Chapter 531: Chapter 531: The Siege

Looking out, what should have been a seabed brimming with coral, seaweed, and various glowing creatures, was now only an endless expanse of dark purple biological substrate, like some living, ugly carpet covering everything.

On this substrate, countless pulsating Insect Race hatching chambers and Spore Cannon Towers stood, along with various grotesque Insect Race bioarchitecture, resembling a twisted forest.

At the horizon, the earth suddenly collapsed, forming a gigantic chasm unimaginably large, as if leading directly to Hell.

This was the ultimate target of this mission, the location of the Level 3 Nest.

Even separated by such a distance, one could still sense the palpable pressure emanating from the void Insect Race within the depths of the chasm, and a low, chaotic psychic noise, as if composed of the wails of billions, constantly bombarding everyone’s consciousness.

At the edge of the chasm, countless thick, vein-like energy conduits writhed and stretched in all directions, connecting to those secondary nests on the periphery, forming a vast and evil life network.

What made the scalp tingle even more was in the skies above this region completely transformed by the Insect Race, a dense swarm of Insect Race patrols were shuttling back and forth like storm clouds.

The lurking sting shark group was like a ghost fleet, while split fin hunters shimmered with the cold light of their blades among the reefs, and giant plasma jellyfish floated slowly like death fortresses...

This was the nest the Insect Race had established in this marine area, a nest cluster that had developed in a short time.

The prelude to war was slowly unfolding at the edge of this extreme dark and oppressive Hell of the deep sea.

Duke and over a dozen other Wizards arrived at the west side of the nest cluster according to the set plan, keeping a sufficient distance to avoid alarming the enemy.

Simon was naturally there with him, worried as he looked at the scene in front of him.

This was his first participation in such a large-scale task, yet he had not been to the Plane Battlefield, witnessing for the first time the spectacle of such a massive Slave Creature Legion on the move.

All units silently entered their designated attack positions, like hunters lurking in the dark, with only the faint sound of water flowing.

Duke and the other Wizards floated behind the west side of the nest cluster, peering through the dim waters at the twisted area covered by the Insect Race fungus mat in the distance.

As this oppressive silence reached its peak, Duke’s Black Sail Badge stirred, and a clear, cold command came through: "Attack all lines, commence."

The command issued, the war machine rumbled to life.

"Attack." Duke instantly relayed the command through the Control Talisman to his fifty thousand slave creatures.

In an instant, it was as if a thunderbolt had been cast into the otherwise calm deep sea.

"Roar——!"

"Buzz——!"

The Slave Creature Legion no longer hid, their frenzied aura surging into the sky.

Over ten thousand giant clawed creatures clad in heavy bone armor, resembling moving fortresses, formed an unstoppable steel wall, bravely launching a frontal assault on the outer fungal mat of the Insect Race.

The heavy footsteps trampled upon the fungal mat, emitting constant squelching sounds.

The response of the Insect Race was likewise swift to an extreme, almost instantly upon the slave creatures revealing hostility, the dark purple fungal mat seemed alive, countless lurking sting sharks like purple arrows unleashed from the fungal mat holes and twisted reef shadows, dashing against the line of Iron Clam Guards, the muffled impact and cracking of shells sounded like popcorn.

Simultaneously, those Spore Cannon Towers, like disgusting tumors on the fungal mat, contracted sharply before spewing forth a dense rain of acidic spores and bone spurs, these attacks tore through the seawater with a piercing wail, covering the entire forward area of the Slave Creature Legion, turning the seawater a murky green and stark white.

To the rear of the army, thousands of bizarre, semi-transparent, unstable-energy-glowing phantom water cannons fired simultaneously.

Their umbrella-shaped bodies contracted violently, and the next moment, countless concentrated high-pressure energy Water Arrows fired like blue tempests, accurately targeting those Spore Cannon Towers and dense purple Shadows.

The Water Arrows sliced through the seawater with a whooshing sound, continuously exploding towers into blobs of viscous liquid, while some purple Shadows pierced by the Water Arrows struggled as they sank into the seabed.

There were also thousands of Shadow Scale Hunters, covered in dark scales, shaped like leopards, their limbs evolved with webbed structures, moving like real Shadows, utilizing the chaos created by the giant clawed creatures and the turbid zones, silently maneuvering to the flanks.

Their speed was incredibly fast, pouncing like ghosts toward the Insect Race bioarchitecture, their sharp claws and fangs shimmering with cold light, frenziedly tearing at fragile flesh walls, attempting to dismantle them from within.

However, the defense system of the Insect Race was also very tight.

From the depths of the fungal mat, several enormous, azure electric-light flickering umbrella-shaped discharge entities slowly rose, their long tentacles dancing like deadly ribbons.

One of them suddenly contracted its umbrella-shaped body, and an unstable, terror-broadcasting energy fluctuation plasma ball was ejected, tracing a dazzling trajectory, directly toward the densest area of the Shadow Scale Hunters.

"Boom!!!"

The plasma ball exploded, not with a blast, but a deep energy thud.

Instantaneously, at the center of the explosion point, a large spherical electric field jumping with countless deadly arcs suddenly formed.

The seawater was instantly electrolyzed, producing a pungent smell and mass bubbles.

Hundreds of Shadow Scale Hunters at the core of the electric field didn’t even have time to cry before turning to charred remains in the glaring electric light.

Even the hunters at the edges were hit by arcs, twitching and losing their fighting ability.

This was the plasma jellyfish, a Level 2 combat unit of the Insect Race, possessing high-intensity, wide-ranging strike capability.

In fact, there was no Level 2 Nest in this area, even the closest Level 2 Nest was up ahead.

Normally, attacking a Level 1 Nest wouldn’t encounter such things, but this was a nest cluster, these nests had mutual collaboration capabilities.

A few plasma jellyfish emerged, instantly posing a huge threat to the Slave Creature Legion, stalling their advance momentum.

Seeing this, Duke naturally wouldn’t allow it, for if this continued, if the plasma jellyfish launched a few more rounds of bombardment, ordinary slave creatures would surely be wiped out.

With a thought, a command was conveyed through the Control Talisman.

In an instant, the originally relatively calm and dark depths behind him sprang forth a terrifying aura that made souls shiver. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The seawater seemed to become viscous and icy, even the distant Insect Race screeches appeared to pause for a moment.
