Gabriel rolled on the ground, shouting from the pain he felt across his body.

It felt like his insides had been set on fire, as if his veins were filled with burning lava, as if his own bones were scalding hot pieces of metal.

His own body turned against him at this moment.

"Aaargh!" The reversed Conquering Essence flowed through Gabriel’s body, causing a lot of immediate damage.

Some of his fleshy mane tendrils began to fall off and tumors grew on his furless skin.

The immortals wanted to rush down to approach Gabriel but when they sensed the cause of his agony, they retreated in fear.

That was reversed Conquering Essence. Wasn’t it supposed to be destroyed after the All-King killed the Primordial Horse? How was it here?

There were a lot of questions but no time to answer them.

"You!" Gabriel gritted his teeth, fighting through the pain of his dissolving body to stand up.

"This is the curse! We are at the mercy of our own law!"

He looked around at the hovering immortals, looking like a heretic priest who was begging for someone to hear him out.

Someone, anyone.

He just needed them to understand.

"Look at me! Look at me!

Have we not sacrificed too much for our ways? They cursed us and we called it nature!

How naive are we!

But with the power of the Law of Slavery, we can truly be free to take control of the world the right way...

We can have all that we have always wanted..."

His skin started to dissolve into black and yellow goo. The reversed Conquering Essence was eating him from the inside out.

Gabriel had a guess as to where the reversed Conquering Essence was coming from.

A small amount of reversed Conquering Essence couldn’t kill him, but it could cause serious harm if it was pumped in excess.

Reversed Conquering Essence was not like the power of the Anti-Lionheart. The Anti-Lionheart did not exactly kill anyone unless they were too weak or the Anti-Lion himself was too strong.

It mostly just took away their powers.

But reversed Conquering Essence was not only going to take away their powers, but it was going to kill them in the process just like how it was doing to Gabriel.

It was the same thing that had happened in the series of Annihilations started by the late Empress Elizabeth and her Regent.

It was the same thing that happened when Derylia had offered her powers to the dragons for the first time.

It did not differentiate between weak and strong.

A tier 6 Anti-Lion may not be able to do much to a tier 7 and would probably have zero effect on an immortal.

But the reversed Conquering Essence did not care. Whether they were immortal or not, it had almost the same effect.

This did not mean that the Conquering Essence was omnipotent though. Strong lions could force themselves to survive long enough to escape the source of the reversed Conquering Essence.

For that was the only true defence against Reversed Conquering Essence.

To escape.

If it came in very small amounts, any lion could try to use their will to survive the pain as the Conquering Essence would be consumed before it could kill them.

If the Reversed Conquering Essence was at the right amount, they could only hope for a quick death or for another lion to come and share their agony.

Because Reversed Conquering Essence was operating in terms of quantity, not quality.

Quantity was all that mattered when it came to weaponizing reversed Conquering Essence.

With the right quantity, even a supreme immortal will fall.

The amount of Reversed Conquering Essence Kael must have gathered just for this event must have been staggering. Especially when he hadn’t been sure who the traitor was.

He had still made preparations.

This went to show just how extreme Kael was in his planning. Even willing to pull out a trump card that he had been keeping for a while just to make sure everything went smoothly.

But as it could be seen, the quantity was not enough.

If it was, Gabriel would have died instantly, he wouldn’t have had any time to talk as his whole body would have melted.

Gabriel lamented and roared, but no one came to share in his pain. If they touched him, perhaps, they could sacrifice a part of themselves to shoulder the burden.

But why would they do such a thing for this traitor?

Gabriel looked around him and saw that no one looked at him with kind eyes.

Confusion? Sure.

Distrust? Definitely.

But none carried kindness.

All those lions and lionesses that he had once been kind to in hopes that when the time came, they would turn over to his side, they just stared at him.

Waiting for him to die.

Perhaps this was for the best.

"Nooo!" Gabriel roared, "I refuse!" He stomped his paws as flesh continued to fall off his body.

"You all have forced my hand! No matter what happens, just know that I didn’t choose this path, you all pushed me!

Your inability to reason the truth has forced me!"

A massive gust of power surged out of Gabriel. The gist of power was not only very powerful and apocalyptic, but it also made the surrounding lions very uncomfortable.

Like they were staring at the embodiment of an insult.

Meanwhile, Kael who still had the pillar of golden energy flowing out of his mouth to corrupt the rules of the Original Heaven shuddered.

His limbs trembled and his gaze blurred.

Even though he had taken an allegedly intangible spirit form at the final moment, it wasn’t so simple. Gabriel was too strong.

Gabriel simply passing through Kael’s transparent body at that speed left a lot of damage that Kael was not yet willing to address.

He had to lock in and make sure everything happened at the right time.

He also felt that uncomfortable feeling coming from Gabriel who was supposed to be experiencing a slow and agonizing end.

He also received a very strange notification.
