Chapter 1019: Anchor of the Worlds

As we got further and further on the road, the less heaps of junk were scattered across the place. Not only that but I notice a lot more different weapons currently stabbed on the ground like some kind of tombstone to some warrior who died, but what is interesting is that they have been scattered all over the place now.

It was like a graveyard of weapons now. But that is not the only thing that has changed. The air around me has started to grow colder and the surrounding area is getting thick in magical energy. Looking at the gas tank of the trike, I realized that even when I am not fueling it, it is currently being refilled even though I am not actively supplying it at the moment.

"The mana here is very thick. It was like it was a place of pure power. Even when I was still a dragon, I have not felt something like this my whole life," Shadow Dragon said to me as we continued our journey towards the location.

Based on the distance, we are almost there and it might only take a few more days or maybe hours before we reach it and I hope it is the latter option.

And it didn’t take too long before the whole heaps of junk have disappeared. What was left were the weapons and it is now scattered all over the place. Lights that resemble the firefly start to fly all across the field as well, which makes the whole place bright.

I even saw Cath Palug swallow a few of those fireflies.

"You eat insects now?"

"Listen now, you casual pleb f*cker, these flying things are not insects but called Mana Flies. They are an amalgamation of pure mana and a physical body that transports the mana everywhere without spilling and mixing in the air. It is natural for weak humans like you to see this useful stuff as just mere insects. You better learn that these are not insects," Cath Palug angrily answered as he swallows another and his body glows a bit.

"Yes, Master. What this beast said is true. They are indeed mana flies and are a flying container of pure mana. They only appear if the air is full of the pure mana around. Also, according to some, eating some of them can even give you some mana boosts in your body. But be careful though, compared to beasts, humans have a low tolerance for pure mana. If the wielder will try to eat one, just eat only one. Eating more might cause you to have a mana overflow and that is something we shouldn’t have to happen."

Mana overflow is considered a debuff where your mana will continue to leak and your energy will feel like it was draining. It was debilitating if it happened while you were in the middle of a fight but it is usually due to overdrinking mana potions so unless someone decided to just keep on drinking potions, they are usually not going to suffer the debuff at all. Didn’t expect to hear that word again for how many years.

But does eating one of these flying things have a chance to induce the debuff immediately? That is a useful thing to learn. Thankfully, I don’t think I would risk it like that. I would rather not do so.

The sky is also getting darker even though it should be a ceiling but for some reason, it felt like I was looking at a real sky. The stars are twinkling in the skies and the aurora lights are flickering all over the place. It is kind of weird that those lights are present even though we are not in any poles of this world. But I guess because we are almost reaching the very edge of the world, it must be a normal occurrence.

I continue to steer the Trike towards the very end. It was kind of strange as well that all of a sudden, monsters are gone now and have never appeared ever again around. I was expecting more bigger monsters on the way, especially in a place like this but right now? I didn’t think it would be like this as most areas were supposed to be the areas where monsters like to bask themselves in and take the mana all for themselves.

But with a barren wasteland full of weapons only without any monsters, I kind of wonder why it was like this.

I don’t know how many hours has it been but I soon realized that the light was getting closer and closer now. Seeing that I was getting close, I revved up the engine and increased the speed of the trike.

VROOOOM!

As the trike was lifted into the air, I saw Merlin and the Lady of the Lake near the light source. The trike landed nearby and we finally arrived at the place where it was considered as the very edge of the world.

"Huh, you guys have arrived much earlier than what I expected. Seeing that you are still in one piece, I guess you lot have not met any trouble so far?" Merlin smirked.

"Heh, nothing I can’t handle. There are some surprises, but not a big trouble to be honest."

"Seeing that you are new here, you should take a good look at the place where the Rhongomyniad is located."

"Eh? Right away? Alright, let’s get into it," I nodded, and the Lady of the Lake escorted me towards the area. I was expecting only to see the weapon but I wasn’t expecting to see the actual space at the very edge of the world. I can’t even feel the surroundings since it feels like I am being sucked into it.

In the distance is a planet that looks similar to Earth. Although I only have seen it in pictures, this was more vivid compared to the videos that I have seen about Earth before.

Aside from that, nothing else is there aside from it. At the very edge of the land, is a very large spear that shines brightly, much brighter than the normal light I have seen and much brighter than the light emitted from the Tree of Life.

"What you are seeing is the anchor of both worlds you are seeing in front of you. It is a blue planet that we have only seen here but we are assuming it is a new world similar to this world since it is color blue, we assume it is a sea planet and has more water compared to this world, and perhaps the inhabitants there can breathe underwater normally. We called it Bluse for easy identification."

"Uh... it’s not Bluse, but it was called Earth."

"Huh? Earth? You mean the element of the ground?" The Lady of the Lake was a bit surprised at my response.

"Yes. This planet is called Earth. And although you are right that there are lots of bodies of water here, not every part of the planet is purely the sea. There is land too and humans are the primary inhabitants of the planet. Compared to this world where elves, dwarves, demons, and gods coexist, that planet has no other dominating species there aside from humans. Instead of monsters, normal animals prowl the world, and magic and adventure into the unknown is not a thing there."

"Wow, that is a vivid description, Bladeheart, but...how come you seemed to know this place? Have you been there?"

In this case, the one who answered for me is Cath Palug.

"Of course he is. This guy lived there before he got transported here. He is an inhabitant of that place. He explained it properly as that place once was his home until then."

"Yes. What Cath Palug said is true. I lived there. And my name is not Bladeheart but Manato. I came here after realizing that the Goddess of Life infiltrated that world and decided to take advantage of the populace there just so she could find a way to trigger the Tree of Life to appear and for her to use its power and dominate both worlds. After learning the plan, I have to stop it and find a way to halt all of her plans."

The Lady of the Lake was so stunned by the situation she couldn’t speak properly after hearing it.

"It was an evident plan from her since the world was a place that should have no access to mana. However, since the Goddess of Life made a connection to this world and our world, the two worlds soon had a little connection that allowed the dormant mana sleeping on Earth to activate and now, it is ready to be used by people. And since that was now the case, the control of power that the Goddess of Life can have once she recovers after the appearance of the tree will increase a lot, allowing her to soon gain control of the world if she desires."
