Chapter 1089: Chapter 415: Sea Fortress (Part 2)

"Suzuki Fuma?" KIKI perked up, tilting her head to look: "Omni-directional wheels, vector thrust nozzles, gyroscope array, how did the rear exhaust turn into aerodynamic rudder surfaces, how can this motorcycle fly?"

"Of course."

Gedi stepped forward, standing in front of his motorcycle. With a single mechanical arm gesture, accompanied by the sound of scraping, the armored plates on both sides of the motorcycle slid open. The omni-directional wheels transformed to deploy four mini plasma thrusters. The exhaust manifold reassembled into a honeycomb-shaped nozzle, and the rear exhaust split into six tungsten steel spoiler blades, adjusting pitch/yaw angles through mechanical hydraulic linkage. Soon, the nozzle emitted a bright blue turbine jet, and the motorcycle slowly hovered in place.

"Impressive, a very comprehensive flight suite." KIKI’s eyes lit up.

"Such modifications, are they done by your sea black market?" Monica asked.

"Not just the black market, many large organizations have such modification capabilities," Gedi replied. "Of course, you can buy many things you want from the black market."

Upon hearing this, Lin Xian asked, "Where is this black market?"

"Polar Star Abyss Market, the largest sea black market, it’s a mobile market. If you’re lucky, you’ll easily hear their sea broadcast and find their location," Gedi said.

Lin Xian nodded, "Alright, let’s set off, time waits for no one."

Vanessa looked at Lin Xian with excitement in her eyes: "No problem, just follow us."

After speaking, she and Gedi mounted their motorcycles, put on their wind-proof helmets, and immediately took off. Lin Xian’s two squads followed suit, the propulsion systems of their Power Armor erupting with a fierce sound, as they all shot into the sky and followed the two flying motorcycles along the coastline.

The sea surface shimmered, like a shattered mirror. Lin Xian and his team piloted their Power Armor, speeding along the coastline of Sea Rock Island. Da Lou’s Black Dragon Battle Armor and Sha Sha’s Flying Peach were the two largest mecha devices, roaring in the air. From a bird’s-eye view in the sky, the terrain of Sea Rock Island’s west coast was fully visible. After leaving the city area, it transitioned into a jungle, followed by steep cliffs, with the rock walls eroded by seawater into numerous honeycomb holes. Then the flight path started diverging from the coastline toward the deep sea in the northwest.

"Wow, we’re flying over the sea, how amazing," Sha Sha piloted the massive Flying Peach bomber, with the plasma thrusters under the wings emitting a low hum.

Vanessa glanced back from her flying motorcycle, the corners of her mouth slightly curved under her helmet: "Be careful, don’t fall into the sea; if you drop into the 200-meter dark zone, you might easily disturb the underwater creatures."

"Using ships as shelters, if you encounter monsters, it’s probably hard to escape, isn’t it?" Lin Xian asked at this moment.

"Abnormal Bodies generally don’t directly attack our ships; they don’t conceive of sinking vessels and capturing prey like that. But you are right, encountering large Abnormal Bodies makes it hard for ship speed to outrun them, so we use Luring Agents. Once marked, the tagged combat personnel will leave the ship to fight, trying to protect the main vessel."

Gedi finished speaking, and continued to Lin Xian: "Strictly speaking, although the deep sea is dangerous, the chance of encountering Abnormal Bodies at sea is much lower than on land. The sea is vast, and those monsters tend to follow the seabed towards city congregations or island continental shelves, making it less likely for them to lock onto sea refuge survivors like us."

Lin Xian was a bit surprised upon hearing: "The most dangerous place turns out to be the safest?"

"Yes, which is why our Sea Group never approaches islands or shorelines. Only the external exploration team members frequently encounter danger. While at sea, we rarely face crises as long as we effectively use Luring Agents and maintain silence, most of the time we can defuse the danger."

"That’s quite smart," KIKI remarked, "Those Abnormal Bodies crawl onto land and head towards city clusters, whereas at sea, you rarely directly encounter them; I never thought of this."

"But I’m still afraid to stay on the sea," Sha Sha said at this moment. Looking down from the sky, the shallow blue seawater along the coast turned into an abyssal black as it entered the deep sea, evoking a tremendous sense of fear.

If the monsters were just land-bound Zombies, hiding on an aircraft carrier would be a safe haven. But beneath the deep waters, unknown marine creatures might be lurking. The thought of only the boundless deep sea surrounding her at night made Sha Sha feel breathless. Compared to this, she preferred being on a train, lulled to sleep by the clattering of train tracks.

After flying for dozens of minutes, Lin Xian and his group following Vanessa finally approached their destination.

Under clear skies, a huge post-apocalyptic aircraft carrier lay silently in the middle of a tranquil sea region.

"The former Neptune nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, retired for 15 years, has now been converted into our sea fortress and home, with 736 survivors," Vanessa’s voice carried pride as they approached.

Lin Xian glanced around and discovered this was a Dragon Mountain Class nuclear-powered carrier belonging to the Federation, with a massive flight deck. Once a naval giant, it was gradually phased out after the advancement of space engine technology, and now in the post-apocalyptic era, it has been thoroughly converted into a sea survival fortress.
