Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1029: Such Poor Taste
Summer Sutton had no choice but to keep her head down and quietly continue eating.
Manuel Ink was a man of few words. During meals, if Summer Sutton didn’t start talking, he wouldn’t proactively speak even once.
Finally finishing their meal, Summer Sutton watched him stand up, seemingly ready to leave the restaurant. She quickly followed a few steps and grabbed his arm, "About what I just said..."
Her actions were a bit rushed, and in a moment of haste, she didn’t consider much.
It seemed that after just one afternoon, Manuel Ink was already used to her being so hasty, always "hands-on."
His reaction was calm. He turned his head to look at her, his thin lips slightly moving as if about to say something, when suddenly, the butler’s urgent voice came from outside.
"Young master, something bad has happened, the Old Master has been in a car accident!"
Summer Sutton was shocked by the butler’s words, startled.
He was just fine, how did he get into a car accident?
Manuel Ink reacted very calmly, as if such things often happened in the Ink Family; his expression didn’t even show much concern.
"Where is he now?" he turned his head to ask the butler, walking to the door to pick up an umbrella.
"In the large garden, the car fell into a small river while returning." said the butler.
Manuel Ink didn’t ask much, holding the umbrella and leading the way to the large garden.
"I’ll go with you!" Summer Sutton didn’t wait for his answer, undeterred, she followed after a few steps.
She was somewhat reserved in front of Manuel Ink. It was pouring rain outside, but she didn’t take an umbrella nor did she dare to share his, so she trailed behind him from a distance.
Manuel Ink frowned, seemingly displeased.
When they reached the entrance of the Ink Family manor, he reached back and pulled her over, sharing half the umbrella’s shelter with her.
Summer Sutton stiffened a bit, but did not refuse.
Silently, she walked with him outside.
The Ink Family’s garden was divided into two parts—a closed one that the family often used daily, and an open one, which was so vast that no houses could be seen for miles, that Summer Sutton had visited yesterday. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Once outside, they walked for a few minutes before finding the Old Master of the Ink Family, whose car was still stuck in the water.
Despite the Old Master’s age, he was still hale and hearty, full of energy.
After the accident, there was a minor scratch on his forehead, but he ignored it, instead complaining about his car, "What a lousy car! It’s such a poor drive. It’s just rain, but it’s as slippery as anything. Manuel Ink, what’s with your standards? No taste at all."
The car was apparently chosen with Manuel Ink’s help, and after complaining about the car, he also criticized the level of Manuel Ink’s car selection.
Summer Sutton was stunned for a moment by his words, slowly processing the name she just heard in her mind.
Manuel Ink?
Is this the sun’s name?
"It’s your driving skill," Manuel Ink said calmly as he reached the riverbank and leaned down to inspect the car.
"What are you talking about? What’s wrong with my driving skills? You’d better explain properly!" The Old Master seemed displeased with his words, almost rolling up his sleeves.
"Your skills are terrible," Manuel Ink said more directly.
"You, you, you rascal!" The Old Master seemed angered by him, reaching out of the car window to smack Manuel Ink on the head.
