Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 88: The Dragon Insect Emerges
After she finished speaking, she gripped the knife and made a vicious cut on May Morgan’s head. The force of the cut was greater than ever before, causing May’s body to twitch in pain, nearly making her faint.
Soon, blood began to flow from the top of her head. As her fresh blood started to be injected into the five jars, the once-sealed jars began to shake uncontrollably.
Melanie Morgan saw this bizarre scene and was so frightened that she quickly stepped back several steps: "What kind of creepy things are in these jars?"
The old woman glanced down at her five jars. Seeing them shaking more violently, she couldn’t help but laugh, "You truly are the chosen one. Look how much the Poisonous Insects in my jars love your blood!"
Hearing that there were Poisonous Insects in the jars, a look of disgust instantly appeared on Melanie’s face. She quickly retreated to the corner of the room to observe the change, and the other men, seeing this, also followed her to the corner.
About five minutes later, May only felt as though the blood within her body was about to drain completely; her whole body was limp, devoid of any strength.
At that moment, before her eyes, large patches of fresh blood appeared, the scenes from her recurring nightmares emerging once again.
Melanie, seeing May’s eyes become hazy as if she were about to die from blood loss, quickly spoke to the old woman: "Don’t kill her, the master specifically instructed that she must remain alive."
The woman looked displeased at Melanie, clearly irritated by her interference: "I know."
She looked down at the jars on the ground, only to see that the five jars which had been shaking violently were finally calming down, eventually ceasing to move.
"It’s done!" Seeing this, the woman quickly grabbed May’s wrist, pulled out a small porcelain bottle, and applied some brown medicinal powder to May’s wound. The powder worked remarkably well, and as soon as it touched the wound on May’s wrist, it miraculously healed.
After stopping all of May’s wounds, the woman pinched May’s nearly unconscious face, glanced at it, and then rudely shoved her aside.
"How is she? Does she seem alright?" Melanie, seeing that the ritual had been completed, bravely approached the stone table to look at the half-dead May and then asked the woman.
"She’s alright, she won’t die. She just fainted." The woman turned to her five jars, bent down, and moved her five jars one by one to a rather crude altar by the door.
The altar was set at the entrance of the basement, facing a bright moon in the sky.
At this moment, a wisp of red cloud swirled above the bright moon in the sky, looking particularly eerie.
Melanie also followed the old woman to the entrance, looked up at the strange red cloud in the sky, and couldn’t help but ask her, "Do you think that red cloud in the sky is the Dragon Insect?"
The woman did not answer her question but bent down to open the first jar placed on the table. Melanie curiously peeked inside and was instantly so scared that her face turned pale, barely holding back the urge to vomit.
Inside the jar, besides a lot of blood, were the corpses of several dead insects, and right in the middle was an exceptionally fat centipede, raising its head to look at her, almost making her run off in fright.
This centipede was exceptionally large, about thirty centimeters long, covered in blood, with its mouth emitting a disgusting stench.
Having been pampered since childhood, Melanie would get terrified at the sight of a cockroach, let alone these horrifying creatures, nearly fainting on the spot.
"What kind of creepy things are you keeping in there?" Melanie asked the woman, pointing with a pale face at the contents of the jar.
The woman coldly laughed, not answering her foolish question, and instead reached her hand into the jar, grabbing the enormous centipede and placing it in a small cauldron on the altar.
Then, she opened the second and third jars in turn, putting the various Poisonous Insects into that cauldron.
As soon as she covered the lid, she suddenly knelt on the ground, muttering words incomprehensible to others.
Melanie found it terrifying and disgusting, quickly retreating to the side to observe the situation.
After praying for a while while kneeling on the ground, the woman took out a small porcelain bottle from her chest, poured the white powder inside completely into the cauldron.
As the white powder was poured in, a wisp of red smoke slowly drifted from the cauldron as if it had a soul, not dispersing but drifting straight up into the sky.
About a minute after the red smoke floated into the air, a startling thunder suddenly erupted in the once-clear, cloudless night sky, causing Melanie and the others to jump in shock.
Before they could react, dark clouds floated across the sky, and a heavy rain began to fall.
"Damn, what kind of freaky weather is this?" Seeing it rain, Melanie swiftly ran towards the basement, but the woman remained still, continuing to kneel at the altar, muttering something silently.
Another streak of startling lightning flashed across the sky, quickly followed by a red lightning bolt appearing in the sky.
"It’s here!"
Seeing the red lightning in the sky, the woman quickly stood up in excitement. Before she could stabilize her footing, the red lightning swiftly split the sky, rushing towards their direction.
Everyone only felt a dazzling red flash before their eyes and then saw nothing as if blinded.
When Melanie and the others could open their eyes to see the scene before them, they were shocked to see a red dragon circling over May’s head.
"Is this... the Dragon Insect?" Melanie’s body tensed, grabbing the old woman and asking in a low voice.
This is a dragon? A real dragon? Melanie had never seen such a miraculous thing in her life before, so she was momentarily at a loss for words.
"It’s the Dragon Insect, quickly give me that Jade Pendant!"
Seeing the successful summoning of the Dragon Insect, the old woman was very excited and quickly extended her hand to Melanie for the Jade Pendant.
Without hesitation, Melanie quickly took the Jade Pendant out of her pocket and handed it over to her.
The woman tightly held the Dragon-shaped Jade Pendant in her hand, took two steps forward, and knelt before the red dragon, muttering more incomprehensible spells.
The dragon circled over May’s head for a while, hearing the woman summoning it in secret language, then slowly floated towards the woman.
The Dragon Insect’s imposing presence was overwhelmingly powerful, causing Melanie to quickly retreat in fear, worried that the massive dragon would swallow her whole.
The old woman picked up the Jade Pendant in her hand, keeping a cautious eye on the red dragon above her while approaching May. She swiftly pulled out a dagger and pricked May’s fingertip, causing fresh blood to flow immediately from May’s finger.
