When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 647: Persuading Him to Surrender
Black Hawk told him, "After that, you know the rest... I contacted Dr. Wyatt Lane and offered him a reward, hoping he would cooperate, but the result was..."
The result was that Wyatt’s conscience wasn’t entirely dead, so he chose to immigrate overnight. He couldn’t afford to confront, but he could definitely avoid.
Adrian Lancaster forced himself to suppress the heartache, not interrupting, and continued to listen.
Black Hawk took a deep breath and then sighed heavily—
"Later, I never found a suitable opportunity. I heard Mr. Lancaster was most likely turned into a vegetative state in the crash, and because Elias Young was worried it might implicate him, he didn’t take the risk either."
So... Black Hawk wasn’t aware of his father’s disappearance.
It should also have nothing to do with Elias Young.
Perhaps even now, Black Hawk still thought that the man who had long been sitting in a wheelchair needing care was Caleb Lancaster?
The trail to find his father was broken just like that, a real pity.
Where on earth was his father? His heart was constantly tied to this question.
At this moment, the only hope might rest on Claire Keller.
Except that this woman seemed to have vanished without a trace, and though he had people looking into it, there had been no recent leads. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"President Lancaster."
Black Hawk looked up at him, determined, "You saved my life, just tell me what you need me to do!"
Adrian Lancaster focused, "..." without any immediate task for him.
"Should I kill Elias Young?" Black Hawk grit his teeth and asked, "I can handle it!" Half of it was for him, and the other half for himself.
Damn, he couldn’t just swallow this anger! He risked his life for him, and the result was they wanted his life!
Adrian Lancaster sensed the dangerous glint bursting from his cold eyes, and gently advised, "You should turn yourself in, it’s the responsible thing for you to do."
Turn himself in??
Black Hawk widened his eyes, as if hearing the most alien term!
That was something he had never considered, to turn himself in?
It was a concept that had never existed in his vocabulary!
Adrian Lancaster looked at him warmly, his tone still calm, "If you turn yourself in, it could reduce your sentence." It truly was for his benefit.
He even promised, "After you’re released, you can always come to me, whether you want to start a small business or retire somewhere, I can facilitate it for you."
From his eyes, Black Hawk saw sincerity—there was not a hint of joking.
Although no one wants to go to prison, even more so, no one wants to die!
Black Hawk calmly thought for a few seconds, knowing his sins were grave, with lives weighing on his conscience, even revealing Elias Young wouldn’t be enough to redeem them.
A few years’ prison sentence was unavoidable.
Adrian Lancaster didn’t push him; he simply withdrew his gaze and lifted a teacup, taking a light sip of black tea, "Think about it yourself."
Black Hawk looked at him, then outside the door, noticing that some people had arrived, but they didn’t enter, vaguely seeing they were in uniform.
Black Hawk knew that Adrian Lancaster was doing this for his benefit.
He just found it hard to accept for a moment.
Because Argent is not a lawless place.
And Adrian Lancaster isn’t some omnipotent emperor of ancient times; he has no way to protect someone laden with endless murders.
Thus, Black Hawk quickly came to terms with it. He didn’t ponder too long, closed his eyes, and nodded, "I’ll listen to you."
He was indeed overwhelmed by Adrian Lancaster’s magnanimity and composure.
Black Hawk’s attitude also made Adrian Lancaster feel gratified. He met his gaze and nodded, "Good."
Then he turned his attention toward the door, "Come in!"
The door to the living room was pushed open, and two police officers came in, "Good day, President Lancaster."
"Good day, Officer Shaw," Adrian Lancaster’s thin lips moved slightly.
Black Hawk stood up and proactively stretched out his hands to them, ready to be handcuffed and obediently follow them.
However, the two police officers gave him his final dignity and did not bring out the shiny handcuffs, instead, just held his arms from either side.
Adrian Lancaster looked at Black Hawk and spoke to him once more, "When you get out, come find me. Cooperate with the reform inside, strive for a reduced sentence, and I’ll keep track of your progress."
Black Hawk nodded, "Alright." He said nothing more, feeling as though everything was understood without words.
The police officers bid Adrian Lancaster farewell and took Black Hawk away directly.
