Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 141 The New Luna Is a Wicked Woman
"Where will Susan go?" Emily asked Carl. "Could she be hiding at her friend’s house?"
By this time, the light of day was visible in the sky, and after a night of searching, they still found no sign of Susan. They had even mobilized guards to help them, but Susan seemed to be nowhere to be found.
"Susan doesn’t have any friends," Carl said worriedly. "I looked at the surveillance footage at the various exits of the pack and found no trace of her. Perhaps she left on the mountain road. I guess she probably went to her uncle’s."
"Call her uncle and tell him to get in touch with me as soon as he sees Susan," Emily said.
"Luna, Susan’s uncle’s pack is far from here. And if she did take the mountain road to find her uncle, I’m afraid she might be in danger. You know there are other shape-shifting creatures lurking around the border. Susan isn’t of age yet, and she couldn’t even defeat Dog Slaves."
"Then send a team to find her," Emily ordered decisively. "I’ll leave this matter to you. Be sure to find her."
"Yes, Luna."
..........
Three days later, eighty members of Klaus’s original pack arrived at the Green Forest Pack. The men were temporarily housed in a hotel, and Emily immediately set about renovating the building, diverting money from the sale of her jewelry into the pack’s public account to cover expenses.
And her biggest headache was that Susan still hadn’t been found. There had been private discussions within the pack about this, and some had even spread rumors that she had killed her ex-packer’s daughter. At first, Emily paid little attention to the rumors, but then things got worse.
Someone spray-painted graffiti on the wall and wrote "murderer" on it. To add insult to injury, explosives were thrown at her house in the middle of the night, at one point nearly blowing the door off its hinges.
Carl caught the perpetrators, but since they were minors, Emily didn’t punish them severely, only verbally warning them that they would be jailed if they reoffended. But Marx didn’t agree with Emily’s approach.
"You should put those two boys in jail and let the guards teach them a good lesson. If it had been Klaus, he would have done it," Marx said.
Emily bowed her head as she signed the document and replied to Marx, "They’re still children, and I’m sure their actions were just impulsive. After all, they can’t tell the difference between right and wrong at their age."
"The aborigines of this pack are very hostile to us," Marx frowned slightly. "I’ve dealt with quite a few conflicts in the past few days, and our people don’t get along well with the locals."
"There’s no distinction between the locals and our people. They all belong to the Green Forest Pack," Emily said patiently to Marx. "If there’s another conflict, you’d better let Carl help you."
In previous conflicts, Marx had been biased in favor of his own people, which had led to resentment among the locals. Several even openly provoked Marx, which would have only worsened had Carr not intervened in time to stop it.
It seemed that the task of merging the packs was even more difficult than she had imagined.
"Renovation work on the building is due to begin within a week." Emily asked Marx, "Have you found the person in charge of the construction?"
Marx nodded, "Carl has already found the original Green Forest pack’s construction team to take care of this."
"Let Carl oversee the work," Emily thought. The locals would be more willing to follow Carl’s orders, and it would be better for him to take charge of the renovation of the building.
"We need an advance to buy building materials." Marx looked at Emily with uncertain eyes, "Does the pack’s account still have enough money to cover this cost?"
Emily put down her pen and sighed softly, "Yes."
When Carl showed her the budget for the renovation of the building, it was more than she had imagined. Almost all of the money she had earned from selling her jewelry had been used to renovate the building, and she had thought there would be some left over for other pack expenses, but now it seemed that hope had been dashed.
"Don’t tell me you used your own money to renovate the building," Marx seemed to realize something.
"That’s right," Emily said honestly. "But I want you to stop telling Klaus about this for now, okay?"
"Why didn’t you tell him?"
"He has his own work to do, and I don’t want him to be distracted," Emily said.
"Okay, I promise you."
"Also, have the living supplies allocated to us by the royal family arrived?" Emily remembered that the supplies were supposed to arrive in the pack within a few days, and she planned to store them for winter use.
"Mays said the supplies should arrive in the mail today, maybe in the afternoon," Marx replied.
At that moment, Emily’s phone rang. It was Carl. He informed Emily that the supplies allocated by the royal family had arrived in the pack, and that the royal representative in charge of the delivery had requested her to receive them in person.
Royal representatives? Emily hung up the phone and thought for a moment. Could it be that Meiss himself had come this time?
"Marx, follow me to the entrance of the pack to receive the supplies," said Emily, rising and putting on her coat.
When Marx and Emily reached the pack entrance, she saw a black commercial vehicle parked in front, followed by several trucks carrying supplies.
"Where are the royal representatives?" Emily asked Carl.
Carl glanced at the black car, "They’re in that car, and the person in charge said they must see you."
Emily walked hesitantly to the black car, and as she reached it, the door slowly opened.
"Hey, long time no see, beauty," Dyson sat in the car and smiled wickedly at Emily. "Say hello to someone you know."
Dyson leaned sideways deliberately, and Emily saw who the woman sitting next to him was.
"Gina?" Emily wondered. How could Gina be with Dyson?
"Hey, sister," Gina wore heavy makeup, her red hair styled high, and she looked at Emily with a smirk. "You didn’t expect to meet me here."
"What do you want, Dyson?" Emily asked indifferently.
"I’m here to bring you supplies," Dyson got out of the car and approached Emily. "And I brought you someone else. Do you want to know who it is?"
"As far as I know, your presence is always going to cause me trouble," Emily stepped back and distanced herself from Dyson. "Thank you for bringing the supplies. Now you can go."
Dyson sneered, "Emily, you’re going to regret what you just said."
