Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 218 Let Your Brother Witness Our Wedding
South, Red Moon Pack
The door of the room was pushed open from without. Emily twisted her head to look at it, instantly, she showed a shocked look, "Dolly."
Emily saw Dolly walk into the room, pushing a black suitcase. Dolly’s face was pale, beads of perspiration covered her forehead, and her hair was a little disordered against her cheeks. She appeared to have injured her foot and was walking with a limp.
" What happened to your foot?" Emily rose at once from the floor, and as she moved the chains clanked metal against metal. Her heart was in her mouth as she tried to walk quickly to check on Dolly’s injuries, but the shackles on her feet limited her speed, and every step was hard and urgent.
" Dolly, what happened to you?" Emily came to see Dolly. She saw the red blood staining Dolly’s pants, " Is your leg hurt?"
" It was Elijah who had the guards shoot me in the leg." Dolly strained to push her suitcase aside, " He also ordered me to help you change your wedding dress."
" Oh Dolly," Emily said as she helped Dolly sit down on the couch, her insides filled with guilt, " Elijah did that to warn me. He just wanted me to watch you get hurt."
Emily knew that if she dared to run away, Elijah would do something even more cruel to Dolly. Emily was miserable, but there was nothing she could do about it.
" Emily, I’m fine. " Dolly said, holding back the pain.
"You must let the doctor take the bullet out of your body or you will get infected. I will now go and get you a doctor. " Emily said as she stood up and walked to the door where two guards immediately stopped her.
"I need to get a doctor, let me out. " Emily screamed at the guards.
"The king will not allow you to leave here. " One of the guards said coldly, "Go back."
"Where is Elijah? Tell him I want to see him."
"Go back. " The guards pushed Emily roughly back into the room and slammed the door hard.
"Emily, don’t beg them. " Dolly said, "They won’t listen to you."
"I’m sorry Dolly." Emily replied, "You’re hurt because of me."
" Don’t blame yourself." Dolly soothed, "I know you didn’t want this either."
" Didn’t you evacuate with the others? Why were you caught by Elijah?" Emily asked sharply.
" We were on our way to evacuate when we ran into the Occidental Army, which was coming over the right flank of the border." A worried look appeared on Dolly’s face, " I guess it was because the Western Army defeated the support army on the border, that’s why they were able to enter our territory."
" It was Elijah’s undead man army that defeated the support army." Emily’s heart thrilled at the thought of the man who could not kill the undead.
" Mark and I mentioned the Undead Legion." Dolly said, " He said it was black magic."
" It must be a wizard." Emily frowned, " He’s the one who’s manipulating the undead with black magic."
" The wizard isn’t dead?" " asked Dolly, startled. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
" No." Emily shook her head, " I just saw the wizard standing right in front of me, and he’s still alive."
" Fuck the wizard." Dolly clenched her fists in anger.
After a short silence, Emily walked slowly to the window, dragging her heavy chain with her. She looked out of the window and saw the group standing in the open like lambs to the slaughter. Bodies lay on the ground, the blood gurgling from their wounds, pooling together and coloring the ground a piercing red, as if the land were crying in silence. The poor wretches were watched intently by the guards; their heads hung low, their bodies trembled uncontrollably, they dared not make the least movement, and a look of fear came into every eye, the fear of an unknown fate, the fear of death.
Emily gave a long sigh as she silently made up her mind. Then she opened her mouth and said to Dolly, "Elijah asked you to change my wedding dress, didn’t he?"
Dolly froze, then nodded, her face filled with worry, " That bastard said he had to make you wear a wedding dress for that ridiculous wedding. Emily, don’t do anything stupid, let’s think of something else, we’ll be able to get out of here."
" Where’s the wedding dress?"
Dolly glanced at the black suitcase, " The wedding dress is in that suitcase."
" Then you can help me change my wedding dress."
" Emily, are you really going to marry Elijah?" Dolly asked suspiciously, "Now that you’re the princess of the South, he’ll be able to rule the South in name only if he marries you, so don’t tell me, Emily, that you don’t know what Elijah’s thinking."
" Of course, I know what he’s thinking." Emily’s tone was bitter, and her voice was like a leaf that has been struck by frost, a kind of powerless vicissitude. " Elijah wants to marry me and then kill Adam so he can be the rightful king when he takes over the South. But if I do not marry him, he will kill the pack. I can’t stand by and watch those people die because of me."
Dolly bit her lower lip, and her eyes were troubled. She seemed to be trying to persuade something, but could not find the right words.
"Dolly, help me change into my wedding dress. " Emily’s tone was surprisingly calm, "If Elijah comes back and sees that I’m not wearing my wedding dress, he’ll be mad."
"Emily, are you okay? " Dolly looked at Emily uneasily, "You look weird right now."
Emily made no reply to Dolly’s words, but straightway opened the black valise, and then took out the wedding-dress which had been placed in it.
The wedding-dress was like the moonlight swallowed up in darkness, white with endless sorrow. The diamonds of the wedding-dress no longer glistened, but hung heavy upon it like condensed drops of tears. The neckline was designed to resemble a cold yoke, symbolizing Emily’s inescapable fate.
"I’m going to marry Elijah in the end." murmured Emily, as she carried her wedding-dress
