The collision of the world might have shaken the other world but on Earth, it caused panic and fear to the populace. After all, it caused severe Earthquakes all over the world. Not only that but the world has collided with another planet that seems to be identical to Earth. The only difference is that this one seems to come from another place as that planet seems to be tearing through space and despite the two planets already colliding, the lands that collided with that world seem to be unaffected nor are they even squished flat.

As a result, this made all of the cultists and doomsayers to be prominent all over the world. They are now scattered all over the world and are now spreading the "word" about the Goddess of Life and how the Goddess of Death caused all of this. And as for the one who spread the news? It’s none other than Nobuhiko as he planted many messages on the internet about this matter with the help of his employees to ensure that the praises that the Goddess of Life will receive will power her up a lot more while all the curses and insults will weaken the Goddess of Death a lot further.

Because of this incident, the world has fallen to a state of anarchy and even though no apocalypse has happened to cause all of this, it seems that they are already spreading their doom. Of course, the government and the military have deployed their forces and reinforced the security for all the civilians. Even the regular players of the Alternate World are having a hard time going back to the game due to how rampant the players have been. Not only that but they also seemed to have realized how the situation is currently mirrored in the game.

Still, the chaos has already erupted in full scale and it seems it will only take a few more times before the full-on chaos erupts.

In the meantime, I am currently being briefed by Almira on this matter and how we will deal with the Goddess of Life who will be coming back to ensure her power goes full force. Even though she is strong, she needs the power of the Tree of Life to complete it which is why we are still going to intercept her. But this time around, it is only her and me. And no one else.

A fight where I can focus without the need to protect anyone. A battle where one will fall and the other will cause the demise of the society. It is a battle where one will be considered as the great enemy and one that will be heralded as the savior. Of course, the latter isn’t me. But that doesn’t matter. As long as she is no longer coming for the power of the Tree then this matter shall be resolved. But for that to be done, erasing her from existence is the only way for this to happen.

The two of us are standing at the very edge of the walking mansion where we can see the Altar. The battle I did with the Goddess of Life was still pretty fresh and how pathetic I was during the fight since I couldn’t even try too much. I heard from Queen Tanya that the main reason why Almira has changed like this now is because she borrowed her main body’s ability and used it to save me and Queen Tanya from the mess and ensure that the Goddess of Life retreats.

It was only a one-time thing so Almira will not be able to do it again unless she wants to die so early in the process. It took a big toll on Almira’s body to borrow the power of her original body so even fighting a normal monster is now a big challenge for Almira.

"I only needed to wait for her to return?"

"Yes. She will come and she will not fail this. She will not miss this process. Therefore, you will also be there to stop this process from happening. And as for us, we will be defending this mansion until the very end. It will be a tough battle but I know that you can do it."

Despite Almira’s encouragement, I don’t feel any sort of encouragement feeling there. I feel the heaviness of this task and how one wrong move and the world is doomed.

I nodded. Knowing everything I needed to know. I jumped down to the ground and headed straight to the Altar that was now getting ready to finish forming any moment. Almira made a bitter smile when I looked back at her before she retreated inside. As for me, I headed to the final battle. I know I keep repeating this but this is it. This is not a game, this is something that will decide the fate of the world. And the savior was supposed to be heroic, but I was never born as one.

I am an ordinary human. An ordinary human who wanted this all to just end. Someone who returned to the past just to correct most of the mistakes I made. I never signed up for it. But I guess things are going to be different now. Do I mind what happens next? I don’t know. But I guess this is how most stories end. But if it needed to end, then I will have to make sure the conclusion can be reached very soon.

Sitting at the bottom of the Altar, I pull out the Devourer in my left hand and the two pistols of the Pride sin on the other.

"I think it is time for you to complete your final transformation."

"Ha, I am ready. Though I am not sure if I would like myself to be complete rather than the feeling of being fragmented is much better," the shadow dragon appeared from the blade.

"It doesn’t matter. You should treat it more as food rather than anything else," I said, giving my reasoning.

"Fair enough. Now, let’s go, partner. Issue the command."

I nodded with a smile. "[Devour]!"

The Goddess of Life woke up from a short nap. She can feel the power of the Tree of Life surging once again. Knowing the feeling, she smiled, as her final effort to own what she wanted would soon be hers. Snapping her fingers, her outfit disappears which then promptly gets replaced in a blink of an eye with an elegant white dress, fitting for a royalty, coming to greet and retrieve the power that should belong to her.

"Are you going back now, Your Excellency?" Nobuhiko asked, with a severe admiration in tone.

"Indeed. Wait for the wonderful news for soon, this world will bow down to our feet and we will rule supreme."

Nobuhiko looked like he was being praised so much that he felt like he needed to giggle like a girl making him look creepy enough.

The Goddess of Life snaps her fingers as she disappears from the vision of the man who adores her.

"Finally, everything will soon reach a new age. The time where I will-"

Before the old man can continue what he says, a long spear pierces through his chest. Quite deeply than ever causing him to choke on his blood. The old man looked in the direction of the spear but before he could do that, the spear was pulled straight from his chest.

"What...the..."

Falling over to the floor with blood flowing all over his white lab coat, his eyes slowly glance at the one who stabbed him.

"Y-YOU..."

"Sorry boss, I have a better offer than what you do," Janus said as the spear he uses disappeared from his hands after it got inserted into his inventory.

Behind him is a young man, smiling at the dying old man.

"Never thought I would see the day where the useless old man of mine would soon be struggling to even properly speak. Perhaps you have gotten too old for this, and I guess you thought you would achieve your salvation in the end. But there is nothing for you in the very end. Remember this old man, if not for you and this damnable goddess that you serve, then our family would never have been destroyed in the first place and my sister would not be like what she was in the first place."

"Wh-why?" even though he is struggling, Nobuhiko tries his best to ask his question. His consciousness is fading and his body is getting colder as he lies in his warm blood.

"I don’t need to answer that, old man. You already know the answer to that question. Now, rest in peace. You will soon be forgotten."

The young man leaves the office without looking back, which is followed by the other young man who doesn’t feel any guilt after he does the deed. He looked at the dying old man trying to reach for them. Only for them to turn back and leave him for dead. The old man gasps for air only to prove it fatal. A matter of seconds later, the old man has departed from this world.
