Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Are You Here to Make Trouble?

"Where’s my brother?" Maxwell Vance looked around upon entering and, not seeing Vincent Vance, rudely asked May Morgan.

May pretended not to hear, hugging a pillow while watching TV. Seeing she ignored him, Maxwell asked again, "May, where’s my brother?"

May rolled her eyes and, annoyed, retorted, "Can’t you call me sister-in-law? I’m your sister-in-law now!"

Maxwell wasn’t one to be easily intimidated, and with a quick shift of his eyes, he intentionally pulled Adam Owens over and said, "Adam, this is my sister-in-law, say hi to her!"

Adam’s face turned dark with anger, thinking, I know she’s your sister-in-law, you don’t need to remind me.

Noticing Adam’s sour expression, May coughed dryly and deliberately asked Maxwell, "Aren’t you busy today? Shouldn’t you go back to the Vance Residence to pay your respects to Grandpa?"

Normally, the second day after marriage, a member of the Vance Family should go back to pay respects to the elders. Maxwell had already done that with Adam, and having settled that, naturally came to Zenith Villa.

"We’ve already been to see Grandpa, so we’re here to see you and my brother. By the way, where’s my brother?"

Thinking of Vincent, May was filled with anger but didn’t want Maxwell to see her embarrass herself, so she intentionally lied, "He went to the office early this morning, no time to come back today."

"Then we’ll stay for lunch before leaving. I’ll give my brother a call later and ask him to come back." Maxwell was determined to impose on May by staying for lunch.

May was truly annoyed by Maxwell; whenever he was around, she felt uncomfortable all over, especially since Adam was here too. Despite having no feelings for Adam anymore, they used to be lovers—it wasn’t awkward for everyone to meet?

"You really plan on having lunch at my place? Fine, I still remember Adam’s favorite dishes. Let me have the chef prepare a few." May mischievously looked at Maxwell, provoking him.

Maxwell was startled and quickly pushed Adam off the couch, signaling for him to leave: "Adam has work at the office, he won’t be staying for lunch, I’ll stay."

"Oh, right!" Maxwell dragged Adam outside and instructed the servant beside him, "Go to my car and bring down my suitcase."

May’s eyes widened, thinking what the hell does he mean by bringing a suitcase? Is he planning to stay at his parent’s house?

The servant agreed and went outside to bring in Maxwell’s oversized suitcase. With gestures, Maxwell directed the servants to move his things into a guest room near May’s bedroom on the second floor, clearly intending to stay long-term at the parent’s house.

May’s head was about to explode at that moment, okay? She and Maxwell never got along, and now he deliberately ran over to live with her—is this on purpose to cause trouble?

Moreover, did he suddenly say he wanted to move back with Vincent’s consent?

"Are you planning to live at Zenith Villa? Did you call your brother?" May looked at Maxwell with a speechless expression, commanding servants as if he was at home, and said speechlessly.

Maxwell provocatively glanced at May, deliberately saying, "Of course I called, otherwise how would I dare move back in? It was my brother’s suggestion. He said you’re bored alone at home and should come back more often to keep you company!"

Damn!

So this was Vincent’s idea? May was furious and wanted to curse, Vincent, Vincent, you’re too sinister, right? After how I treated you yesterday, today you’re screwing me over like this?

May quietly sneaked back to her room, grabbed her phone, and decisively called Vincent, "Vincent, what do you mean? You know my values clash with your sister’s, yet you let her move back in—is this intentional to embarrass me?"

Right off the bat, May went on a rampage, but after she finished, there was no response from that side. Just as May thought she had dialed the wrong number, a woman’s tender voice suddenly came through the phone, "Who are you?"

Hmm?

May widened her eyes in horror, hurriedly picked up her phone and looked at the name on the screen—no mistake, it was Vincent’s number, but... who was this woman?

"Who are you?" May gasped, trying to control her emotions as she asked.

"Hehe, who do you think I am?" The woman’s provoking voice slowly came, almost making May’s lungs explode with anger.

Isn’t this obviously a scandalous situation?

"Where’s Vincent? Tell him to answer the phone!" May tried her best to suppress her inner fury and spoke to that vile woman.

"Sorry, he’s resting now, I can’t disturb him, call back later!" The woman chuckled, and without waiting for May to speak further, she quickly hung up the phone. When May tried to call back, the other side had already turned off the phone. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Dammit...

May angrily tossed aside the phone; just as she was about to leave the room, she saw Maxwell leaning against her bedroom door, looking at her with a cold smile.

"What’s so funny?" May glared at Maxwell with a bad expression, anger evident.

Maxwell had secretly listened to the phone conversation earlier and now felt a strong sense of retribution: "You know why I’m laughing, May, I told you before, don’t think you’re so special. If it weren’t for the Jade Pendant, my brother wouldn’t have married you."

May, gritting her teeth, glared at Maxwell and sarcastically replied, "Yeah, if your brother hadn’t insisted on marrying me, when would Adam ever have his turn?"

"You!" In terms of verbal battles, Maxwell really wasn’t as formidable as May. After one round, Maxwell was at a loss for words.

She reluctantly pointed at May, standing there shouting, "Let me tell you, May, my brother is tired of you now; otherwise, he wouldn’t be fooling around with other women. If you know what’s good for you, stay quiet; otherwise..."

"Otherwise what? Do you want to hit me?" May directly stood in front of Maxwell, firmly clenching her fists, making the joints of her ten fingers crackle.

Maxwell had never seen such a fierce woman before, and was utterly terrified, stepping back repeatedly: "I—I’m warning you, I’m pregnant now, if you touch me, my brother won’t let you off."

"Is that so? I’m pregnant too; try touching me once and see if your brother will forgive you?" May deliberately took a few steps towards Maxwell, provokingly said.

Remembering the time she slapped him and hurt his face with a fiery pain, Maxwell quickly covered his stomach and started yelling loudly: "Help, help, May wants to kill me."

The servants nearby heard and quickly came to check the situation, seeing the sisters-in-law arguing and not knowing what to say, could only separate them from one another: "Miss Maxwell, madam has a bad temper, you should bear with it."
