Chapter 34: Yan Feng Vs Miao Tianhe

In the span of a single breath, Miao Tianhe and Yan Feng collided at the center of the platform. A thunderous shockwave rippled outward.

Immediately the two clashed, and within mere moments they had already exchanged nearly a hundred blows. Their movements were so fast that many of the weaker disciples could barely follow them with their eyes.

Sparks flew everywhere.

Every collision of sword and claw created bursts of spiritual light that scattered across the reinforced arena floor like falling stars.

Both of them were already fighting with their full power.

Tianhe had already entered his half-dragon transformation. Dark crimson scales covered his arms and shoulders while faint draconic energy swirled around his body. His claws gleamed like blades forged from tempered steel as he attacked with relentless ferocity.

Opposite him, Yan Feng stood calm yet terrifying.

The Heaven-level circulation art within his body was operating at full capacity. Streams of spiritual energy surged through his meridians like raging rivers, flowing into the long sword in his hand.

Every swing of that blade carried immense power. Each strike split the air with a sharp whistle as waves of sword energy shot outward.

Lin Xiaotian narrowed his eyes slightly as he watched the battle from the Sect Master’s platform. Both of them are very strong.

He spoke calmly while observing every movement with precise attention. "Neither of them lacks talent or foundation," he said slowly. "However, Yan Feng still lacks a bit of combat experience."

His gaze shifted toward Tianhe. "Beasts who awaken their ancestral memories inherit countless battle instincts. Tianhe has learned many combat techniques directly from those memories."

"And compared to Yan Feng, he also possesses more spiritual energy."

Just as Lin Xiaotian finished speaking, a quiet chuckle sounded from behind him. "You are underestimating Yan Feng, Sect Master."

Lin Xiaotian turned slightly.

Elder Han Leu stood there with his arms folded and a faint amused smile on his face. "Oh?"

Lin Xiaotian raised an eyebrow. "Really?"

Han Leu nodded slowly. "Indeed."

"Even though I cannot reveal too much, there is one thing I can say with certainty."

His eyes moved toward the arena where Yan Feng’s sword flashed again. "Yan Feng does not have an ordinary background."

Hearing this, Lin Xiaotian’s expression grew thoughtful. Curiosity flickered within his eyes. "What do you mean by that?"

Han Leu simply shook his head helplessly. "I am afraid I cannot say more than this, Sect Master."

"It concerns matters that are not mine to reveal."

Lin Xiaotian sighed lightly but did not press further. Just then a loud explosion erupted from the arena.

Both of them instantly turned their attention back to the battlefield.

BOOM!

The two fighters separated violently after another massive collision Lin Xiaotian’s eyes focused sharply.

One of Tianhe’s arms had shattered fragments of broken scales and flesh scattered across the arena floor.

Yet before anyone could react, the torn limb began regenerating almost instantly. Muscles twisted and reformed while fresh scales grew back rapidly.

Within seconds the arm was already recovering.

Lin Xiaotian chuckled softly. "Tianhe is making full use of his advantage."

"He knows he possesses greater reserves of spiritual energy."

"He is deliberately forcing Yan Feng into a prolonged battle."

"If this continues, Yan Feng will slowly exhaust himself."

Meanwhile the battle continued without pause sword and claw collided again and again.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

The sounds of metal striking metal echoed throughout the arena as their attacks grew even faster. Minutes passed then more.

Nearly a thousand exchanges occurred as neither side showed any sign of retreat. To many spectators the battle already seemed impossible to follow.

Even the Golden Core arena trembled faintly under the violent impacts from a distance the fight appeared almost perfectly balanced.

A stalemate but then something suddenly changed Yan Feng abruptly retreated several steps.

At the same time, he withdrew all the floating swords that had been circling around him.

The spiritual swords disappeared one by one until only a single blade remained in his hand. For a moment the arena grew strangely quiet.

Then Yan Feng slowly raised that single sword and his aura changed completely. The air around him became sharp... deep... and terrifyingly focused.

A faint glow began to appear along the blade Seeing this, Han Leu’s eyes widened in shock. "Is that...?"

His voice trembled slightly. "Sword Aura?"

Lin Xiaotian chuckled softly. "It indeed is."

At that moment Tianhe also noticed the change. He frowned slightly and sighed under his breath Sword Aura.

Even many Golden core cultivators failed to comprehend such a level of sword intent. Yet Yan Feng had already grasped the beginning of it.

The glowing blade in his hand radiated a terrifying cutting power.

Many disciples watching from the stands instantly felt chills run down their backs. To them it seemed as if the sword could split the entire arena in half.

Most spectators immediately assumed the battle was over. Against Sword Aura, Tianhe should have no chance.

But suddenly something changed around Tianhe. The raging spiritual energy surrounding him disappeared.

The atmosphere grew calm for a brief moment it felt as if the entire world had become silent.

Even the air itself seemed to stop moving. Then a strange momentum gathered around Tianhe’s body it was subtle... yet incredibly profound.

It felt as though Heaven and Earth themselves were beginning to follow his movement. Lin Xiaotian’s pupils instantly shrank.

At that exact moment both Tianhe and Yan Feng vanished from their positions. They disappeared completely.

Only a faint distortion Afterimage remained where they had stood. The next instant

BOOM!!!

A terrifying explosion erupted in the center of the arena dust and debris blasted outward in all directions.

Lin Xiaotian’s eyes narrowed sharply the moment the collision occurred, he already knew the result. "Tianhe... won."

Gradually the dust began to settle the scene within the arena slowly became visible again.

Yan Feng was lying on the ground. His sword had fallen from his hand and was embedded deep within the cracked arena floor.

A few meters away, Tianhe stood upright. However, his body was clearly injured.

One of his arms hung loosely at his side, completely broken and dangling as it slowly regenerated. Despite that, he was still standing.

The entire arena exploded into cheers. The disciples roared with excitement after witnessing such an incredible battle.

Lin Xiaotian glanced toward Elder Han Leu and spoke calmly. "It seems the fight was a little unfair after all."

But Han Leu frowned. "No, Sect Master."

His expression had turned unusually serious. "I Know that Tianhe folded space at the final moment and had martial techniques."

Han Leu Shaked his head slowly. "For someone so weak to even touch the concept of space manipulation is already incredible."

"Even though it was only a tiny distortion..."

His brows furrowed. "What confuses me is something else."

"Why didn’t Yan Feng use it?"

Lin Xiaotian looked puzzled. "Use what?"

Han Leu sighed softly. "I apologize, Sect Master."

"That matter involves Yan Feng’s personal secrets. If you wish to know the answer... you should ask him yourself."

Lin Xiaotian shook his head lightly. "I will deal with that later."

"For now... let us finish the tournament."

Both Tianhe and Yan Feng slowly descended from the arena platform.

Lin Xiaotian stepped forward and looked across the countless disciples gathered before him. His voice echoed clearly throughout the entire arena.

"I will not speak grand words today."

"All of you have done well."

He paused briefly before his tone sharpened.

"But if you truly wish to become dragons..."

"Not merely another group of average geniuses..."

"Then you must strive harder."

His gaze swept across every disciple the pressure within his voice became heavier.

"Next time you step into the arena..."

"Fight as if your life depends on it."

"Fight until death if necessary."

"Only those who dare to risk everything can stand at the peak of the cultivation world."

Lin Xiaotian’s gaze slowly moved across the arena before finally settling on Miao Tianhe. The entire crowd gradually quieted.

Everyone knew the moment of announcement had arrived.

Tianhe straightened slightly despite the injuries still healing across his body. His broken arm had already begun regenerating properly, but the exhaustion in his expression was obvious.

Lin Xiaotian looked at him calmly. "Since you are the winner of this tournament..."

He paused briefly. "You will now take the position of Head Disciple of the Celestial Origin Supreme Sect."

A wave of murmurs instantly spread through the crowd even Tianhe himself looked momentarily stunned.

The position of Head Disciple carried enormous responsibility within a sect. It was not simply a title it represented authority among the younger generation and the expectation of strength.

Before Tianhe could even process the announcement, Lin Xiaotian continued speaking.

"You will be responsible for maintaining discipline among the disciples."

"You will oversee the daily activities of the sect’s members."

"And you will ensure that everyone trains properly."

Tianhe swallowed slightly. Just as he was about to nod in acceptance, Lin Xiaotian casually added another sentence. "Of course, you will not be working alone."

His eyes shifted toward the second figure standing nearby. "Ciao Xiaoshan." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Xiaoshan immediately straightened. "You will assist Tianhe in these duties."

The two disciples looked at each other briefly.

For a moment both of them felt that something about this arrangement sounded... suspicious.

Lin Xiaotian folded his hands behind his back as he continued speaking in a calm tone. "Since you two displayed such remarkable power during the tournament..."

"Your responsibilities will naturally be greater."

His voice remained perfectly relaxed. "You will also oversee the cleaning and reconstruction of the sect grounds."

"And you will personally help guide the new menial disciples in their work."

Silence filled the arena the two disciples slowly turned their heads toward the battlefield behind them.

The completely destroyed battlefield cracked stones and collapsed structures. Entire sections reduced to rubble.

At that moment the meaning behind Lin Xiaotian’s words became terrifyingly clear. Their faces instantly turned pale.

Lin Xiaotian continued calmly as if nothing unusual had been said. "If either of you encounters any difficulties..."

"You may come to me for assistance."

His voice carried a soft tone that sounded almost gentle. Yet to Tianhe and Xiaoshan it felt like the whisper of a devil.

Both of them felt a chill run down their spines inside their hearts the two nearly cried.

If we go to the Sect Master for help...He might sell us just to repair the arena.

The two disciples silently lowered their heads. There was absolutely no chance they would ask Lin Xiaotian for help.

Meanwhile the other disciples watching from the stands struggled desperately not to laugh. Some of them had already begun quietly congratulating Tianhe on his "promotion."

Lin Xiaotian ignored the subtle reactions and turned his attention toward the entire assembly.

His gaze swept across the thousands of disciples gathered within the sect grounds. "Now then."

"There is another matter I must announce."

The disciples immediately quieted again Lin Xiaotian continued.

"Two months from now...The sect will venture once again into the Beast Forest."

Excitement instantly appeared in many of the disciples’ eyes. The previous expedition had been a massive turning point for many of them.

Countless disciples had gained valuable combat experience and resources during that mission.

Lin Xiaotian nodded slightly. "I believe that by that time..."

"All of you will have grown considerably stronger."

His tone remained calm but confident. The atmosphere within the arena slowly became charged with determination.

The disciples understood exactly what he meant the next expedition would be far more dangerous.

Which also meant it would bring far greater opportunities. "If any of you encounter problems during your training," Lin Xiaotian continued, "you may seek guidance from Elder Han."

He glanced briefly toward the elder. "You may also consult your senior brothers and sisters."

"The sect exists so that its members may grow stronger together."

Elder Han Leu coughed lightly before stepping forward. "And as for the rewards from this tournament..."

He lifted several storage rings into the air. "I will begin distributing them shortly."

Instant excitement swept through the crowd.

Many disciples had nearly forgotten about the tournament rewards after witnessing the intense battles.

Seeing the treasures again instantly reignited their enthusiasm.

Lin Xiaotian gave a small nod. "Very well."

"That concludes today’s tournament."

Before anyone could react further, he suddenly waved his hand in the next instant two figures vanished from the arena.

Yan Feng.

Li Qingyun.

Both of them disappeared as if they had never been there at all. The surrounding disciples gasped softly.

Lin Xiaotian himself also vanished immediately afterward.

In the blink of an eye, the three of them had already reappeared inside the Sect Master’s residence.
