Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress - Chapter 663: Lunch Date with Them
Arabella warned Eloisa so that the latter would not be careless with the book.
After all, since it was a language used for casting some magic spells, people might kill just to get their hands on it. Thus, such a safety measure was necessary.
Arabella already knew though that Eloisa would treasure it since she had been looking for such a book for a while but could not find one.
"My deepest gratitude for this book, Your Imperial Majesty," Eloisa thanked Ferdinand and glanced at Arabella with a knowing look and smiled.
[Elder sister must have told him. The gifts for Elder Brother Benjamin and Nicholas both suited them well. His Majesty would not have known without Sister’s help.]
Eloisa knew Arabella was the one who told Ferdinand about this so he knew what gift to pick.
Arabella simply smiled back, glad that what she recalled her siblings liked was still the same in this life.
Lorelei then opened the gift for her. She took much longer since she carefully unwrapped the box and gently opened it with expectation twinkling in her eyes.
"Oh, it’s a flute!" Lorelei marveled as she finally removed the lid of the box.
Lorelei received a flute since she loved music and was a musician herself. Lorelei was still young, yet she could already play a lot of instruments.
Among Arabella and all her siblings, Lorelei was the most talented in music.
"Wow, this flute is exquisite! I love the sound it makes. It’s lightweight too," Lorelei’s eyes sparkled in delight after trying to play it.
"Yes, it’s imbued with magic to make it lighter," Arabella explained.
The flute was made from a rare metal but it was a bit heavy so they placed a spell on it to make it lighter so that Lorelei could play it comfortably.
Knowing her younger sister, Arabella knew Lorelei would use it continuously for hours so it would be best if it was light.
"Wow! Thank you! I love this!" Lorelei mused.
Lorelei looked so adorable that Arabella could not help patting her head. This was her sign of aging. She could not stop herself from doing this because Fermin loved it. She got so used to doing this to children.
Thankfully, Lorelei was so happy about her gift and had missed Arabella so she did not think it was strange.
Arabella smiled and glanced at her husband who sighed in relief that everyone liked the gifts they received.
The other gifts were opened and presented by the servants before they could finally have their meal.
Since her siblings liked their gifts, the mood was so much better compared to when they just arrived. They all thanked Arabella and Ferdinand for the gifts and souvenirs from Valeria.
After all, it was rare to get even a single item from Valeria who did not trade with other nations.
This was why the gifts Arabella had brought with her to Medeus for the Yearly Assembly months ago were treasured by the royals since it was something they could brag home about.
"Oh my! I missed these," Arabella excitedly placed lots of food on her plate.
[Is she not worried her husband would be disappointed in her?] Eloisa was shocked as she watched her.
’Hehe. Ferdinand likes seeing me eat a lot. That will not be a problem at all,’ Arabella smiled at Eloisa in assurance.
Young ladies were usually taught from childhood not to eat too much and gain weight. Thus, they do not show to others when they eat a lot.
During formal meals, they only taste all the food that was served with just a forkful. If they liked it, they would get another forkful or two but they never ate a lot in front of other people unless it was their socialite group they trusted.
But gossip was a common thing too so young noble ladies usually only pig out in their own rooms when they were all alone.
Thus, even Eloisa and Lorelei were trained to watch out for how they eat especially in front of guests.
For married ladies, it was even worse since they needed to maintain a good figure to impress their husbands.
Since arranged marriages were common, a lot of married couples remained formal with each other since they may have met the first time when they got engaged or on the day of the wedding itself.
A lot of ladies had to live with the pressure of maintaining a low weight to beat the standards set by other nobles and remain attractive and pleasing not only to their spouses but even more so to the aristocrats.
Arabella had also lived with such standards for so long and had thus always remained slim. But after leaving her former life doing all, she wanted to have bits of freedom from such things from time to time.
Moreover, she already lost so much weight while Ferdinand was away so she was still recovering now.
Ferdinand even ensures she eats on time and he likes it when she eats a lot.
’Oh, right! I have to introduce these to Ferdinand,’ Arabella almost forgot that Ferdinand did not know what these dishes were. She got too excited because these were her favorites.
Benjamin had ensured that the chefs prepared dishes that Aletha did not teach Alfredo so Arabella could eat Lobelian dishes she was not able to enjoy in Valeria.
"Ferdinand, you should try these..." Arabella introduced all the dishes to Ferdinand while giving him a spoonful so he would know what he would like to eat among all the dishes that were served.
Her siblings were rather nervous at first, worried that Ferdinand would not like Lobelian cuisine. However, Ferdinand was not picky with food since he was enjoying the fact that he could finally taste food again.
Thus, new dishes like these were welcome to him.
With Ferdinand eating Lobelian cuisine without any problems, Arabella’s siblings finally relaxed and ate as well.
Their lunch was fun and Arabella enjoyed eating with all her siblings for the first time in a long time. Their tastes had not changed in this life based on the dishes they ate more than the others.
Moreover, Arabella was rather delighted that Ferdinand also liked her favorite Lobelian dishes.
