Vampire God in the Apocalypse-Chapter 329 - 326. The archives (2)
Rose was smiling, looking at the faces of all the people around her. The dragon king was neutral, but there was Dexter and a lady who looked familiar to her.
She narrated the incident of how Lucifer walked into their coven and almost wiped out every vampire present.
The entire room fell silent; there was a lot of pressure in the air. They all knew that this person was heading towards the camp or he would head in their direction surely.
"Only a few of the vampires managed to escape. I can barely feel my connection to them anymore." She bent her head.
From the tone of her voice, everyone present in the room could tell that she was deeply affected by what happened to her coven.
It is one thing to fight a war, but it is another story when fighting a god in the flesh. A walking beacon of destruction himself.
"Does he want war?" General Dian asked, and Rose immediately frowned at his question.
"Well, actually..." She sounded confused.
Her red eyes scanned the entire room, and she looked at Hannah, who stood behind Dexter and Kila. Hannah's golden eyes locked with the woman, and she tensed up immediately.
"Child, do you have any connection to that bird woman? You have the same eyes... as her? But I sense dragon blood in you." Rose frowned, looking at the dragon king and squinting her eyes.
Gazan in turn looked at Dian, who had a slight smile on his face. His white teeth contrasted with his dark skin.
"She was supposed to be my wife." He answered straight, not looking at Gazan.
The dragon king, minding his slightly golden hair, didn't say anything and let out a sigh. Rose was just looking at him with a hint of amusement.
"Anyways, he wants the girl. Your daughter. Now, I don't know why, but he seemed really hellbent on finding her. And he will." Rose answered, laying back down on the bed.
She winced as the wounds touched the sheets, and Dexter looked outside and called two women to come and tend to Rose's wounds.
The rest of them left the room. Dexter still held on to Kila, but Hannah hugged his other arm tightly.
Outside the hospital, they all saw the crowd waiting. Collins was also amongst the crowd, and they walked forward, seeing their brother come out from the hospital.
"How is it?" Collins asked, taking a single glance at the hospital behind them before looking back at his brother.
"Let's talk about it elsewhere." He grabbed both Kila and Hannah and leapt to the central building.
The rest of them—Tracy, Rameses, Gazan, and Dian—made their way slowly, having enough time to gather their thoughts on the matter.
Dexter landed in front of the building, then he looked at Kila. She had a calm expression, but he could feel the rage inside her.
"Kila, calm down—"
"I just don't understand why we are helping her! She can give us the information we want and then screw off!" She snapped, looking at Dexter.
"Hannah, go inside. I'll be right back." Dexter smiled at her, and she nodded softly, walking away from them.
"Look, I know that Rose has been the worst coven leader out there. But right now we need as much power as we can get, and she has that power—well, at least at full strength." Dexter nodded, but Kila was still furious at her.
"I hate her." Her voice lowered to almost a whisper. That's when Dexter noticed the tears beginning to form, and he quickly pulled her into a hug.
"There, there. Don't let the anger get to you. Don't worry; after all this is over, you can give her a piece of your mind." He patted her back.
Dexter looked towards the buildings that were being completed and the people in them joyfully singing, and he sighed.
He wondered, again, how the world had changed in less than a year. From being a simple salary worker to having to babysit mostly women all around him.
The rest of the people that went to see Rose came by finally, and they all went into the building and got seated.
The new leaders of the covens were already there, and Dexter wondered if they had actually left the room in the first place.
"You've seen what he can do now." A feminine voice reached their ears, and they looked at Seraphina.
"Shall we continue from where we stopped?" She asked, looking at everyone in the room.
Most of them nodded and agreed, but Dexter silently looked at Hannah.
"You said that he is looking for the source of his weakness. But Rose said he's looking for her. How does this relate to each other?" Dexter felt confused.
He himself would do whatever it took to protect Hannah and be with her. But right now, knowing that she was in danger and he would have to face—maybe—a semi-first-class supernatural...
"Relax. That's where I'm getting to." Seraphina spoke up, and with a smile, she told them what they needed to do.
"If you seek to find out what he's after, you would need to find a secret hidden by our old mistress, Lisa. If you can get the vampire king to go with you to the forest, then you can know all you want." She stopped, looking at everyone in the room with a wide smile on her face.
The other four leaders of the covens kept quiet behind her, and the significant figures all sitting down didn't have anything to say either.
Tracy looked at her best friend. They were a group of three friends at the start of this apocalypse, and now she had only Hannah left.
She couldn't let her friend die.
Dian gritted his teeth. He was ready to die for his daughter, but he knew that a lot of them needed to stay back and protect the camp.
"The ones who should go are the Sunwalker, Obsidian, and the girl herself. Since they're... family." Seraphina concluded.
...
The meeting concluded swiftly, and Dexter went to the top of the roof again. Hannah came a while later to find him, and she lay beside him.
"How do you feel about... the whole thing?" Dexter asked, looking at the clear sky.
Hannah turned to face him, rolling on his arm and getting close to him.
"To be honest, I'm scared. I don't know much about magic, or the kind of community my mother led. But I'm happy I get to go with you." She smiled, and Dexter closed his eyes, facing upwards.
He wasn't so glad about anything, really.
