Relentless Pursuit After Divorce

"Edward, do you have any shame left? How much money does Olivia have in her account? Why did you take it? Are you trying to push her to a dead end?"

Thomas glared angrily at Edward, his entire body shielding Olivia, eyes wide open.

Edward smiled indifferently, pointing at Olivia with his chin, and said:

"Wasn’t it her who just said she didn’t want anything and wanted to return the money in her account to us? The Smith Family’s money, even if it’s just a penny, belongs to the Smith Family. Why should it go to outsiders?"

He had never been close to Olivia since childhood, so there was no sibling affection, and he wouldn’t be swayed by the so-called mother-daughter bond like their mother.

The reason for keeping her around was due to other considerations, but keeping her didn’t mean she could still enjoy the treatment of the Smith Family’s eldest daughter.

If she liked staying so much, then let her stay properly.

"As for forcing her to a dead end, where did that come from? Aren’t our Smith Family’s servants provided with food and lodging?"

Saying this, he looked at the manager of the Smith Family estate as if he was really just discussing a servant hiring matter.

Olivia could clearly hear Edward deliberately emphasizing the word "servant," making her face grow slightly paler.

"Are you saying you just said that to fool us because you wanted to stay?" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Olivia was afraid Edward would drive her away. Edward was a completely heartless person; trying to move him with so-called family affection was useless.

So, afraid she couldn’t fool Edward, she quickly shook her head:

"No... it’s not, Edward. I don’t want anything. I’ll transfer the money from my account to you later."

She thought that after a while, this very busy Edward might forget about this matter.

Although a few hundred thousand isn’t much, it is still a considerable sum.

Just as this idea came to her mind, she heard Edward say:

"I’ll have my assistant send you the account number later. If I haven’t received the money by this time tomorrow, I’ll ask you again."

Thomas was so angry his eyes almost popped out. He stepped forward to reason with Edward but was held back by Olivia.

She looked aggrieved, biting her teeth, bearing the humiliation while looking pleadingly at Thomas, shaking her head at him.

Thomas felt indignant but still accepted Olivia’s plea, forcibly holding back.

Olivia thought Edward was already excessive enough, but when he turned to go upstairs, he said to the butler standing in the living room:

"Arrange a job for her."

The butler froze for a moment, not understanding what Edward meant.

Seeing Edward look at Olivia, his cold and indifferent lips curled slightly upwards in an arc, he said:

"Didn’t she want to be a servant? Show me how."

Olivia looked at Edward in disbelief, seeing his cold and unwavering sharpness, not allowing her even a single word of refusal.

"Edward, don’t go too far."

Thomas rushed forward again to reason with Edward but saw Edward only glanced at him indifferently and said:

"If you think I’m excessive, feel free to leave. The Smith Family doesn’t lack servants."

"You..."

Thomas wanted to continue but was stopped by Olivia.

She knew Edward was determined to humiliate her, no matter what Thomas said, it wouldn’t change his mind.

Instead, it would anger Edward, leading him to kick her out directly, making all her previous efforts futile.

"Thomas, I’m fine, you don’t need to worry."

Saying this, she timidly glanced at Edward again.
