Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 113: The Young Master Truly Loves You
"I know, you don’t need to say anything." Before Jacob Jennings could finish speaking, Vincent Vance also felt a bit upset and gestured to him to stop, his voice somewhat hoarse as he said: "Your subordinates are also my subordinates, I never hoped for anyone to die. But this matter is not as simple as it appears on the surface. Just wait and see, the real drama is yet to come."
Yesterday, Logan Vance casually mentioned that the old man was sick, but Vincent Vance remembered it well. Before coming, he had already instructed someone to kidnap the old man’s private doctor, then found out that the old man indeed had cancer and was already in the mid-late stages. He looked like nothing was wrong, but that was all a disguise. If not for the good medication, he wouldn’t have much time left to live, and even with it, Arthur Vance has less than a year left.
When Vincent learned that his grandfather’s health was beyond recovery, he suddenly understood all the unusual behavior of the old man recently, and finally understood why he would go to such lengths to get May Morgan.
All that talk about curing his son’s illness was nonsense; he actually wanted to cure himself. With little time left, he became so manic and twisted.
When May Morgan finished her shower and came out, she happened to see Jacob Jennings sitting in the room. Upon seeing Jacob, May immediately spoke to Vincent: "I’m not going back, don’t even think about forcing me. If you insist, I’ll go find Logan Vance."
While the two were at a standoff, suddenly came the voice of a servant from outside the bedroom: "Eldest Master Vance, the master wants you to go over there for a moment."
Hearing this, Vincent first glanced at Jacob Jennings before slowly responding: "Got it, I’ll head over shortly."
After the servant left, Vincent stood up from his chair, then instructed Jacob Jennings: "Watch the madam, don’t let her leave recklessly."
"What gives you the right to restrain me?" May Morgan was somewhat anxious and hurriedly stood up, shouting at Vincent.
Vincent frowned and glared at her, his voice suddenly becoming stern: "I’m giving you two choices, either stay here and wait for my return, or go back with Jacob now."
May glared at him resentfully and ultimately decided: "Fine, I’ll choose to stay in the bedroom."
"Make sure she doesn’t go out, and don’t let her eat anything carelessly!" Vincent turned to look at Jacob Jennings, gave some instructions, and then opened the door and left.
Once he left, May Morgan immediately tried to persuade Jacob Jennings, but just as her smiling face approached him, Jacob sternly rejected her: "Stop, madam, there’s no way I’ll let you go out."
"I didn’t want to go out; I’m just hungry, can’t I eat something?" May cunningly argued a few words, then purposefully ordered Jacob: "Could you get me something to eat? I’m so hungry!"
After speaking, she intentionally touched her belly and pretended to look starving, complaining to Jacob: "Being pregnant is just being hungry all the time. They say it’s like having two mouths waiting to eat, what if I starve the baby?"
Jacob unwittingly twitched the corners of his mouth, thinking, you just had lunch, how can you be hungry already? Keep pretending, I still won’t let you have an opportunity to go out.
He turned and picked up an internal phone, dialing: "Bring some snacks to the Madam, she’s hungry."
After agreeing on the phone, someone soon knocked at the door delivering snacks, this time Butler Lewis personally brought them over and took the bowl back from the table.
Jacob noticed that while collecting the bowl, the butler deliberately inspected the edges, probably checking if the medicine had truly been consumed or poured away.
Once Butler Lawson closed the door and left, May Morgan angrily picked up the small snacks on the table, intending to stuff her mouth. At this moment, Jacob suddenly spoke coldly: "If I were you, I’d starve rather than eat anything from the Vance Residence."
May froze, and the food just touching her lips frightened her so much, she didn’t dare chew.
Jacob seriously stared at May’s face, intentionally questioning her: "Didn’t you hear what the Eldest Master said earlier?"
Before Vincent went out, he instructed Jacob not to let May eat indiscriminately, and of course, May heard this. However, she didn’t take it seriously, thinking Vincent was just trying to annoy her, deliberately giving her a hard time.
"He did say that, but can his words be trusted? He’s just trying to anger me."
May dismissively waved her hand and eagerly started gobbling the snacks.
"You’re not afraid the old man drugged the food?" Seeing May about to eat, Jacob’s eyes darkened, quickly stopping her: "If you eat something dirty, that’s one thing, but what if you harm the baby inside you?"
Hearing this, May suddenly became scared, widened her eyes, and hastily spat out everything from her mouth.
"Ugh, why didn’t you tell me earlier?" May angrily glared at Jacob, hurriedly pushing aside the food beside her without looking at it, to avoid temptation.
Jacob watched her funny actions, dryly chuckling, explaining: "I wanted to say sooner, but you picked up the food so quickly."
May’s face felt a bit embarrassed after being teased, she glared at him saying sarcastically: "Neither you nor Vincent are good people."
Jacob thought it necessary to speak about their Eldest Master’s true feelings, otherwise Vincent’s deep affection would go unnoticed.
"Madam, that’s not fair. You should know, our Eldest Master is now known as a protective husband. Who in this city doesn’t know Vincent Vance is a wife’s fool? He’d rather abandon his grandfather, abandon the company, just to protect his wife. If he’s so devoted to you, how could you say such hurtful things?"
"Really? I haven’t seen it..."
Jacob’s heartfelt words fell flat on May, like stones landing on cotton, having no effect at all. Despite all the praises Jacob sang, May listened indifferently.
Earlier Logan Vance told her that Vincent had long known about Melanie Morgan being at the Vance Residence, but delayed taking action, allowing the culprit to remain free. The grandmother had been dead for almost a month, yet the case remains unresolved, and still, Melanie lives carefree. But look at Vincent; he doesn’t seem in a rush at all.
Actually, May understood why Vincent wasn’t anxious, why he dragged things out; she was just reluctant to confront it most of the time.
Jacob deeply glanced at May, unable to resist advising her further: "Madam, the Eldest Master really cares for you. There are many things it’s inconvenient for me to say now, but I hope you understand that regardless of what he does, his starting point is always to protect you."
"Forget it, I’m tired, I don’t want to discuss this issue anymore."
