Chapter 142: Chapter 142 She is Not Qualified to Be Luna

Dyson turned to Gina in the car and said, "Let that girl out." Emily then saw Gina step out of the car, followed closely by a girl. "Susan?" Emily exclaimed, surprised. ๐™›๐“ป๐’†๐“ฎ๐’˜๐™š๐™—๐’๐™ค๐™ซ๐“ฎ๐’.๐“ฌ๐’๐™ข

How did Susan end up with Dyson?

"Susan," Carl hurried over, his face etched with anxiety and concern. "Where have you been these days? Luna has been sending people to search for you."

"Itโ€™s none of your business," Susan replied, her brow furrowing slightly. An impatient look flashed across her face as she vigorously shook Carlโ€™s hand, her eyes filled with stubborn defiance.

"Susan, I promised your father I would take care of you," Carl said, his worried expression deepening. His brows furrowed, and his tone was laced with helplessness and self-reproach. "If something happens to you, how will I face your father in heaven?"

"Iโ€™m fine, Carl," Susanโ€™s tone softened a bit. She turned to look at Dyson, a hint of gratitude shining in her eyes. "I met Alpha Dyson halfway, and he brought me back."

"This girl was attacked by a dog slave on the road, and I happened to be passing by, so I saved her," Dyson said calmly, his tone understated, as if he were recounting a mundane event.

"Thank you very much, Alpha Dyson," Carl bowed slightly, his voice respectful. "I am Miss Susanโ€™s guardian, and now, please allow me to take her with me."

"Of course you can take her, if she wants," Dyson replied, the corners of his mouth lifting in a significant smile. He glanced at Susan, a hint of teasing in his tone. "So, what is your decision?"

Susan hesitated for a few seconds, her eyes reflecting confusion and contradiction. She lowered her gaze slightly, bit her lip, and said to Carl, "Iโ€™m sorry, Carl, but I donโ€™t want to go back to that house."

"You can stay at my place," Carl tried to persuade Susan, his eyes brimming with hope.

Susan shook her head firmly and said, "Carl, I want to be with Alpha Dyson." There was a spark of determination in her eyes, as if she had made an irrevocable decision.

"What?" Carl looked puzzled and soon began to patiently persuade Susan. "Alpha Dyson is a royal representative; you canโ€™t pester him. Besides, he leaves the pack once his work is done."

"Iโ€™m not in any rush to leave," Dyson clasped his hands to his chest, his tone calm and collected, as if everything was under his control. "Just let this girl follow me; Gina will take care of her."

He wants Susan, Emily thought to herself. She was staring intently at Dyson, her eyes filled with caution. She knew that Dyson was not a kind-hearted individual; he was unpredictable, and every move he made might have a hidden agenda.

"Susan, as Luna, I order you to go home with Carl immediately," Emily said to Susan, her expression serious. "Do not disobey my orders."

There was a majesty in her tone that could not be questioned. She knew that Susanโ€™s petulance could have unforeseen consequences, and she must stop Susan from making the wrong choices.

"I didnโ€™t think you would threaten an underage girl." Gina quipped, "It seems that all the rumors we heard on the road are true."

"I donโ€™t care what rumors youโ€™ve heard," Emily said in a cold tone. "Now, please leave my pack."

"Iโ€™m afraid you donโ€™t count," Dyson said with a slight hint of defiance. He raised his chin slightly, "Iโ€™m not just here to deliver supplies; Iโ€™m also here to oversee your work on behalf of the royal family."

"I didnโ€™t receive any notification about it," Emily said, her eyes cold. "Besides, I havenโ€™t had any problems with my pack."

"Really?" Dyson sneered. "Iโ€™ve heard a lot of rumors about you. Some people even wrote to the royal office to complain that you abused your power to kick the daughter of your predecessor Alpha out of the pack, and others..."

"Shut up, Dyson," Emily interrupted. "If you want to stay here, stay, but now that there are no more rooms left in the Packโ€™s hotel, you and your mistress will probably have to live in the barn."

Emily deliberately emphasized the word "mistress" and glanced at Gina disdainfully. She knew that Gina could not be Dysonโ€™s Luna, and as to how they had met, she didnโ€™t care. Gina stayed with Dyson, who was either her mistress or a sexual partner.

"How dare you speak to Dyson in such a tone," Gina gritted her teeth angrily.

"Carl, take Susan home," Emily ordered. "Mark, youโ€™re in charge of getting the supplies to the warehouse."

Emily walked away without looking back.

..........

At night, night covered the earth like a great black curtain. In the study, Emily sat at her desk in the soft light, looking grave. Carl and Mark sat on either side of her, and the three of them held a conference that revolved around a great deal of packing. The meeting lasted about two hours.

Carl didnโ€™t leave immediately at the end of the meeting but remained alone. He sat still in his chair and looked thoughtfully at Emily. The light fell on his face and outlined his resolute silhouette. There seemed to be something in his eyes that he wanted to say but hesitated.

The atmosphere in the study had grown a little subtle, so quiet that you could hear each otherโ€™s breathing.

"Is there anything else you want to say, Carl?" Emily asked.

Carl hesitated, and after a moment, he said, "Luna, I heard something."

"What did you hear?" Emily got up and poured a cup of coffee. She had a lot of papers to work on tonight. She needed a coffee pick-me-up.

"Itโ€™s about Susan," Carl looked worried.

"Iโ€™ve tried to communicate with her, but she hasnโ€™t given me the opportunity," Emily said, taking a sip of her coffee. "Has her character always been so stubborn?"

"Susan is Alpha Andrewโ€™s only child, and her father dotes on her, so she has a somewhat stubborn personality, but sheโ€™s not a bad kid," Carl said. "After Alpha Andrewโ€™s death, she offered to inherit the pack, but that application wasnโ€™t approved by the royal family."

"She wants to be an Alpha?" Emily hadnโ€™t heard Klaus mention it, but women usually didnโ€™t have inheritance rights to packs. Susanโ€™s application fell short of expectations.

"Susan has been born in this land since she was a child, and she has a lot of affection for it," Carl said. "She just didnโ€™t want her life to change."

"She wants to keep all the memories of her father, right?" Emily said, snapping into the conversation. "So she resisted the pack merger."

"Yes."

"But pack merging is a fact that canโ€™t be changed. I can understand her feelings, but we canโ€™t go against the kingโ€™s decision."

Klaus wouldnโ€™t have lost his pack if the king hadnโ€™t given it to Dyson to carry out. If Klaus were to place the members of his original pack, he would have to take over the Green Forest pack. Everything was in the kingโ€™s plan, and she and Klaus were the only ones carrying it out.

Emily frowned, and at times she really hated the old king, even though he was Klausโ€™s father.

"I know," Carl bowed his head a little, as if he were thinking of something.

"What did you just say you heard?" Emily returned to the subject.

Carl looked up slowly, "Luna, if Susan does something that makes you angry, I hope you can forgive her."

Emily put down her coffee cup and looked at Carl. "Tell me, what the hell did she do behind my back? Did she make a bomb or try to assassinate me?"

"She..." Carl grimaced. "Iโ€™ve heard that sheโ€™s rallying a lot of the pack, and theyโ€™re planning to protest against your management."

"And?"

Carl shook his head slightly. "They wonโ€™t reveal much to me because they think Iโ€™m on your side."

"Itโ€™s funny," Emily said. "Just let them come."

Carl thought for a moment. "Do you think this has something to do with that Alpha Dyson? Susan seemed to be very close to him."

Perhaps she had returned this time to carry out the plan. Emily furrowed her brow, knowing that Dysonโ€™s presence was certainly not a good thing.

It must have been Dyson who, behind her back, gave Susan the idea to rebel against her. Oh, and Ginaโ€”she and Dyson make a wicked duo.

"You know thatโ€™s all there is to it?" Emily asked.

"Yes. If I get any news, Iโ€™ll tell you right away."

Emily sighed softly. "You can go."

"Good night, Luna," Carl said.

After Carl left, Emily went to Dolly, who told her about Susan and advised her not to take the two princesses around in the pack anymore in case of a confrontation with the locals.

These days, thanks to Dollyโ€™s care of the two princesses, Emily simply couldnโ€™t work if they pestered her.

The next day, while still asleep, Emily heard a commotion outside her window. She pushed open the window and looked out, only to see a large crowd of pack members gathered outside the houseโ€™s door, wearing uniform white T-shirts and carrying high protest flags.

Susan stood at a table and led the others with a megaphone, shouting, "Abolish Luna Emily! Abolish Luna Emily!"

Are they going to abolish me? Emily laughed at their actions.

"Luna Emily simply canโ€™t rule a pack of wolves because she doesnโ€™t have wolves," Susan shouted. "The Green Forest pack will never accept a Luna without wolves!"

"We donโ€™t accept a Luna without wolves!" the others shouted after Susan.

The cries of protest came to Emilyโ€™s ears like waves. Her brow furrowed as she looked down at the crowd.

How did they know that she had no wolves?
