Chapter 555: Chapter 555: President Lancaster Is Unhappy

Sitting in the car heading home, Kylie Fletcher held her phone and turned her gaze to the flying snow outside the window. Her thoughts unknowingly drifted far away.

There was a voice in her heart, very soft, but very firm—

"Byron, perhaps I can meet someone better, but right now you’re standing in front of me, just like a waterfall hanging from the sky, deafening in all directions. Apart from you, I can’t see anything."

She couldn’t imagine, on some future day, what kind of life she would live if she married someone other than Byron Moss.

The next morning.

When Adrian Lancaster walked into the office, his handsome face was tense, his thick, bold eyebrows tightly furrowed, and his hands were in his pockets. The whole aura was a bit cold, obviously unhappy.

He raised his wrist to check the time, waiting for Dustin Shepherd.

Downstairs, Faye Turner delivered a document to the adjacent annex building. When she came out, the heavy snow was still fluttering, falling on her, the whole world dressed in silver.

As she walked to the main building, Dustin Shepherd happened to get out of the car and walked toward her.

The two saw each other after stepping up the stairs and stopped in their tracks.

"Good morning." Faye Turner greeted him proactively, with a smile on her lips, gentle and pleasant.

Dustin Shepherd was very happy to see her early in the morning.

He reached out to pat the snowflakes off her shoulder. When he extended his hand to brush the snow from her hair, she instinctively stepped back and withdrew the smile from her face.

Dustin’s outstretched fingers awkwardly fell through the air, their gazes converging.

He was stunned for a moment, then quickly came to his senses and lowered his hand, "Your hair has snowflakes, I’m worried you might catch a cold."

Faye Turner lowered her head, casually patting her hair, then gave him a slight smile, "Thank you." She stepped inside briskly.

Turning to watch her departing figure, Dustin Shepherd restrained his emotions.

Not far away, Serena Sutton walked toward him, having witnessed the scene.

The sound of high heels pulled his thoughts back.

Dustin Shepherd turned and met Serena Sutton’s gaze, collecting the gentleness in his eyes.

Serena Sutton teasingly remarked, "Assistant Shepherd, you sure are persistent about liking the boss’s woman, aren’t you? Knowing there’s no result, yet you can’t help yourself, it really counts as true love."

Facing her gaze, Dustin responded with a slightly cold voice, "Miss Sutton seems very interested in my affairs, could it be that you like me?"

Serena Sutton’s back inexplicably stiffened, a blush spread across her face, her eyes dodged, then she raised her voice, "Don’t flatter yourself! A man Faye Turner doesn’t want, I don’t want either! I’m not worse than her!"

With that, she turned and stepped inside, genuinely angry! She liked President Lancaster first and knew him first, only to let someone else beat her to it!

Leaving Dustin Shepherd standing in the wind, feeling a bit disoriented, those words really pierced the heart!

And so, another grudge was formed.

After Serena Sutton left, Dustin Shepherd headed towards the lobby.

He took the elevator upstairs. When he entered the president’s office, he felt the atmosphere was different from usual, concentrating.

Adrian Lancaster stood by the window, leaving him with a long, cold figure, his hands in his pockets, waiting for him.

Once Dustin Shepherd entered, Adrian Lancaster didn’t turn around, standing motionless.

"President Lancaster." Dustin knew right away that President Lancaster had something on his mind.

So, he approached the president’s back, and Dustin softly spoke, "Were you waiting for me?"

Adrian Lancaster turned with a calm face, eyes coldly fixed on him, "Why did you tell Faye that I was helping her find her biological parents?"
