When Li Zhi relayed the news to Captain Rong, what he received was a furious reply. It was fortunate that this conversation had only happened through the phone, otherwise Rong Simo’s spit would have definitely flown all over the place. "What?! What the hell do you mean by that?! How could I be wrong about something like this? Yesterday, he’s clearly the one driving—" his words were abruptly cut off and what followed was a stretch of terrifying silence.

Li Zhi could tell that an appalling possibility had finally popped up into his enraged comrade’s mind. He, too, had instantly thought of it once he heard Kang Guanyu’s reply.

"It can’t be..." Rong Simo sucked in a deep breath. He sounded as if he was on the verge of heart attack. "Li Zhi, Captain Li, tell me... is it that person?"

"You are still in the hospital, right?" Li Zhi interrupted him. "Copy the surveillance footage and we will look through it together. I will wait for you, let’s verify the truth from the little officer first."

Rong Simo dazedly hummed in approval and hung up on the call.

"Captain?" The other officers had been vibrating in their seats once Li Zhi ordered Kang Guanyu to ask about the little officer’s status, and when Li Zhi asked Rong Simo to get the hospital’s surveillance footage, they had already come up with 1001 scenarios, each was worse than the other. Now that Li Zhi had put down the phone, they instantly scrambled to ask. "What’s wrong? Did something happen? No way... Captain Rong couldn’t have found another corpse, right?!"

"No, it’s not another corpse." Li Zhi pinched his brows, exasperated. "It might be the imposter. They are here again."

There was a split second of hushed silence before the atmosphere descended into uproar. "’Here’? Where is it?! The hospital or..."

However, Li Zhi did not have any intention of explaining any further. He glared at Kang Guanyu who was dumbfounded on the spot with his mouth hanging open. "Why are you in a daze like that? Still not asking for that little officer’s contact information?!"

"Oh..." Kang Guanyu blinked and snapped back to his senses. "Oh, yes! I will be back in a minute!" He turned around and sprinted out of the room again.

This time, because it was a matter pertaining to the imposter who had become a public enemy, everyone – including Tak Jung-Hwa and the members of Narcotics Division – convened in the meeting room. Kang Guanyu already had the little officer’s contact stored in his phone. Right now, they were just waiting for Captain Rong’s return before they started.

Fortunately, they did not have to wait long. Ten minutes later, Rong Simo barged into the meeting room with an awfully dark expression and thick shadows under his eyes.

"How is it?" He asked, his voice hoarse and exhausted.

"We’re just waiting for you." Li Zhi gestured for him to sit, then he told Kang Guanyu, "Call him."

Kang Guanyu nodded. He connected his phone to the projector and the interface for a video call appeared in front of everyone. Earlier, Kang Guanyu already gave the little officer a heads up so he could be prepared, both physically and mentally. Alas, as soon as the call connected, the little officer still swallowed nervously.

Oh God... these were all the bigshots from the Violent Crime and Narcotics Division! And they were all scrutinizing him as if he was some sort of criminal!

The little officer’s face was still pale. Three days ago, he had been diagnosed with mild pneumonia. He had taken a leave of absence and went to the nearest local hospital for IV drips and it was not until today that his dehydration and nausea was abated. The doctor had sent him home on oral antibiotics and right now, he was in isolation in his rented house. "G–Good evening, everyone," he said his greeting nervously.

However, no one was in the mood for pleasantries right now, especially Captain Rong.

"This!" Captain Rong pointed at the screen angrily. "This is his face, I can’t be mistaken about it! But the voice is slightly different!"

Li Zhi asked, "Are you sure?"

Rong Simo rolled his eyes, "Please, I might be so exhausted that I could fall asleep on my feet, but I am not blind, okay?!"

Next, Captain Rong asked the little officer some questions, mainly regarding his whereabouts yesterday and today. However, the little officer’s alibi was solid. Yesterday, he was in the hospital all day. The doctor and nurses could testify it for him, even the surveillance cameras faithfully caught him wandering around the hallway while dragging an IV stand with him. But at that time, he was supposed to drive the police car to Yuyang Hospital Center!

Unless this little officer had a doppelganger, then they could confirm for sure that the one with Rong Simo yesterday was the imposter!

"Fuck!" Rong Simo had only heard about the imposter through Li Zhi because it was only the Violent Crime Team who interrogated ’Qin Zhen’ before, and it was not until now that he could understand why this person could just strut under the police’s nose unnoticed. He rubbed his face roughly and could not help but curse, "Fuck... I really didn’t notice anything at all!"

The Violent Crime Division’s members looked at him with both sympathy and schadenfreude.

Back then, when the news spread that they had been played by an imposter and they could not even unearth anything about this person at all, their team’s reputation had received a great blow. "Next," Li Zhi commanded while pressing against the temple. His head was starting to throb in pain.

The second footage caught the scene when the whole entourage rushed across the lobby. Behind them, the little officer trotted a little to give chase. Then...

"Stop!" Li Zhi and Rong Simo exclaimed at the same time.

On the screen, the little officer abruptly strayed off the path and disappeared from the surveillance’s range!
