Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 89: May Morgan Bewitched
She quickly placed the Jade Pendant at the site of May Morgan’s bleeding finger. As soon as the pendant touched May’s blood, it swiftly turned red, and the Dragon also immediately shrunk and was drawn inside.
The Red Dragon, once inside the pendant, didn’t immediately fall asleep but instead slowly swam in that smear of red blood.
"It’s done, quickly give me the pendant." Melanie Morgan saw the Dragon Insect inside the pendant had been subdued and hurriedly stepped forward to take it.
Who knew that as soon as her hand reached out, it was flung away by a blinding light.
When she struggled to stand up from the ground, she unexpectedly saw the old woman holding that blood-red pendant, placing it at May Morgan’s lips.
The old woman murmured some incomprehensible incantations under her breath, clutching the pendant tightly, and suddenly snapped it apart with force.
"What are you doing? Give me back the pendant!"
Realizing something was wrong, Melanie Morgan rushed at the woman again. The woman didn’t even glance at her, merely waved a large hand, and a beam of white light flashed forth, once again flinging Melanie harshly away.
The other people, witnessing this scene, were scared stiff, unsure of what to do, as these strange and supernatural occurrences were beyond their experience.
After the pendant was snapped apart by the woman, the Red Dragon inside it crawled out along the blood. The woman grasped May Morgan’s chin, forcing her mouth open, and the Red Dragon immediately darted into May’s mouth, vanishing from sight.
"Hahaha..." Seeing May swallow the Red Dragon, the old woman laughed triumphantly: "Matthew Monroe, I told you I would make you pay for what you did to me."
After finishing her words, a sudden flash of white light appeared, and the woman instantaneously vanished from everyone’s sight.
Melanie Morgan, feeling both angry and defeated, picked up the already broken pendant from the ground and looked at the still-unconscious May Morgan, momentarily unsure of what to do.
The old man required that both May and the pendant be returned to him intact, but now, the pendant was destroyed, and the Dragon Insect devoured by May. How could she explain this to the old man without incurring his wrath?
"Miss Melanie, what should we do?" The subordinate looked at Melanie and then at the pendant in her hand, unable to resist asking.
Melanie glanced at May’s face, suddenly overcome with resentment, picked up the knife beside her, and sliced into May’s face.
"Bitch, anyhow, the old man only wants you alive; he didn’t specify what condition you’re in."
After speaking, she violently slashed May’s fair face, causing May to wake with a start from the pain.
"What are you doing? Leave me alone!" May’s face bled profusely from Melanie’s cuts, and she struggled desperately.
Melanie grinned viciously, holding the knife. Looking at May’s face that she had marred so badly, she felt extremely delighted: "Bitch, you’re finally getting what you deserve today!"
After speaking, she began to act madly, slashing the knife down the other half of May’s face.
Seeing May’s blood-covered face, she laughed grimly like a bloodthirsty demon: "Does it hurt? It’s supposed to. I want to see how you’ll seduce men with this face from now on?"
May’s face throbbed with excruciating pain. She clenched her fists and struggled desperately, her insides ignited with fury upon seeing Melanie’s smug face.
"Melanie, you’ll die a terrible death!" May cursed through gritted teeth.
Melanie, holding the knife dripping with blood, laughed horrifyingly: "Die a terrible death? Your grandmother cursed me the same way as she was dying, but didn’t I end up living just fine? It remains to be seen who will die first!"
Needing May Morgan alive for the old man, she dared not to deal the killing blow. In her view, destroying May’s face was a greater victory than killing her.
"Untie this bitch’s ropes, then bring her with me."
Melanie bent down to pick up the shattered pendant from the ground, stuffed it into her pocket, and instructed the subordinate beside her.
The subordinate had just come over to untie May’s hands and feet. Looking up, he widened his eyes in astonishment: "Your, your face!"
Upon hearing the terrified shout from behind her, Melanie curiously turned her head and was struck pale by May Morgan’s face, stepping back several paces.
Where May’s ravaged face had been moments before was now healed perfectly on its own.
May still didn’t know what had happened to her face. Seeing the horrified looks everyone gave her, including Melanie, who was earlier arrogant and domineering but now quickly retreated to the doorway in fear. May couldn’t resist touching her face, only to find, mysteriously, her wound had disappeared at some unknown time.
Not only had the wound disappeared, but even the unbearable pain had quickly vanished.
How peculiar, how did she become this way?
Seeing May slowly approaching her, Melanie clenched the knife in her hand, threatening: "Don’t come any closer, you monster! Back off, or I’ll cut you to death!"
Watching the gleaming knife, May suddenly tightened her fist, fearlessly advancing step by step: "Did you kill my grandmother? Tell me!"
"So what if I did? That stubborn old woman deserved to die. If she had obediently given me the Jade Pendant, I wouldn’t have killed her." Melanie retorted to May through gritted teeth.
"As long as you admit it. I said whoever killed my grandmother, I would take their life. Melanie, today it’s either you die or I die!"
May suddenly grasped the knife in Melanie’s hand tightly, the blade instantly slicing into May’s palm, whereupon blood began to flow.
However, barely a trace of blood flowed from her hand before the wound on her wrist swiftly healed. Melanie screamed at the sight, hurriedly letting go of the knife.
"Monster, monster!" Melanie screamed, scrambling and crawling out of the basement, while her subordinates, terrified pale by May, hastily followed Melanie out. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Seeing them leave, May quickly discarded the knife, then pushed open the basement door and stepped out.
Above the basement lay an abandoned farmhouse courtyard. Outside the courtyard lay hills and woods.
This was a small house situated at the foot of the mountain. With no neighbors around, the moonlight was as bright as daylight, casting an eerie and terrifying glow over the courtyard.
May wore only a small tank top. A chill swept over her, making her shiver involuntarily.
