When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 639: Pleading Everywhere
So, Melanie Lancaster skipped dinner and headed to The Lockwood Old Manor overnight.
The car stopped in the courtyard, and she sat in the driver’s seat, looking at the brightly lit living room. Her fingers gripping the steering wheel were a bit tense.
She didn’t know how to face her father.
Even more uncertain about how to approach Eliza Hayes, their relationship... really was distant.
But for the sake of her son, she had to bite the bullet and get out of the car.
Luckily, when she walked into the living room, the old man wasn’t there, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hello, Miss Lancaster." The servants greeted her respectfully, just as usual.
Melanie Lancaster didn’t respond, and she walked straight toward the backyard. As she passed through the backyard and entered the shrine, she inadvertently glanced at the statues of the Buddhas, feeling a bit unnerved.
After all, she wasn’t exactly a good person.
Just stepping into the shrine and looking toward the stairs, Eliza Hayes and Nanny Warren appeared at the staircase corner.
Their eyes met, and time seemed to freeze for a few seconds.
Melanie Lancaster didn’t speak, and Eliza Hayes withdrew her gaze, stepping down the stairs slowly, her face cold and somber.
"Sister-in-law." Out of politeness, the person downstairs still took the initiative, "Brandon was taken away by the police. Can you help put in a good word to Adrian Lancaster?"
"I can’t." Eliza Hayes descended the stairs, directly refusing, and then there was no further explanation.
This made Melanie Lancaster unsure how to continue the conversation, "..." Awkward and embarrassed.
But for the sake of her son, she had to seek her help again, "Sister-in-law, Brandon hasn’t committed a grave mistake, isn’t Faye Turner and the child fine? There must be some misunderstanding."
"Go explain to Adrian Lancaster, don’t look for me." Eliza Hayes’ tone was flat, but her attitude was very clear, "I won’t get involved in this matter."
Seeing no help from further discussion, Melanie Lancaster had no choice but to turn around angrily.
Really not understanding how this mother-son relationship, once so terrible, suddenly improved like this?
Used to hate him to death, now so protective of Adrian Lancaster!
Melanie Lancaster didn’t go up to find her father because she didn’t want to get scolded. She directly got in the car and left.
Under the night sky, she drove alone, feeling very sad...
Thinking and thinking, the image of Faye Turner suddenly popped into her mind, like a sliver of hope in desperation.
That’s right!
Find Faye Turner!!
As long as Faye Turner is willing to help, Adrian Lancaster will definitely listen to his wife!
But so late... Melanie Lancaster didn’t think too much and drove straight to Adrian Lancaster’s villa.
Looking at the dazzling lights inside, she hesitated again, not having the courage to even get out of the car. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Finding Faye Turner can’t be known by Adrian Lancaster, otherwise, it’ll be for nothing.
So, Melanie Lancaster parked the car not far away, waiting there the whole night, just to see whether Faye Turner goes to the office.
Tomorrow is only the second day of the lunar month, Adrian Lancaster as such a big boss surely has things to deal with.
He’s very likely to go to the company.
And Faye Turner might not necessarily follow.
Finally enduring till dawn, Melanie Lancaster didn’t dare sleep any longer. Her eyes fixed on the movements in the courtyard, always watching that Lamborghini.
Until eight in the morning, she saw Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner kissing goodbye at the entrance of the living room. Watching her wave to him, he walked out of the living room and got into the Lamborghini in the courtyard.
The guess wasn’t wrong, Adrian Lancaster went to the company, while Faye Turner stayed home.
After the Lamborghini drove away, Melanie Lancaster sat in the driver’s seat and dialed Faye Turner’s number.
Soon, Faye answered, "Hello." It was an unfamiliar number.
"Faye, it’s your Auntie, I’m at your doorstep, could you let me come in?" Melanie Lancaster eagerly wanted to see her, her attitude was very amiable.
