Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1028: Putting Hands on Him
The sudden voice startled Summer Sutton, and her face abruptly turned around.
The person who walked in was an elderly man who looked about seventy, his hair starting to gray, but his spirit was still strong.
The old man’s walking pace was steady and measured, each step seeming to exude an oppressive force.
When Summer Sutton saw the old man’s face, she immediately guessed who he was.
She had done her homework before coming, having seen pictures of the old man online.
Summer Sutton bowed respectfully when the old man approached, "Hello, Old Master Ink!"
The Old Master Ink merely hummed softly, then walked over to the coffee table, picked up a set of car keys, and headed out the door.
He seemed intent on leaving, despite the heavy rain outside, seemingly indifferent.
Even at his age, he still drove himself around.
His behavior left Summer Sutton a bit stunned.
The old man didn’t linger in the living room; after taking the keys, the housekeeper escorted him out with an umbrella.
Summer Sutton watched his figure fade into the distance, her gaze cautiously turning to Manuel Ink.
What Old Master Ink just said wasn’t actually wrong.
The Ink Family was clearly affluent, and Summer Sutton feared that if the old man intervened, obtaining the method to heal Watt Bennet’s leg injury would become even harder.
Manuel Ink didn’t give her a direct answer; he stood up and headed to the dining room ahead of her.
"Hungry? Come over!"
Summer Sutton had been standing outside for a day and night without having a meal or sleep, so saying she wasn’t hungry would be a lie.
How could she not be hungry?
She was almost faint from hunger.
However, her purpose for coming here hadn’t been achieved, so even with a lavish feast laid out by Manuel Ink, she couldn’t eat.
Summer Sutton remained rooted in her spot, not moving.
Seeing she hadn’t followed, Manuel Ink turned his head slightly to glance at her.
"Come over!" he called out again, his volume slightly raised.
Afraid to annoy him, Summer Sutton hesitated before finally following him.
The food in the dining room seemed to have been prepared in advance.
A table of Chinese lunch, all catered to her tastes.
After sitting down, Summer Sutton stared at the full table of dishes, surprised for a moment.
Having spent a few days with Manuel Ink, it wasn’t surprising he knew her preferences.
What shocked Summer Sutton was that he actually remembered them...
She raised her face again, her gaze falling on him. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Manuel Ink offered no explanation, simply tossing a word her way, "Eat."
His tone was unlike Adrian Walyon, who always spoke in a domineering manner.
Though Manuel Ink’s presence was cold and strong, Summer Sutton thoughtfully recalled that when he spoke to her, his demeanor never matched the sharpness of his presence.
His tone with her was consistently mild, slightly chilly, like the breeze in early spring, faintly cool but not chilling.
He likely hadn’t eaten lunch either; after uttering a word to Summer Sutton, he picked up chopsticks and silently began eating.
Summer Sutton had no choice but to join him in the meal.
With Watt Bennet’s issue unresolved, Summer Sutton’s heart couldn’t settle.
After just a couple of bites, her face suddenly lifted.
"About what I said earlier..." she began, trying to steer the conversation back to business, but as soon as she spoke, Manuel Ink casually retorted, "Eat properly!"
