xie." The two beastmen were deeply touched, and they bowed to Xie Ziyuan’s direction, who was walking outside the room.
Once he was outside, he reappeared in the ice cellar. Some beastmen were still carrying the elephant meat’s pieces inside. He sniffed and determined that the ice should be able to hold on a few more days until they completely thawed.
As such, he went to find Zhou Yunhan.
"Wei Rong, you shameless–" Zhou Yunhan stopped, his eyes wide. He rubbed his eyes to make sure that he didn’t see wrong. "Master Xie?"
