Chapter 32: Chapter 32 Do You Have Autism?_1

*********

Due to Chenxing’s reluctance to cooperate, she plunged into a state of grogginess for the following few days.

She made up her mind to leave, yet Gu Shaocheng imposed a full-on, 24-hour surveillance regime: no blind spots, no room to breathe. She was not alone even when attending lessons during the day. A female bodyguard would follow her into the restroom. At night, Gu Shaocheng would fall asleep with his arm around her. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Such confinement was akin to the experience of a prisoner. He maintained this treatment as long as she harbored the intention to leave. Chenxing was fully aware of this, hence, despite brimming with a deep resentment, she felt helplessly trapped.

But truth be told, her life was very good under his control.

In the Gu residence, everyone cherished her like the most precious gem.

One could argue that Gu Shaocheng showered her with an unprecedented level of affection.

Yet, to her, all this affection only left a bitter taste.

Curled up on a rattan chair, she watched the birds flutter to a halt on the balcony with envy. As the blood-red sunset painted the sky, another day had passed. When would it all end? She had no mental energy left to ponder such a question. After every single dream bubble was burst, she didn’t dare to even think about Xia Jianqing.

She realized that she was dirtied and that her secret crush was doomed to wither before it could blossom. Tears streaked down her cheeks. Upon entering the room, Gu Shaocheng saw her in a pitiful state, curled up into herself.

"Why are you crying?" He pointed his chin in her direction, walked towards her, cradled her in his arms, and gently wiped her tear-stained cheeks.

Gu Shaocheng couldn’t understand. He had merely cut off every possible escape for her, not imprisoned her. Still, she closed herself up in her room every day after school, brooding alone. He thought that she should venture out. His estate was expansive and equipped with various entertainment facilities, yet she confined herself to her room as if trying to brew an illness.

"Do you have social anxiety disorder?" Gu Shaocheng mused as he traced circles on her face with his finger. "I’ve been a little busy these days, but once I’m free, I’ll accompany you outside for a walk."

Chenxing pursed her lips and continued staring at the birds. Gu Shaocheng forcefully turned her face towards him. "I heard you haven’t eaten all afternoon? Are you hungry?" Before she could answer, he motioned for someone to bring over a bowl of aromatic chicken soup, scooped up a spoonful, and fed it to her, "Open your mouth, here you go..."

She refused to open her mouth, let alone eat anything. For two entire days, she didn’t even drink water.

One more time, Gu Shaocheng patiently attempted to feed her. It was yet another bowl of soup. When Chenxing refused it, he firmly held her jaw open, forced her lips apart, and poured half a bowl of soup into her mouth. Unexpectedly, she threw up all over him a moment later, then knocked the remaining half of the soup in his hand onto the floor. The yellowish drops trickled down his spick and span suit.

The attending servants gasped and didn’t dare breathe a word, staring in fright.

A quick-witted servant handed him a towel to clean up.

Ignoring the offered towel, he tossed the spoon onto the floor with a clatter, removed his soiled suit, lifted her off the comfortable Simmons mattress, and hoisted her onto his shoulder before stalking into the bathroom.

Thud!!

The slam of the door, followed by a woman’s scream from the bathroom, scared the daylights out of the wide-eyed servants.

Gu Shaocheng tossed her ruthlessly into the full bathtub, then took off his vomit-stained clothes. He stood under the showerhead, taking a hot shower, while constantly watching the woman struggling to get up from the water.
