When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 826: Someone Is Stirring Up Trouble on Purpose
"By the way, did you deliver the report?" Because it was important, Ben Fletcher had it on his mind. On the way to the cafeteria, he couldn’t help but ask to confirm.
"It was done by ten o’clock and already sent."
Ben gave her a thumbs-up, "Rachel, you really work efficiently. Supervisor Peterson probably really likes your working style."
After lunch, on the way back to the President’s office, the elevator went up to the tenth floor, and when the door opened, Supervisor Peterson appeared outside.
"Assistant Fletcher." He held the elevator door open and urgently asked, "I was just looking for you. Where’s the report? Isn’t it done yet?" It was almost one o’clock, and the client was already on the way.
"Are you Supervisor Peterson?" Rachel had never met him, but she guessed, as it was this floor, and there were no other report tasks today.
"I am."
Ben turned to look at Rachel, who met his gaze, "Is it the report you asked me to verify?" She was a bit apprehensive, seeming to realize the answer.
"Yes." Ben nodded, "Didn’t you say you already gave it to Supervisor Peterson? At ten in the morning."
Rachel smiled and looked at the man outside the elevator, "Hello, Supervisor Peterson. I placed it on your assistant’s desk outside your office at ten o’clock this morning, in the box meant for documents."
"I didn’t receive it. There’s no report in the documents." The man replied a bit urgently, "Are you sure you didn’t put it in the wrong place?"
Rachel was puzzled, are there several boxes?
Knowing this was important, she stepped forward, and Ben quickly followed to get to the bottom of it.
Supervisor Peterson walked beside them toward his office area.
When Rachel reached the spot again, the document box was empty.
She looked toward the direction of the supervisor’s office, then back at the empty box, pointing, "I put it right here. It was those two girls who told me to put it here."
Just then, the two female employees walked over, wearing high heels, arms linked, with badges on their necks, chatting and laughing as they approached.
From five meters away, they saw Supervisor Peterson, Rachel, and Assistant Fletcher in front of the desk.
They paused slightly, exchanged glances, then continued forward, "Hello, Supervisor Peterson. Hello, Assistant Fletcher."
"Hello." Rachel, a bit anxious, smiled as she spoke to them, "Did you not deliver the report I left here this morning to Supervisor Peterson?"
"This morning?" One of the girls frowned in confusion, turning to the other, "Did she come this morning? I don’t remember."
"Secretary Sherman, we didn’t see you this morning." The other girl spoke up, "Did you remember the wrong place? What report? No idea."
Rachel’s smile froze slightly; this was strange! She suddenly saw something in the eyes of the two girls.
Were they deliberately messing with her?
But they both spoke in unison, looking innocent.
Ben also looked at the two girls and then at Rachel but said nothing.
"The most important thing now is to find the report." Supervisor Peterson didn’t want to lay blame, "Regardless of whether you placed it or not, I need it right away because the client is already on the way."
Rachel turned, smiling, "Don’t worry, I’ll send one down right away. I have scanned it and made an electronic copy, I’ll print it right away, just three minutes." With that, she turned and ran toward the elevator.
Ben let out a sigh of relief, "Supervisor, please wait a moment, I’ll personally deliver it to you soon!" After saying that, he followed after Rachel.
Leaving the two female employees staring blankly, she actually scanned it???
