Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 320: I Already Agreed to You
May was flustered by his furious glare and hurriedly turned her face away to explain: "Jacob was just following orders; this has nothing to do with him."
"If he eats someone’s food, he must bear someone’s burden. Since Vincent sent him, who else should I take it out on if not him?"
Victor Grant’s face twisted in anger. He grabbed May’s arm and attempted to forcefully drag her into the car: "Let’s go, the government office will close soon."
"I’m not going; you can’t make me marry you this way!" May began to struggle desperately, but Victor’s grip was too strong for her to break free.
"Is it you can’t, or you won’t? May, I always knew you couldn’t let go of that man. You never intended to spend your life with me, did you?" Faced with May’s sudden change of heart, Victor’s long-restrained anger erupted completely.
He had gone to great lengths to win this woman, had never treated anyone so well, so gently. But in the end, how did she repay him? Just because Vincent was in a car accident, she wanted to abandon the marriage he had fought so hard to obtain?
Impossible, absolutely impossible!
She belonged to him in this life, and she would die his!
Victor suddenly became exceptionally brutal. His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at May, as if he wanted to devour her in one gulp.
"Today, whether you want to go or not, you will go!" He viciously slammed the car door shut and instructed the driver to start driving.
May glared at him fiercely, finally refusing to yield: "What if I say I’m not going?"
"Then don’t blame me for being ruthless!" A sly smile played at the corners of Victor’s lips as he turned to instruct the bodyguards outside: "Beat this man to death for me!"
The bodyguards hurriedly kicked Jacob to the ground and began the fiercest assault. These men were trained, each muscular and strong. After a few punches, Jacob was already coughing up blood, nearly unconscious on the ground.
"Victor Grant, that’s enough!" Seeing Jacob about to be beaten to death, May was so frightened that she quickly shouted at Victor to stop.
"Enough? It’s not enough!" Victor shot May a cold glance, suddenly pulling out a handgun from the car, and hurriedly got out, approaching Jacob.
"Do you believe I’ll personally kill this man?" Victor grabbed Jacob off the ground, pressing the gun barrel to his head.
Jacob looked up at Victor and with his last ounce of strength said to May: "Madam, don’t worry about me, Master is still waiting for you."
"Shut up, damn it!" Victor punched Jacob’s face, knocking him out cold.
"Victor Grant, don’t push me like this; I will hate you." Seeing Jacob in mortal danger in Victor’s hands, May felt a pang of heartache and burst into tears.
She wanted to go back to see Vincent, she desperately wanted to, and she didn’t want Jacob or Vincent to die because of her. Jacob was loyal and didn’t deserve to die here.
Victor coldly cocked the handgun in his hands, pointing it at Jacob’s head, giving May one last warning: "I’ll give you one last chance. Are you going to get the marriage certificate with me or not?"
May closed her eyes in despair. In that moment, she thought about many things. She knew that if she said no, Victor might actually shoot Jacob. Even though they were abroad, with the Grant’s influence, killing someone wasn’t a big issue, and Jacob’s body might never even make it back.
"May, I can tell you very clearly, the women Victor Grant wants, no one can escape. If you shake your head today, not only will I kill Jacob, but I will find a way to get rid of Vincent, too. It’s up to you."
Victor’s final threat finally crushed the inner struggle within May. She nodded with tears, compromising.
"I can marry you, but don’t hurt Jacob, don’t hurt anyone, let him go."
"Fine, once the certificate is obtained, I’ll order people to send this bastard back home!" Seeing May nod, Victor didn’t want to escalate things further. He turned around and handed Jacob over to someone else, then helped May into the car. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
As he helped May into the car, she suddenly looked up at him, making a request: "After we get the certificate, can I go back to see Vincent?"
Victor’s face darkened; just as he was about to speak, May hastily added, "I’m not going back to be with him. I just want to see him, make sure he’s alright, and then I’ll return!"
Victor frowned at May, then checked his watch. After all this commotion, it was already four in the afternoon. The French government had an early closing time; if they didn’t go soon, they wouldn’t make it today.
"Fine, we’ll get the certificate first."
To placate May, Victor reluctantly nodded.
The car soon arrived at the government office Victor had scheduled. There, everything necessary was already prepared, the witnesses Victor arranged all waiting. Since May’s English wasn’t great, she didn’t understand a word of what was going on, simply following Victor’s lead, signing when prompted.
After all the procedures were completed, Victor finally felt a great weight lift as he led May out.
"Now that we have the certificate, can you take me back home?" As soon as they got into the car, May looked expectantly at Victor’s face and asked.
Victor knew exactly why she was in such a hurry to get back, but he didn’t want to go back now, didn’t even want May to go back at all.
Go back for what? If they went back, sooner or later, she’d find her way back to that man. If they went back, all his painstaking efforts would have been in vain.
"It’s too late, the plane can’t take off now. We’ll go back tomorrow." Victor coldly dropped this line and then deliberately closed his eyes to rest, refusing to speak to May any further.
May stared at Victor for a while, worried about Vincent’s safety and feeling particularly anxious. Victor ignored her, but she had to gather the courage to plead with him.
"I can put off going home, but can you at least let me call him? I just want to ask about his condition at the hospital, nothing else."
May pleaded desperately with Victor.
Victor was growing increasingly annoyed, pushing away her hand gripping his arm and snapped, "Enough already? Today is the day we got married, and all you can think about is that man. What do you think this makes me?"
May was pushed onto the seat beside her, tears pooling in her eyes: "I just wanted to call and inquire, if you don’t want me to, fine, I won’t mention it again!"
