Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Victor Grant’s Eccentric Mother

"Alright, I’ll turn on the projector."

The doctor dared not go against Victor Grant’s wishes, so he had to turn on the projector. However, the projector was directly in front of May Morgan, and to see it, she would have to lift the curtain.

But lifting the curtain would mean Victor would see her in just her underwear!

"Victor Grant, could you please step outside for a moment?" May was anxious and hurriedly tried to shoo Victor out.

"I’m not even looking at you. What’s there to see? You’re flat-chested anyway." Victor sulkily sat back in his chair, right in front of May, just below the projector. "Are you going to watch or not? If not, let’s just leave."

"You jerk..." May was so annoyed with Victor that she had no choice but to silently curse him as a huge jerk and a pervert while asking the doctor to help open the curtain.

The projector clearly showed the image of the tiny baby inside May’s belly. Although it was still a small bundle, curled up, his features and limbs were distinctly visible.

The foreign equipment was indeed advanced, allowing May to clearly see the baby’s limb development and facial features. Although the features weren’t very defined, you could see the nose, eyes, and mouth.

"Take a look; these are the baby’s limbs and facial features. As of now, there doesn’t seem to be any major issues. The development looks pretty good," the doctor pointed with the mouse at the image on the screen to indicate to May.

May took another careful look, ensuring the baby had no tail or horns. Alright, she was overthinking. Although she had been cursed, the baby hadn’t turned into a dragon person.

"I understand now, thank you!" Seeing that the baby was fine, May finally felt relieved and took a long breath before starting to put her pants back on.

Suddenly, she turned back to see Victor was no longer sitting in the chair. He had moved to the window and was staring blankly outside.

This guy, it seems he’s not as perverted as he seems.

A little moved, May quickly put on her pants, sat up from the bed, and called out to Victor: "I’m ready, shall we go?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

The doctor in charge of the prenatal check had already printed out the report and was about to hand it to May, but Victor snatched it away and threw it into the trash can: "We don’t need the report. Remember, don’t tell my parents about today, okay?"

"Ye-yes..." The doctor nervously glanced at Victor and quickly lowered his head.

In a hurry to leave, Victor didn’t pay much attention to the doctor’s expression. He grabbed May by the wrist, opened the door, and was stunned by what he saw.

At least ten men in bodyguard uniforms were standing firmly at the door of the prenatal check-up room. Upon seeing Victor, they shouted in unison, "Young Master, you’re back?"

May was also stunned by the situation. What was going on? Were these people here for Victor?

Seeing these bodyguards made Victor’s mind explode: "Director Lawson, get your ass out here!"

Director Lawson, knowing Victor’s temper, had long since made himself scarce, nowhere to be found.

"Victor Grant, are these people here for you?" May asked in a low voice, pointing at the bodyguards who crowded the hallway.

Victor didn’t want to explain too much to May, so he pushed aside the bodyguard in front of him and was about to leave with May.

"Victor, you rarely come around. How could you leave without visiting home?" At that moment, a fifty-year-old woman emerged from behind the bodyguards, looking at Victor with apparent resentment.

May glanced up and down at the woman. She was well-maintained, with fair and fine skin, dressed impeccably, exuding elegance and nobility in her every move.

May guessed that this woman might be Victor’s mother; otherwise, she wouldn’t speak to him in such a manner. However, Victor seemed very impatient with her. As she reached out to hold his hand, he shook her off.

"Mom, I have things to do in Silverwood City, so I’m leaving first." Victor didn’t even look at his mom and was about to take May and slip away.

Seeing this, Victor’s mom hurriedly grabbed May’s hand, inspecting her as if she were a mother-in-law selecting a daughter-in-law, making May feel very uncomfortable.

"Young lady, are you Victor’s girlfriend?" The woman’s soft, boneless fingers held May’s wrist firmly, making it difficult for May to break free.

Embarrassed, May smiled at the woman and tried to explain, "Auntie, I’m not, I..."

"Our Victor isn’t much, is he? You must have put up with a lot to be with him."

Before May could finish explaining, the woman assumed her relationship with Victor and looked at May’s face with relief, sighing, "Ah, the heavens have blessed us. I just made a wish in front of Buddha for my son to settle down and have children soon, and here you are."

May, with sweat trickling down her forehead, looked at the woman praying with folded hands, speechless, and tried to explain, "Auntie, I’m not your son’s girlfriend."

"That’s right, Mom. Stop talking nonsense. May and I are just friends; it’s not as complicated as you think." Victor was also afraid the misunderstanding would escalate, so he hurriedly explained to his mom.

Victor’s mother, Heather Holt, gave Victor a reproachful glare and reprimanded him softly: ’You good-for-nothing. We’re fine with you playing around, but the girl is pregnant. What, you still want to be a bastard? Let me tell you, I won’t let this happen again. This girl looks lovely, and you’d be lucky to have her as your wife.’

Heather Holt pretended to scold her scoundrel son a bit while gently holding May’s hand, tenderly caressing it, ’Where are you from, child? What do your parents do?’

Seeing that the misunderstanding was about to happen, May hurriedly explained to Heather with a horrified look, "Auntie, I’m really not your son’s girlfriend. I just wanted to use your equipment to check on the baby’s development."

"It’s okay. Everyone feels a bit shy at first; you’ll get used to it over time. Let me tell you, I’m a fantastic mother-in-law. We have plenty of money in our family, and Victor is our only failure; he’s grown so much and still not married. His father and I have long said that as long as Victor likes you, no matter your background, as long as you have a good heart, we’re okay with it. So rest assured, Auntie has your back. I’ll guarantee this marriage for you!"
