When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 945: Poor Dustin Shepherd
And Ivy Jennings quickly snapped back to reality, being able to see him, to gaze at him so closely, to feel his heartbeat and breath—she was truly delighted!
"President Lancaster, please have a seat." After speaking with a smile in her eyes, she turned and walked toward the seat she had just occupied.
Adrian Lancaster and Dustin Shepherd looked at the round table, which was full of delicious dishes; it seemed that there would be no other guests today.
Adrian Lancaster remained silent for a few seconds and then stepped toward a dining chair, followed by Dustin.
The two waitresses who had been waiting in the corner stepped forward, pouring wine, handing out napkins, and attentively serving everyone.
The private room was quiet, with a faint aroma of food wafting in the air.
After Adrian Lancaster sat down, Dustin Shepherd also took a seat beside him. However, it was destined that today’s meal would be somewhat unusual.
"President Lancaster, it’s already lunchtime. Why don’t we start eating first?" Ivy Jennings said softly, her red lips gently parting.
She considerately handed him a pair of chopsticks, "We can chat while we eat. President Sawyer has been a bit busy lately, so I apologize that I have to come in his place."
Dustin, sitting next to Adrian Lancaster, was completely ignored. He raised an eyebrow—perhaps he should just bury himself in the meal?
Adrian Lancaster took the chopsticks handed to him by Ivy Jennings and casually passed them to Dustin Shepherd.
Then he picked another pair himself, his thin lips lightly parting, "The contract has been drafted on our side." His deep gaze fell on the document in front of her, which had the word "Contract" written on it, and he asked, "So what is that of yours?"
"The contract I drafted might be more suitable; you can take a look at it later." Ivy Jennings maintained a smile throughout.
"If you feel it’s not right, you can use yours instead. These are small matters. Here, try this meatball; it’s the specialty of this restaurant, the best meatball in all of Argent."
Before she finished speaking, she picked up a meatball and placed it into Adrian Lancaster’s bowl.
The rich aroma of the sauce was tempting, but he had no desire to eat it, and the coldness on his face deepened.
Sitting beside him, Dustin Shepherd coughed lightly and gently reminded, "Ivy, President Lancaster doesn’t have a habit of letting others serve food to him." Then he chuckled and swapped the clean bowl in front of him with Adrian Lancaster’s bowl containing the meatball.
This action left Ivy Jennings staring at Dustin Shepherd for a moment, feeling quite awkward, but she still kept a smile on her face.
After that, she didn’t serve Adrian Lancaster any more food.
To ease the awkward atmosphere, the waitresses began introducing the dishes one by one—
"This lily shrimp roll is also one of our specialties. The shrimp roll is handmade by us and not store-bought."
Just as they started introducing a couple of dishes, Adrian Lancaster said, "No need for an introduction; you can go." Didn’t he know how to appreciate food? He had been indulging in gourmet food since childhood.
The two waitresses looked at Ivy Jennings, feeling a bit uncertain.
Ivy Jennings gently parted her lips, "Since President Lancaster doesn’t need any service, you may leave and attend to your duties."
"Yes." The waitresses turned and left.
During the meal, Adrian Lancaster had no interaction with Ivy Jennings and didn’t even properly look at her.
He dined with such elegance; every gesture exuded boundless charm, making no noise, and his lips were particularly tidy.
Dustin Shepherd, on the other hand, was focused on eating. As a former work partner, he probably understood Ivy Jennings’ intentions today.
If she couldn’t join Prestige Group, was she trying to accompany him in another way?
After Faye Turner left, did she want to take her place?
It’s important to know that signing a contract is just the beginning of a project, and there will be plenty of opportunities for meetings and communication in the future. It’s hard not to meet.
But Dustin Shepherd knew that he would be fully responsible for this project in the future; President Lancaster would no longer be involved. Oh, how unfortunate!
