KALIA

"If it isn’t my cursed brother. Just the person that I wanted to see." He said in a condescending tone. He dragged his hands away from Callum’s grip forcefully.

"This issue is between me and Kalia so back off because I have no desire to speak with you today."

"And yet you’re in my house." Darren answered rudely. "You can’t request for things like that when you barged into my house unannounced."

"You have no right to request an audience with my fiance and force her to do what she doesn’t want to. It doesn’t work that way Callum. This is my house and not yours."

"You’re not serious about getting married to her right?" He spat at Darren.

"Why are you always picking up after me? I mean, you could’ve done better and married someone else but no, you’ve always been obsessed with my leftovers and that’s why you went after her right? What exactly are you trying to prove?"

"That not all men can be shameless just like you." He answered causing Callum contenance to drop.

"And If what you said is true then why are you still here fighting over the supposed woman whom you consider to be a leftover?" Darren said in my defense.

"She never asked to see you but you followed her all the way here just so you can see her? Isn’t that stalking?"

"You’ve always had all the trashy character among us siblings and that’s why father never took you seriously. It’s such a shame." Darren clicked his tongue and turned to face me. His eyes staring at me with intent.

"Did he hurt you? Did you touch you anywhere?" He asked and I shook my head no after giving Callum a brief glance.

He stroked my hair affectionately. I didn’t want to say anything about it because I figured that he was doing that to piss Callum off so I just went with the flow.

"I’m fine baby. I truly am." I whispered and with shaky hands, I reached out to hold his face with both hands too as I forced a smile. "I’m glad that you came out sooner."

I was scared that I was going to mess things up but the shocked look on Callum’s face told me that whatever we were playing at was working.

"Moira, please take Kalia inside and tend to her." He ordered and brought his face to meet mine. "I’ll join you inside once I’m done handling this, okay?"

"Okay but be careful. The man I was once engaged wouldn’t mind going to any length to prove his stupidity." I indirectly said that to insult Callum.

Darren chuckled. "Of course." He lets go of me and Moira took my hands as she led me inside the mansion.

In as much as I was glad that our plan to fool Callum was working, I couldn’t help but wonder what he meant when he addressed Darren as cursed. Was it just a mere insult? Did he really mean it or was I just overthinking it as usual?

"ARRGHH!!!" I yelled at the top of my voice, pushing and breaking down everything my hands came in contact with.

My mother made an attempt to hold me but she couldn’t because I wouldn’t let her. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed everyone watching me, staring at me as if I’ve gone mad.

I wouldn’t blame them though. I have gone mad and I’m mad because of that wench Kalia.

"Celyn, please calm down." She pleaded as she tried her very best to pacify me and stop me from lashing out at everyone but I wouldn’t stop.

I was angry at her, angry at myself and angry at everyone that was involved in ruining my life and my plans.

First, Kalia has managed to charm her way into Darren’s life when she knew quite well that I wanted him for myself.

And as if it wasn’t enough, she had also moved in with him and all attempts to separate them had been futile.

That was supposed to be my place, my spot but she had taken it for herself. She stole it from me from under my nose.

I was upset because I didn’t know how best to handle the situation and it scares me. What if Kalia takes my place?

What if she wasn’t joking and was actually serious about getting married to Callum’s brother? What would I do then?

What would become of me? How would I face the world and how would I achieve my plans of being the true Luna of the Crescent Pack?

Everything was falling apart piece by piece and it’s worse because I haven’t even gotten married yet until now.

I’m facing so many problems and I’m not yet even married so what happens if I indeed end up getting married?

I’m so tired and confused at everything. Why Kalia out of everyone? Why pick her and not someone else?

"I hate you Kalia. I hate everyone!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, exerting my anger on everything that came in contact with me.

If Kalia manages to confuse the Alpha King and change his mind to let them get married then everything that I have done up until this point will be useless.

"Listen..." My Mother trailed off, gesturing at the other guards to hold me but I shot them a deadly glare and they stepped back.

"Please, listen to me and calm down my dear. Kalia hasn’t won. You are still in charge of everything. Your father’s property and soon, the Alpha King’s approval. She can never win against you my darling and you know that."

"The Alpha King loves Darren mother." I reminded her. My head leveling down a bit.

"He loves him more than anything. Didn’t you see the way he behaved with him last time? How he took his side over Callum’s? Not even Callum’s mother could stop him."

"I am not in charge of anything yet mother because if the Alpha King loves Darren to that extent then it wouldn’t take long for them to convince him into accepting Kalia and when he does, the position that I’ve dreamt of and everything I’ve ever wanted would go to her."

"People will bow down to her and accept her as the Luna queen if that happens, including me. No one would pay any attention to me." I said to her in a pained and hurtful voice.

"We had all thought that she was bluffing when she spoke about her relationship with Darren but now, we can all see that she wasn’t. She was telling the truth."

"She could be trying to fool us—"

"Are you even listening to yourself mother?" I groaned in a frustrated manner.

"How does any of this fool us? Kalia called him and he drove all the way down here to rescue her. The Alpha King’s son. He left all his important work just because she called him."

"Why would he do that if she was fooling us? Why would he do that if he wasn’t interested in her?" I asked but she couldn’t respond which only did nothing but agitate me more.
