Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 219 After I die
"This wedding dress looks beautiful, doesn’t it? " Emily lifted the wedding dress up, those broken diamonds embedded on the wedding dress sparkled dazzlingly under the light.
"Emily, you——" Dolly wanted to say something.
"Dolly, this will only end if I marry him. " A quick flash of sadness passed through Emily’s eyes, "I can’t let more people die because of me."
Emily finished and opened the door. She said to the guard outside the door, " I need to change my wedding dress, help me get out of my chains."
The guards did not refuse her this time, and it was evident that Elijah had given them special instructions before her departure. " When you have changed your wedding dress, we will put the chains back on you." The guards emphasized.
She closed the door of the room after the guards had released Emily. Dolly rose from the sofa; she said nothing, but silently took up the gorgeous wedding-dress. Emily saw this. She calmly undressed, then changed into a white wedding dress. Dolly was in the middle of the night; she was in the middle of the night; she was in the middle of the night; she was in the middle of the night; she was in the middle of the night.
Little by little the hours went by, and it was nearly dawn.
Out of the window there came a sudden rush of noise, a sound that came like a rushing tide into the silent room. There were shouts, and chiding voices, and the clash of weapons, and all sorts of sounds mingled together to make one’s mind restless. So Dolly immediately went to the window to check, her eyes just cast out the window, her face instantly became pale, her body slightly trembling, "They have Adam."
At this time, the guard pushed open the door, " The king wants you to go downstairs. " The guard said with an expressionless face, "Now."
Emily drew a long breath as she slowly rose to her feet. Dolly called out to her sharply, "Emily-"
"Dolly, it’s time. " Emily interrupted Dolly," Let’s go."
" Hurry." The guards urged.
Dolly followed Emily in silence, holding up her skirt for her. The sound of their footsteps echoed through the passage, where the air seemed to freeze, and only the monotonous tread told of the tension and sadness of the moment.
Emily stepped out of the front door, and the early morning sunlight fell upon her, but it could not dispel the chill in her heart. She saw Elijah standing outside the door, in all his finery, with a smug smile on his face, a smile that was too much for Emily.
Emily’s face was impassive as she took a step toward Elijah. The wind lifted her hair and the skirts of her wedding dress. She looked like a queen walking toward her execution, regal and poignant.
" You are so beautiful." Elijah complimented me.
" You have Adam, don’t you? Where is he?" Emily questioned. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Elijah gestured to the guards behind him. Presently two of the guards approached Adam, who was on his feet, struggling with every step, his head bowed, his handsome face pained, and his body covered with bloody wounds. Some of those wounds were still oozing blood, and it trickled down his body to the ground, where it mingled in a little shocking pool, and reddened the ground beneath his feet.
"Adam." Emily tried desperately to draw nearer to Adam, but she had scarcely taken a step when she was stopped by Elijah’s hand, which lay like an iron grip upon Emily’s wrist.
" Don’t worry, your brother is still alive." Elijah’s tone held a playful malice, as though Adam’s life or death were but a plaything in his hands, to be manipulated at will.
"What have you done to him? " Emily scolds Elijah.
"I made sure he lived, not that he wouldn’t get hurt." Elijah whispered a warning in Emily’s ear, "If you don’t marry me, I can make him die right now."
At that moment Adam slowly raised his head, his lips bloodless, not the slightest suggestion of blood seeping through the dry cracks. "Emily..." He spat out the words with difficulty, and his voice was weak as a candle in the wind.
" Prince Adam, I am going to marry your sister." Elijah said condescendingly to Adam, " Now, I want you to witness our wedding."
" Emily. Don’t..." Adam’s body trembled violently as he tried to rise to stop the absurdity, but the pain in his body made it impossible for him to do so, and the despair in his eyes increased.
Emily looked at Adam with an intolerable pain in her heart. But she didn’t say anything on the surface, instead she used her psychic link to tell Adam, "I’m sorry, Adam. I had to do it. When I die, I hope you take good care of your father."
Adam’s face changed as he realized in an instant the meaning of Emily’s words. At that moment, Elijah impatiently urged, " Emily, it’s time for the ceremony."
" Have you ever seen a bride chained for a ceremony? " Emily asked.
" I don’t care."
" But I care. " Emily’s voice was filled with anger," I won’t perform the ceremony with you like a slave.
" Fine." Elijah relented, and, waving his hand impatiently at the guards, ordered them to release Emily from her bonds.
The cold chains that bound Emily were removed, and fell with a dull thud to the ground, but Emily did not feel the slightest relief. Instead, her heart felt as if a heavier boulder were weighing her down.
" Are you satisfied now?" Elijah asked.
Emily did not speak; her lips were compressed, her eyes hollow and determined. She let Elijah take her by the wrist and walk toward the center of the square.
The people around her watched in silence, fear and pity in their eyes, but none dared to make a sound. The guards stood about, weapons in hand, watching intently the surrounding area, maintaining an order that was oppressive in the extreme.
The center of the square had long been set up as a temporary wedding venue, a brightly colored but incredibly ironic red carpet was spread on the ground, at the end of which was a simple but luxurious platform, on which tokens were placed symbolizing the union, but all of this seemed to be more like the road to hell and decorations at this time.
