Chapter 1021: "This is just a Trivial Thing"

Cath Palug who was just on the Lady of the Lake’s side watching me pull the Rhongomyniad appeared in front of me and grinned like crazy before taking all of the brunt of the power backlash meant for me.

"Oy, Cath Palug! What the f*ck are you doing?!" Merlin who was watching on the sidelines rushed towards the location but Cath Palug angrily snarked.

"Don’t you dare interrupt me, Incubus! Interrupting this process then I will make your life worse than you could have imagined!" Cath Palug then continued taking in the damage meant for me.

As for me, I slowly managed to get a bit of energy back after Cath Palug took the damage coming from the Rhongomyniad.

"What...are you doing?"

"Heh, you should be grateful, little sh*t, you earned my respect even if it is just a little. Taking in this is just a trivial thing for me."

Although Cath Palug said that with confidence, I can see that his paws are already in the burnt phase. Even if he is one of the strongest monsters available in this world, doesn’t mean he is invincible.

The energy that the Rhongomyniad releases continues to intensify as I continue to pull it off the ground. Even when Cath Palug is taking the brunt of the power, I can feel a bit of its power leaking as well, which is going to cause more damage to my body if I have taken the weapon without Cath Palug.

"I must admit...this is getting fun!" Cath Palug grinned as he slowly became bigger.

"He broke through the seal?!" Merlin frowned as Cath Palug is slowly transforming back to his former form.

I am aware of what is happening but I couldn’t believe that I am seeing his true form once again after returning to the past. I don’t know if I have to continue doing this or face Cath Palug.

"Hahaha! I have returned to my real form!" Cath Palug laughed as he became a giant monster once again.

"This is not a good idea after all," Merlin is ready to do another round for sealing Cath Palug but then the Lady of the Lake intervenes, stopping him from doing the act.

"No, we needed to just observe this. If Cath Palug becomes dangerous once again, then we will seal him once more."

The energy continues to surge even when I know Cath Palug is already back to his former form. I know it isn’t time to feel fear and just continue my action of pulling it out. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Soon, I can feel it slowly being lifted out of where it was currently, and as the energy continues to burst out, Cath Palug continues to take the brunt of the weapon’s power. I can even see that his paws have already disintegrated and are ready to become charred flesh and yet, he didn’t pull it out and just continued to take out all of the energy that was meant for me as I continue to pull the Rhongomyniad.

But I don’t have time to worry about it, as much as Cath Palug is taking all the damage, doesn’t mean I have to dawdle and let the weapon remain there. I continue to pull the weapon as hard as I can, focusing all of my strength to pull it out, even if my hands are already wounded and fully painful to even properly grip the handle.

Blood had been trickling my hands already and yet I didn’t release my grip. Tears are already falling in my eyes, snot is already flowing out of my nose, and my saliva is overflowing with my blood as I bite my lips in the process of pulling the weapon out. My sweat is now getting painful and stings my wounds and yet I didn’t stop.

"URRRGGGAAAAAAA!!!"

I pulled with all my strength. I don’t care if I am messy right now, I don’t have time to feel that way. I needed to do this if I wanted the Rhongomyniad to acknowledge me.

"I DON’T CARE IF YOU ARE A HOLY WEAPON OR A F*CKING ANCHOR OF THE WORLD! LEND YOUR POWER TO ME OR I WILL FORCE YOU TO SUBMISSION!"

My aura overflowed and exploded as my anger erupted. Cath Palug was surprised as he took all the damage while I slowly pulled the weapon up. In my fit of rage, I poured all of my power into my arm and focused all the strength I had in my legs as I pulled the Rhongomyniad.

"RAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

The weapon is slowly being removed and after a grueling time of my life, the Rhongomyniad was pulled out, revealing its radiance to the surroundings. The power was so overwhelming that Merlin and the Lady of the Lake were forced to kneel.

Grabbing my Devourer, I aim the blade at the spear, and without thinking twice, I activate the trigger.

"[DEVOUR]!"

As if the Shadow Dragon felt my pain, it didn’t do its usual licking style and just emerged without a hitch, and in a single devour, the spear that is called the "Anchor of the World" is now on the Shadow Dragon’s stomach.

As I finished the battle, I lay down on the ground and groaned in pain. I have endured all of that power and I managed to remain standing here. Of course, the credit goes to Cath Palug as the guy single-handedly let all of the energy that I was supposed to take all by himself.

Looking at Cath Palug, I can tell he is in pain. He is licking his paws which have almost disintegrated due to the power of the Rhongomyniad.

The lady of the lake saw this and immediately pulled out a blade from wherever she pulled it out and made her way toward the place where the Rhongomyniad was previously placed. As she put the weapon in place, a hammer appeared on her right hand and she started charging it. Merlin who was just on the side cast a spell or something to the hammer and a magic beam flowed through the hammer. As it was about to blow, the Lady of the Lake hammered the weapon she put in its place and at the same time, put all of the gathered energy she did to the weapon.

"This is a temporary anchor that will put this place a bit stable for the time being. Of course, it is not a permanent thing as this is just placed here as a replacement for the Rhongomyniad for the time being. It will not be the same as the real anchor, but it will last for a while. However, it needs to be said that the Rhongomyniad has to be returned in place in the future. So once the battle ends, return the weapon and return alive."

"I see. So I have to deal with the Goddess of Life as soon as possible before things get bad in here. I know this will be a very bad thing but how to know how long the temporary anchor will last before it will break?"

"I designed it to be as similar as the Rhongomyniad but based on the degradation properties of this weapon right now while it was in here, it won’t be long. It would be around a month before it degrades that it needed replacement soon."

Merlin on the other hand remains his vigilance on Cath Palug as he continues to lick his wounds.

"What are you staring on about, Bastard?" Cath Palug frowned after noticing Merlin’s sneer at him.

"Do anything funny and you will die immediately."

"Ha, very funny indeed, Merlin. But f*ck no. I will have my rest for the next day or maybe even next month. I don’t care about your antics Merlin. Take it somewhere, I guess."

After saying those words, Cath Palug returned to his small form with his paws looking reddish compared to his black fur color. He is having a hard time walking but he didn’t do anything risky or anything and opened a summon’s portal."

"Hey...you are wounded..." I uttered at him as he stopped in front of me.

"Don’t be concerned over me, idiot. This is just a trivial thing and nothing serious"

"Don’t ignore those wounds, here is a splash potion, just use it..."

"Ah, just take it yourself. I don’t need human potions to heal me. Just use it on yourself, alright? Later, loser," and before I could even push the potion to him, he enters the portal and disappears in sight.

The lady of the lake smiled and she grabbed the potion in my hands and poured the content into my body, allowing my wounds to slowly heal. However, since it was a wound that was inflicted by the Rhongomyniad, I doubt I will heal fully in this one.

In any case, the Rhongomyniad is now secured. I don’t know what will be the effects of the Devourer now that I control both weapons. Only during the final battle, I will know. But for now, a good rest it is.
