Chapter 627: Chapter 627: Visiting Him on New Year’s Day

"President Lancaster is not someone you can meet just because you want to. Get in!" The man outside was very fierce, his eyes like sharp knives. God knows how many days he had been guarding, yet he remained full of energy.

The next second, he directly pushed Black Hawk inside and then shut the door.

Black Hawk was stunned. From the strength of the push, he could judge that the man was well-trained, with extraordinary inner strength.

Then he was puzzled. Weren’t they waiting for him to say this sentence?

Does Adrian Lancaster not want to see him? He had so many questions before.

After a while, he limped over to open the door again, keeping his body far from it. "Can I get a pack of cigarettes?"

The two men at the door replied with sharp, cold stares!

After waiting a long time with no answer, Black Hawk didn’t press the issue. He retreated back into the room and closed the door.

Alone, bored out of his mind, he lay on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. These days of confinement felt like years, and he had no idea how things were going on Mr. Young’s side...

Black Hawk felt guilty about his failure.

New Year’s Day morning, 8 a.m.

A Lamborghini stopped in the villa’s courtyard. Adrian Lancaster got out from the driver’s seat, slammed the car door, and walked inside while adjusting his collar.

"Happy New Year, President Lancaster."

"Good day, President Lancaster."

Someone came to greet him, bowed respectfully, and followed at his side.

"How is he lately?" Adrian Lancaster asked. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

His subordinate reported on Black Hawk’s situation, "He opened the door last night asking to see you."

Adrian Lancaster said nothing, stepping inside, finally reaching a breaking point—this was psychological tactics.

Another subordinate reported, "He also asked for a pack of cigarettes."

"Did you give him any?"

"No, we didn’t."

"Good, don’t give him anything. Confinement means none of his requests should be fulfilled." Adrian Lancaster stepped into the living room.

"Happy New Year, President Lancaster." The subordinates inside greeted him.

"Happy New Year." Adrian Lancaster replied warmly, then proceeded to walk upstairs.

"Good day, President Lancaster!"

On the way, every subordinate he met greeted him with utmost respect and complete obedience.

Upstairs, someone helped him open the door.

Adrian Lancaster stood at the doorway, looking inside, only to see Black Hawk was still in bed, wrapped in the covers like a large bundle.

His eyes narrowed slightly. He took two steps forward and stood still, silently observing him.

Another subordinate helped him close the door.

Last night’s insomnia kept Black Hawk up late, and just now, he seemed to have heard the door open and close.

He poked his head out of the covers; his eyes weren’t fully open yet, but he saw a tall figure standing not far away.

Is it Adrian Lancaster?

Black Hawk half propped himself up, instantly wide awake. The vast bedroom wasn’t lit with the main light; morning light filtered through, still relatively dim.

He could see the silhouette clearly.

The two men’s gazes locked together.

Adrian Lancaster withdrew his gaze, casually turned on the room lamp, and the entire room instantly became bright.

When he looked again at the man on the bed, the other instinctively raised a hand to block the light.

Adrian Lancaster walked a few steps toward the bed, then stood still, speaking in a deep voice, "Happy New Year, Mr. Victor Lane."

The mention of this long-lost name caused Black Hawk’s heart to drop, involuntarily recalling events from twenty years ago.

Adrian Lancaster’s expression was very calm, "It’s almost eight o’clock, and you’re still lazing in bed on New Year’s Day. This year’ll be wasted, and it’s not a good sign. Get up, let’s go down for breakfast together."
