Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 282: Horrifying Deaths
His subordinate, named Kevin Warren, was considered a minor figure at Victor Grant’s company. He usually helped with ideas and played forward in games. Suddenly suffering such a major setback this time, he appeared somewhat dejected.
"Y-Yes, big brother, I’ll never dare to call you like that again."
May Morgan coughed awkwardly, quickly asking Kevin Warren seriously, "Tell me about your subordinates’ deaths. How exactly did they die?"
Upon hearing this, Kevin Warren looked at May Morgan with a face full of fear. After a while, he stuttered and shook as he explained to May Morgan and Victor Grant: "Following the boss’s instructions, we blocked that woman on Brianna White’s way home. Because she had a car, we could only set up roadblocks at her community entrance, waiting to catch her once she got out of the car. At first, everything was going smoothly — after she got out, we kidnapped her and brought her to our car. This woman was strange: she didn’t cry or shout upon being tied up, just coldly looked at us. Later, we discussed taking her to a nearby warehouse to film a video. She listened to us quietly without saying a word. At that time, I felt something was wrong with her — she was too calm. Later, after taking her to the designated warehouse, I went to the car to get a camera. Perhaps those guys were a bit impatient and started to move on her first. When I pushed the door open and went inside, I saw the guys on the ground writhing in agony. Before long, they bled from every orifice and died. I was terrified and scrambled to the car to escape."
Apparently traumatized by the terrifying scene earlier, after describing it, Kevin Warren’s face was ashen, cold sweat poured, and he didn’t seem to be lying.
Victor Grant looked at Kevin Warren and contemplated: "Where are those men’s bodies now?"
Kevin Warren was only concerned with his escape and fear, so naturally, he hadn’t dealt with those men. He stuttered in response: "They’re, they’re still at the original warehouse. I didn’t dare go there, for fear..."
Since these few people weren’t doing anything legitimate, reporting it would definitely result in investigation. Victor Grant hired them for this task, so whether or not to report it depended on Victor’s decision.
Victor Grant furrowed his brows in thought and said to the person: "Take me to have a look first. If it’s really as you say, I’ll let you off. If not, you’ll pay for this."
Victor Grant had a strong sense of camaraderie, and while he wouldn’t go as far as shooting a cowardly subordinate, he wouldn’t spare them the pain. This guy abandoned his men and returned, breaking Victor’s set rules. Should he lie out of cowardice, Victor certainly wouldn’t let him off easily.
Kevin Warren repeatedly stood up from the sofa but dared not take Victor Grant with him, likely because the previous incident truly scared him witless.
"Boss, why not report it directly to the police and let them handle it? What if that woman hasn’t left, and she attacks you when you go over?"
Victor Grant wouldn’t believe that a woman too weak to kill a chicken could pull off such a stunt. Right then, he punched Kevin Warren in the head, angrily chastising him: "Idiot, reporting before clarifying the situation, and if the police investigate, won’t we end up in legal trouble? Stop wasting time and show me the way."
Seeing Victor Grant insist on going, Kevin Warren had no temper left. He meekly opened the door to leave, picked out some clever brothers, then drove Victor Grant to the problematic warehouse.
After driving for more than half an hour, they finally reached the outskirts of Silverwood City, near an abandoned warehouse. The moonlight was particularly bright tonight, and from afar, they could see the abandoned warehouse bathed in white moonlight, appearing especially eerie in the bleak, dark night sky.
Upon reaching the warehouse, Victor Grant worried the bloodshed inside would discomfort May and advised her not to go down. But May knew if what Kevin Warren said was true, only she could determine how they truly died.
"I’ve seen corpses before, who are you underestimating?" Before Victor could stop her, May decisively opened the passenger door, stepping down from the car with Victor and the others.
Victor Grant was truly impressed by May’s stubbornness. He thought, couldn’t a young lady spend the night wrapped in blankets asleep instead of running to this bloody scene with him?
He sighed helplessly, pulling May protectively behind him: "Stay behind me, don’t wander off. Otherwise, I’ll lock you in the car."
This time Victor Grant’s tone left no room for negotiation. May knew she couldn’t argue against him, reluctantly sighing and obediently following him.
The warehouse door was ajar, a slight push opened it, and immediately a strong smell of blood permeated, causing everyone to instinctively cover their noses and stand alert at the door, not daring to step further.
The warehouse wasn’t entirely dark due to large gaps in the roof, the moonlight shining through and illuminating the floor in a ghostly white.
May focused her gaze and saw indeed, in the center of the warehouse lay three corpses strewn disorderly.
However, due to limited indoor lighting, the details of their deaths weren’t clear to everyone, and the corner of the warehouse remained ominously dark.
Victor Grant dared not move forward rashly, instructing his subordinates to bring two strong flashlights to illuminate the warehouse. With that, the warehouse’s contents became clear.
Upon closer inspection, besides the three dead, the warehouse was merely littered with useless garbage, and Brianna White had long disappeared.
Victor Grant concluded the warehouse was relatively safe, then signaled his subordinates to scout ahead. After ensuring it was secure, he led May inside.
May followed Victor Grant to the side of the deceased, first shining her flashlight on their faces. As Kevin Warren described, they died bleeding from every orifice.
Judging by the degree of face distortion, they must have endured extreme pain before dying.
Victor Grant crouched down, staring at the dead, asking Kevin Warren: "Didn’t Brianna White chase after you when you fled?"
Kevin Warren, embarrassed, explained to Victor Grant: "I-I ran fast, and that woman couldn’t catch up with me. Later, with the car running, I simply drove off and left her behind. That woman probably didn’t catch up."
