Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress - Chapter 664: A Tour Around Lobelius Palace
Moreover, Arabella was rather delighted that Ferdinand also liked her favorite Lobelian dishes.
Her younger siblings kept getting stiff every time she said Ferdinand’s name and kept getting astounded that Ferdinand was fine with it and was acting like any normal human being.
Because of all the rumors about Ferdinand, they had such a negative image of him too, and thought he might blow up any second and scold Arabella or the people around them. They even feared he might kill someone if he got irked as the rumors said. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Thus, they were so surprised that Ferdinand had been accommodating and gentle to Arabella the whole time. He did not give them glares or any kind of intimidation or insult either.
Benjamin already told their three younger siblings that Arabella was fine since Ferdinand was better than they expected and was treating Arabella very well.
But Nicholas, Eloisa, and Lorelei thought their oldest brother was just saying so they would not worry.
Now, they finally saw for themselves that what Benjamin told them was true.
After an hour and thirty minutes of mealtime and conversing with her siblings, Arabella decided to give Ferdinand a tour around the palace so her younger siblings could breathe and relax.
They were so careful around Ferdinand that Arabella got worried they might get indigestion.
Arabella glanced at Benjamin to give him a warning before she said to her younger siblings, "We will be giving my husband a tour around the palace. Nick, Loisa, and Lei, you can stay here and rest."
"Right. You three should stay here and check the gifts," Benjamin understood why Arabella told them to stay.
Benjamin rose from his seat. As the eldest and the Crown Prince, who was already acting as the King, he needed to be with Arabella and Ferdinand since he was the host.
Arabella and Ferdinand followed suit. Ferdinand rose first and offered his hand to Arabella. This was already normal to the two of them but to her younger siblings who had such a negative image of Ferdinand, even this was a surprise.
[He is acting like any other noble. And he is even acting like a gentleman. He had been so nice to Elder Sister since they arrived. He even gave us lots of gifts. I really love the sword he gave me. But I can’t let my guard just yet.]
Nicholas did not want to let his guard down too early only to regret it later.
[Is he pretending just for a show since they are here in Lobelius? Or does he truly like Elder Sister? He seemed to truly enjoy the dishes earlier and his eyes were almost always on Elder Sister.]
Eloisa noticed that Ferdinand seemed to truly like Arabella but was worried all of it might just be an act since they were here in Lobelius and he might act differently in Valeria.
[He seems to be nicer than we thought. But he’s so tall that he’s still scary.]
Lorelei was so delighted with the flute that she already thought Ferdinand was not a bad person but she was still scared of him since he was so tall compared to her.
The three were not yet sure what was the truth so they were still on guard since this was only the first time they met Ferdinand.
Benjamin was the only one who was not scared of Ferdinand but still wary nonetheless.
Arabella stopped herself from chuckling as their younger siblings sighed in relief once they exited the dining hall.
It would still take some time for them to understand that Ferdinand was truly unlike any of the rumors that had been going around about him.
Arabella could not force them to relax around her husband immediately so she gave them a break.
After all, it took her a second life and a mind-reading ability to be able to understand Ferdinand and be this close to him.
Arabella and Benjamin then toured Ferdinand around Lobelius’ palace. They explained some of the history of Lobelius to Ferdinand.
Ferdinand listened well and was extra attentive when Benjamin was talking just in case Benjamin tried to ask questions related to it later just to check if Ferdinand truly listened to his explanations.
They also toured around the garden to show the areas Arabella loved to visit especially when she was a child.
Arabella wanted to shut Benjamin up since the latter kept talking about where Arabella played around when she was a child and what she did in the past. But Ferdinand was so interested in it that even when Arabella tried to check the topic several times, there was no use.
"Arabella loved to pick flowers here the most even when she was little. Everyone ensured all the flower gardens were tended well since she asked to pick flowers at any time of the day," Benjamin recollected as they walked along Arabella’s former flower garden.
They call it hers since it was her favorite spot since she was young. And when she grew up, she held a lot of her tea parties here.
"I see. She does love flowers even now. I pick a bouquet for her every day," Ferdinand relayed as he looked around the garden filled with various kinds of flowers.
It had already become her husband’s habit so Arabella did not stop him. There were a lot of flowers to pick in Riva and Estrella so she had no complaints about seeing a new bouquet on her bedside upon waking up or seeing it already in the vase.
Ferdinand had learned to diversify so he did not hand her the flowers every day. Sometimes he places them in her room, in her office, or her study. He simply leaves a handwritten note that says, ’To Arabella,’ to ensure she knows that he was the one who left the flowers for her.
[There are so many kinds of flowers here. Should I get more flowers for the garden in Riva?] Ferdinand was getting ideas as they toured around.
