THE FORGOTTEN HEIRESS - Chapter 145: Courthouse Romance
All the way to Wyatt Corporations Shawn was buried in the article about him and Kathleen. After admiring the picture again and again, he started reading the comments one after the other.
One particular caption that made him laugh out loud was, "Courthouse Romance: Beautiful victim finds love in court."
They went on to give a detailed description of what transpired.
"After the judgment was passed in favour of our beautiful victim and the villainous Mrs Beazell was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment, out of rage and true to her nature she assaulted the victim again with the intention to tear her to pieces."
"But our Prince Charming, in the person of President Hudson appeared out of nowhere in shining armour to save the enchanting princess, giving birth to a love story that is suspected will be lasting many generations."
"But the question is, was it love at first sight or a consolidation of an ongoing romance, seeing the chemistry between these two?"
Shawn was quite impressed with such a prolific writer.
Under it, netizens started dropping their comments, all referring to the beautiful love affair.
The first comment under it read, "Borrowing from the words of the writer above, I can say that their chemistry is natural and there is nothing awkward between them."
"Look at how good they look together. No matter how you see it, they seem to be made for each other. One was enchantingly beautiful and delicate while the other handsome and domineering, yet full of love." A second commenter wrote.
"I think I have finally gotten my ideal couple," someone else wrote.
"I can’t help but wish they were a couple," Shawn read further.
"Of course we have been a couple for a very long time," Shawn sneered as he read on.
"Didn’t you see the comment President Hudson gave to one of the reporters before the court session?"
"I’m dying to know what it was, hurry up and tell us."
One went to dig out Shawn’s comment when a reporter asked him who he came to support at the court.
"I am here for a very close family member, was President Hudson’s reply."
"Is President Hudson trying to subtly tell us that they share a relationship?"
"I am rooting for this couple immediately," a previous commenter declared.
"President Hudson and our beautiful princess, whatever your plans are in the future I hope you will always be happy together."
Shawn couldn’t help but mumble an "Amen" to that person’s wish.
"I am giving my blessings immediately."
Shawn was grinning from ear to ear, as he read further.
The comments were coming in torrents and Shawn could no longer keep up with them no matter how fast he tried. He would only pick a few lines before they were pushed down by other comments.
Another message from Johnson came in again.
"Boss, what do we do about the news? Should we bring it down?"
Shawn’s smiling face was instantly replaced with a frosty expression. He didn’t bother to type a reply to Johnson’s message but outrightly called him.
"Are you out of your mind?" he stormed.
"I think you are getting too old for your job. Maybe I should look for someone with a fresh mind to replace you," he threatened.
"Boss?" Johnson’s mouth hung agape for almost a minute when he heard his Boss’s rebuke. He didn’t know what he did wrong this time to warrant such a threatening outcome.
In the past, he had always warned him not to allow any news about him and the Madam to be made known to the public, why was he suddenly angered when he brought up the issue?
Or was it because he had delayed and didn’t take action immediately?
With that he got ready to apologize before asking the head of IT to clear the news but just when he opened his mouth to speak, he received an outrageous order.
"Before nightfall I want every media house, social media handle and newspapers to make that article go viral," Shawn’s commanding voice sounded.
"Any news apart from what is reported about my wife and I, must be taken down immediately. Nothing should replace it or take its place as the number one trending news for the next two weeks."
"Anything outside of that, just look for an assistant for me before visiting the HR for your remunerations."
"Are we clear on that?" Shawn asked after barking out his orders.
"Yes boss, and it will be accurately carried out sir."
"Good. I need the hard copy of the contract with Wyatt Corporations delivered to me in the next twenty five minutes. I will be at Wyatt Corporations about that time."
"I will be right there waiting for you, Boss," Johnson managed to respond despite the conflicting thoughts in his mind.
He felt a sudden urge to bundle his boss and hand him over to his psychiatrist to spend at least a month there.
Just yesterday, he had said he was jobless, snooping around for irrelevant matters but didn’t fail to still make use of the said "irrelevant information" when the time came.
He was again surprised to receive his call this morning informing him that he was going to the same court where the supposedly irrelevant matter was to be decided on.
"I hope he is not gradually losing it. What a waste it would be for such an outstanding man to be a mental case."
"He even asked me to look for an assistant that would replace me. Where is that ever done in this life?"
"Sorry to disappoint you, boss, but unfortunately, you are saddled with me for life," Johnson said to himself after his boss ended the call.
From the rear mirror, the driver saw his boss’s expression and felt inexplicably sorry for Johnson.
’How could he not understand Boss after all these years of working with him?’
Anything that concerns Madam, must take top priority and must be approached with caution. ’May God help you this time, Johnson,’ he offered a silent prayer for his colleague.
